A METHOD FOR TREATING LIQUID CONDENSATES

Abstract "A PROCESS FOR SECONDARY CONDENSATE TREATMENT IN A BLACK LIQUOR FIRED BIOLER FOR REUSING IN PULP & PAPER MILL - AFTER REDUCING THE CHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND, BIOLOGIAL OXYGEN DEMAND, SULPHIDE & COLOR" TO DESIRED LEVELS" Existing biological process - since the seconday condensate has a high C.O.D: B.O.D ratio - is not a technically correct option and it cannot bring down the organic contaminations to lass than certain levels and it will be lmpossible to treat with out increasing the dissolved solids. In addition-there is no existing process in opration to recycle the secondary condensate as "boiler feed water" Our process incorporating Flow eualization, coarse ande fine filtration and oxidation using photochemical reactor and adsorption through activated carbon filter can reduce COD B.O.D, Suphide and color. The process is environmentally friendly and it can either be operated through batch or continuous mode. It can be designed to treat any amount of condensate volume to any level of purity. The treated secondary condensate can easily be use as feed water to boiler after passing through Dm plant as we have eliminated COD, BOD and color.
