Abstract | A light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile includes a base body and a strong light-preventing soft sheet releasably installed in the base body. The base body has its upper side provided with positioning members and its interior installed with a winding mechanism and a control member, able to be positioned on the windshield or on the front visor of an automobile. In use, simply pull out the strong light-preventing soft sheet to a suitable length needed for filter and block strong light. To wind up the strong light-preventing sheet after pulled down, only press the control member to start the winding mechanism for winding up the strong light-preventing sheet in the base body. The device obstructs strong light, convenient to be assembled and easy to be handled. |
Full Text | LIGHT FILTERING AND STRONG LIGHT-PR EVENTING DEVICE FOR THE FRONT SEAT OF AN AUTOMOBILE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention This invention relates to a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile, particularly to one provided with a strong 1 i ght-pr e v enting soft sheet able to be pulled out of a base body and adjusted in its light filtering area for blocking off and filtering strong light to enable a driver to drive with safety. 2. Description of the Prior Art Generally, one of the troubles a driver encounters is that the sun projects strong light upon the eyes directly and makes a driver unable to open his eyes, rendering a driver impossible to drive with safety. To solve such a problem, a driver usually has to wear sunglasses for blocking off the strong sunlight. However, when a driver forgets to bring sunglasses with him, or if a driver is near sighted or farsighted and already has such eyeglasses on but has to additionally wear dark glasses, it,will surely cause much trouble to the driver. Although each automobile is provided with visors over the front seat for blocking off the sunlight, yet the visor that is opaque may also obstruct a driver's eyesight. In another case, if the driver is short-statured, and when the sun just rises or is to set and horizontally projects light to the interior of an automobile, the visor above the front seat will become useless and the driver has to wear sunglasses in order to block off the sunlight, thus resulting in much trouble to a driver. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION A first objective of the invention is to offer a light filtering and strong 1 i ght - p re v ent i ng device for the front seat of an automobile, which is provided with a strong light-preventing soft sheet able to be collapsed in a base body and pulled out to a most suitable light filtering area for blocking and filtering strong light so as to insure safe driving. A second objective of the invention is to offer a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile, able to effectively prevent ultraviolet rays from injuring a driver's eyes. A third objective of the invention is to offer a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile, able to be collapsed and pulled out for use conveniently. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT A first preferred embodiment of a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile in the present invention, as shown in Figs. 1-4, includes a base body 1 and a strong light-preventing soft sheets 2 combined together. The base body 1 has its upper side provided with positioning members 10, such as suction disks or clips, and its interior installed with a winding mechanism 11 composed of a winding rod 110 and an elastic member 111. The winding mechanism 11 has one side disposed with a control member 12 coupled with the winding rod 110, and the elastic member 111 has one end 1110 engaged with an engage notch 112 of the winding rod 110 of the winding mechanism 11 so that the elastic member 111 and the winding rod 110 can be rotated together. The control member 12 is composed of two engage ratchet wheels 120 and 121, two caps 122 and 123 and an actuating member 124. The first ratchet wheel 120 has one end fitted on the winding rod 110 and the other end provided with teeth 1200, while the second ratchet wheel 121 has one end provided with teeth 1210 to be engaged with the teeth 1200 of the first ratchet wheel 120 and the other end fixed with a rod member 1211 with an insert hole 1213 and an elastic member 1212 fitted on the rod member 1211. The first cap 122 is mounted on one end of the base body 1, while the cap 123 is covered on the two ratchet wheels 120, 121 and the other end of the base body 1 and bored with a central insert hole 1230 for the rod member 1211 of the second ratchet wheel 121 to be inserted therethrough. The actuating member 124 is pivotally mounted on the rod member 1211 of the second ratchet wheel 121 by a pin 1240 inserted through the insert holes 1241 of the actuating member 124 and the insert hole 1213 of the rod member 1211 of the second ratchet wheel 121. The strong light-preventing soft sheet 2 is made of soft and I i gh t - f i 1 ter ing plastic able to filter and block off strong light. The strong 1 i ght-pr e ve nt i ng soft sheet 2 has an upper end secured on the winding rod 110 of the winding mechanism 11 to be wound on the winding rod 110 and a lower end attached with a lateral bar 20 and a pull member 21. In using, the positioning members 10 of the base body 1 are firmly positioned on the windshield of an automobile and then hold the pull member 21 and pull out the strong light-preventing sheet 2 to a proper location for filtering and weakening strong light coming through the windshield of an automobile. To wind up the strong light-preventing sheet 2, only pull the actuating member 124 of the control member 12 to let the teeth 1200, 1210 of the two engage ratchet wheels 120, 121 on the winding rod 110 disengaged from each other so that the resilience of the elastic member 111 may force itself and the winding rod 110 to rotate reversely to wind up completely the strong light-preventing soft sheet 2. A second preferred embodiment of a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile in the present invention, as shown in Figs. 5-8, includes a base body 3, a daytime strong light-preventing soft sheet 4 and a nighttime strong light-preventing soft sheet 5 combined together. The base body 3 has its upper side fixed with positioning members 30 and its interior disposed with two winding mechanism 31, 32, which have totally the same structure as that in the first preferred embodiment. The two winding mechanisms 31, 32 respectively have one side assembled with a control member 33, 34 for controlling the winding mechanism 31, 32 to operate. The daytime strong 1 i ght-pr e ve n ti ng sheet 4 is made of a soft, dark-brown-colored and light filtering material. The daytime strong light-preventing sheet 4 has an upper end fixed on the winding mechanism 31 and a lower end attached with a lateral bar 40 and a pull member 4 1 . The nighttime strong light-preventing sheet 5 assembled on the winding mechanism 32 of the base body 3 is made of a soft, yellow-colored and light filtering material. The nighttime strong light-preventing sheet 5 has an upper end secured on the second winding mechanism 32 and a lower end attached with a lateral bar 