---|---|
Abstract | The present invention ITS (Interlocked Train Stopper) is a safe, economical, reliable, sturdy, interlocked and improved substitute for an existing banner flag and HS lamp over wooden staff for reception/dispatch of a train. The main body 1 of present invention, ITS ( Interlocked Train Stopper) is fitted on the frame 20 with nut-bolts 26 and to an angle 2 with two hinges 14. The main body is kept in vertical position with an inclined self locking mechanism. One electric lamp 8, tower light 9 ,reflective sheeting and horn 67 are fitted on the main body 1. Lamps 8 & 9 and horn sound only when connected in series with a limit switch 25 in such a way that the lamps do not glow and horn sound only when the main body 1 kept in lying position and also the main body gets automatically locked. The complete structure is fitted on sleepers of the rail by clamps 3,5 and 11. The ITS is made to function properly in all weather conditions and able to withstand very high wind speed. There are two positions of ITS vertical (standing) for alerting driver of the approaching train to stop and horizontal (lying) for allowing train to pass over it. The main body 1 can be kept in vertical position with a handle 79 of the gear box 78. It can also be made in vertical position with an electric motor 81. The ITS is interlocked with the boom and Gate Signal GS of the Level Grossing gate such that in any case only one way traffic is allowed to cross the gate. Both train and road vehicle can not cross the gate simultaneously in any conditions resulting into almost no accident at managed LC gates in a road-railway transport system. |
