"RECEPTOR-BASED RESPIRATORY FORMULATIONS FOR PREVENTION OR MANAGEMENT OF PULMONARY HYPERTENSION OR HYPOXIC HYPOXEMIA"
|A respirable formulation where the primary active drugs present in the formulation are one or more of the beta receptor agonists and/or alpha-receptor antagonists, compounds that influence the quantity of drug in the aerosol and the aerosol particle size, in flight or otherwise such as volatile organic compounds, lactose, water or CFC or non-CFC propellants available commercially in the market as the vehicle, reducing substances like ascorbic acid, bicarbonates like sodium bicarbonate to control pH, carrier protiens or peptides, and surfactants, like phosphadil choline and lecithin.
A respirable composition comprising of at least one of the receptor agonist
alpha receptor agonists or beta receptor agonists in the ratio of 0.01% -
10.6%, compounds that influence the quantity if drug in the aerosol and
the aerosol particle size, in flight or otherwise in the ratio of 4.3-44.4%,
propellant selected from lactose, water or CFC or non-CFC in the ratio of
60-99.99%, reducing agents selected from ascorbic acid or bicarbonates
to control pH in the ratio of 0- 1.8%, carrier proteins selected form human
serum albumin, heparin or heparin or heparin-like substances in the
ratio of 0-8.3%, and surfactants in the ratio of 0-305%.
2. A composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said receptor agonists
comprises any of Albuterol and its salts, salmeterol or other selective
agonists, Terbutalin Prazocin, Phentolamine, Phenoxybenzamine and