50 and a pull member 51. In assembling and using, the positioning members 30 of the base body 3 are secured on the windshield of an automobile for use. When driving, a driver can optionally use either the daytime or the nighttime strong light-preventing sheet according to the weather. When the sunlight is strong, simply pull down the daytime strong light-preventing sheet 4 for blocking off the strong sunlight. To wind up the daytime strong light-preventing sheet 4, only press the control member 33 to let the daytime strong 1 i gh t - p re ve nt i ng sheet 4 wound up on the first winding mechanism 31 of the base body 3. When driving at night, simply pull out the nighttime strong 1 i ght-pre vent ing sheet 5 for use. The nighttime strong 1 i ght - pre vent ing sheet 5 does not affect a driver's eyesight and can filter the light coming from opposite cars; therefore, a driver can concentrate on driving with safety. A third preferred embodiment of a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile in the present invention, as shown in Figs. 9 and 10, is to have a light filtering and strong light-preventing device assembled on the front visor 6 of an automobile. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device is composed of a base body 1 and a light filtering and strong light-preventing soft sheet 2. The base body 1 is disposed in the interior with a winding mechanism 11 and a control member 12, which respectively have the same structure as that described in the first preferred embodiment. The strong light-preventing soft sheet 2 made of soft and 1 i gh t-f i 1 ter in g plastic is assembled in the winding mechanism 11 of the base body 1 and has an upper end secured on the winding rod 110 of the winding mechanism 11, able to be wound on the winding rod 110 by the resilience of the elastic member 111 when not used. The strong light-preventing soft sheet 2 has a lower end attached with a lateral bar 20 and a pull member 21. A fourth preferred embodiment of a light filtering and strong light-preventing device for the front seat of an automobile in the present invention, as shown in Figs. 11, 12 and 13, is to be secured on the front visor 6 of an automobile. The light filtering and strong 1 i g h t - p r e v e n t i n g device is composed of a base body 3, a daytime strong light-preventing soft sheet 4 and a nighttime strong light-preventing soft sheet 5. The base body 3 is provided inside with two winding mechanism 31, 32, which have the same structure as that in the first preferred embodiment. The two winding mechanisms 31, 32 respectively have one side provided with a control member 33, 34 respectively for controlling the winding mechanism 31, 32 to operate. The daytime strong light-preventing sheet 4 made of a soft, dark-brown-colored and light filtering material is releasably wound on the winding mechanism 31 of the base body 3, having an upper end fixed on the winding mechanism 31 and a lower end attached with a lateral bar 40 and a pull member 41. The nighttime strong light-preventing soft sheet 5 made of a soft, y e 11 o w - co 1 o re d and light filtering material is assembled on the winding mechanism 32 of the base body 3, having an upper end secured on the winding mechanism 32 and a lower end attached with a lateral bar 50 and a pull member 51. As can be understood from the above description, this invention has the following advantages. 1. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device of this invention can be optionally used in the daytime or in the nighttime for blocking off strong light so a driver does not need to wear sunglasses. 2. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device of this invention can be easily secured on the windshield or on the front visor of an automobile, very convenient in assembly. 3. The base body 1, 3 of the light filtering and strong light-preventing device of this invention can be directly secured on the front visor of an automobile for filtering and blocking off strong light. 4. The strong light-preventing sheet of the light filtering and strong light-preventing device can be wound up or pulled down conveniently, needless to take any space. 5. The strong light-preventing sheet of the light filtering and strong light-preventing device can be employed at other places for blocking the sunlight. 6. The strong light-preventing sheet of the light filtering and strong light-preventing device is made of soft plastic so it is not easily broken or damaged. 7. T he light filtering and strong light-preventing device of this invention can obstruct ultraviolet rays to protect a driver's eyes. While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention. We Claim: 1. A light filtering and strong light-preventing device positioned on windshield of an automobile for blocking and filtering strong light falling upon a front seat of the automobile, said device being characterized by: a base body (1); at least one winding mechanism (11) disposed within an interior portion of the base body (1); at least one positioning members (10) provided on an upper side of said base body (1) for positioning the base body (1) on the windshield; and at least one strong light-preventing sheet (2) having one end secured to said at least one winding mechanism (11) of said base body (1) and having a free end contoured to project outside the base body (1) and being dimensioned to able to be pulled out of the base body (1) for blocking and filtering strong light, said at least one strong light-preventing sheet (2) being made of soft and transparent plastic. 2. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base body (3) is provided with two winding mechanisms (31, 32), each of the said two winding mechanisms (31, 32) respectively having a strong light-preventing sheet (4, 5) fixed in its interior, a first (31) of the said two winding mechanisms (31, 32) being provided with a strong light-preventing sheet (4) made of material suited for use in the daytime, the second (32) of the said two winding mechanisms (31, 32) being provided with a strong light-preventing sheet (5) made of material suited for use in the nighttime. 3. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein said winding mechanism (11) is composed of a winding rod (110), a control member (12) for controlling a length of the said strong light-preventing sheet (2) projecting outside the base body (1) and an elastic member (111) for enabling collapse and automatic winding of the strong light-preventing sheet (2). 4. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein said base body (1) is configured and dimensioned for mounting on a visor of the automobile. 5. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device as claimed in claim 2, wherein the first winding (31) having said daytime strong light-preventing sheet (4) and said second winding (32) having nighttime strong light-preventing sheet (5) are simultaneously operable for blocking off the sunlight and lowering the internal temperature of an automobile. 6. The light filtering and strong light-preventing device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the said strong light-preventing sheet (2) is made of soft, transparent and light filtering material preventing strong light as well as ultraviolet rays. |
