Title of Invention | A REMOTE CONTROLLED PNEUMATICALLY OPERATED TOP LIDS AND REAR COVER OPENER AND CLOSER OF A TANKER |
---|---|
Abstract | A remote controlled pneumatically operated top lids and rear cover opener and closer (A) of a tanker comprising pneumatically operated horizontally sliding doors (1.1) for opening / closing the top lids; pneumatically operated C- clamps (3.1) for locking and unlocking the rear cover; and two pairs of double acting pneumatic cylinders (1.2), each pair of said cylinders pivotally mounted on said tanker top and the rear cover respectively for automatically opening and closing said top lids and said rear covers. |
Full Text | FIELD OF APPLICATION The present invention relates to a remote controlled pneumatically operated top lids and rear cover of a tanker carrying dusty products like lime dust, etc. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Pouring and dispensing lime dust into lime tanker (RMH-102) from different bunkers is a difficult task especially in rainy season. To pour lime dust, a person has to climb on top of lime tanker and then he has to open two heavy metallic top covers one by one. At the time of dumping at site he has to come at rear of the hutch and open several mounting bolts manually. This is also a difficult task because opening and closing of those bolts in rusted condition require considerable manual effort. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The main object of the present invention is to provide pneumatically operated top and rear lids of a tanker which can be opened and closed from a remote position. This object can be achieved by moving antifriction sliders using a pair of pneumatic cylinders. Thus the present invention provides a remote controlled pneumatically operated top lids and rear cover opener and closer (A) of a tanker comprising: pneumatically operated horizontally sliding doors for opening / closing the top lids; pneumatically operated C-clamps for locking and unlocking the rear cover; and two pairs of double acting pneumatic cylinders, each pair of said cylinders pivotally mounted on said tanker top and the rear cover respectively for automatically opening and closing said top lids and said rear covers. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS The present invention can now be described with reference to the figures of the accompanying drawings where Figure 1 shows the sliding shield of the present invention for the tanker. Figure 2 shows an air circuit diagram for the sliding shield of the present invention. Figure 3 shows the 'C' clamp arrangement for locking the rear lid of the tanker. DETAILED DESCRIPTION The known method of closing and opening of the top and rear lids of a lime tanker is a manually operated method. In the present invention a pneumatic door opener and closer (1A) provides motive power for opening and closing a door (11). For top lid operation two numbers double acting pneumatic cylinders (1.2) pivotally mounted on the tanker and its arm (1.3) is coupled to horizontal sliding doors (1.1). For rear cover two numbers similar double action pneumatic cylinders are pivotally mounted on the rear lid and their arms are coupled with a specially designed 'C' clamp (3.1) to lock the rear cover. The arrangement of the 'C' clamp locking is illustrated in Figure 3. For top door operation the cylinder (1.2) apply a force to the top sliding covers (1.1) in one direction to open the doors and in the opposite direction to close the doors. For rear door operation the pneumatic cylinders mounted in rear lid apply force in one direction to unlock the rear lid and in opposite direction to lock the rear cover. The sliding shield or cover and its air circuit diagrams are illustrated respectively in Figures 1 and 2. As best seen in Fig. 2, an air tank (2.1) holds air at the elevated pressure. The pressurized air is fed through an air flow regulator (2.2) to a direction control valve (2.2) which is mounted on the driver's cabin of the tanker Double acting air cylinder (1.2) has a piston which is movable in opposite directions depending upon which direction is chosen by the operator through the direction control valve (2.3). The piston is connected to the arm (1.3) which can move the sliding door (1.1) in opposite direction. The near lid also has two similar double acting pneumatic cylinders (not shown) which operates the 'C' clamps (3.1) to either lock or unlock the rear cover. WE CLAIM: 1. A remote controlled pneumatically operated top lids and rear cover opener and closer (A) of a tanker comprising: pneumatically operated horizontally sliding doors (1.1) for opening / closing the top lids; pneumatically operated C-clamps (3.1) for locking and unlocking the rear cover; and two pairs of double acting pneumatic cylinders (1.2), each pair of said cylinders pivotally mounted on said tanker top and the rear cover respectively for automatically opening and closing said top lids and said rear covers. 2. The pneumatically controlled opener and closer (A) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first pair of double acting pneumatic cylinders are provided with arms (1.3) coupled with horizontal sliding doors (1.1) for opening or closing the doors. 3. The pneumatically controlled opener and closer as claimed in claim 1, wherein said second pair of double acting pneumatic cylinders are provided with arms which are coupled with specially designed C-clamps (3.1) to lock or unlock the rear covers for closing or opening the rear covers. 4. A remote controlled pneumatically operated top lids and rear cover opener and closer of a tanker, substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings. |
