Full Text This invention relates to an improved motor cycle. In particular, this invention relates to an improvement in or relating to a motor cycle.
The use and the construction of motor cycles is well known to the public. The motor cycles with lot of improvements have now been introduced into the market by the different manufactures. However, one of the main disadvantages associated with the conventional motor cycles is that in case of puncture of the tyre and tube the motor cycle cannot be taken for repairing even to the nearby workshop and the motor cycle has to be dragged to the workshop by the user, which is a tedious and cumbersome job.
Therefore the main object of the present invention is to provide an improved motor cycle having the means for filling the air into the punctured tube and thus it becomes easy to ride the motor cycle atleast upto the workshop for repairing of the punctured tube.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided an improved motor cycle with a means for filling air into punctured tube comprising an internal combustion engine mounted on the main chassis of the motor cycle such that to provide a drive to the back wheel being secured at the back side of the chassis, a handle being provided at the front side of the chassis for supporting the front wheel provided for facilitating the riding of the motor cycle by the user characterized in that air supply means is operated by the sprocket wheel of the said engine being mounted at the middle portion of said chassis towards the back side of said engine, an air conveying pipe being secured with the outlet of said air supply means being connected to the inlet an air measuring gauge, a flexible air conveying pipe having a nozzle assembly at one end being connected to the outlet of said gauge to provide the air to the punctured type and tube assembly.

In accordance with this invention air supply means are provided with a conventional motor cycle such that to be operated by the engine of said motor cycle. The air supply means comprises a compressor having piston cylinder assembly. The outer end of the piston is connected to the sprocket wheel of the engine and such that whenever the operation of the air supply means is required the piston is connected with the sprocket wheel by means of nut and bolt such that the sprocket wheel acts like a cam and thus the rotational movement of the sprocket wheel is converted into the linear motion, and thus the piston of the piston cylinder assembly is operated so as to provide the supply of air to the air pressure gauge means and the air is subsequently supplied to the punctured tube and tyre assembly.
An improved motor cycle according to a preferred embodiment of this invention is herein
described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein
Fig. 1 shows the conventional motor cycle having the air supply means.
Fig.2 shows the exploded sectional view of the air supply means.
Fig. 3 shows the side view of the piston.
Referring to the drawings particularly fig. 1 an engine 1 is mounted on the main chassis 2 of the motor cycle. A rear wheel 3 is secured at the backside of the main chassis 2 such that to get a drive from the sprocket wheel of the engine 1. A driving handle 4 is secured at the front end of the main chassis 2 for supporting the front wheel 5 provided for guiding the riding of the motor cycle. A fuel tank 6 and seat 7 are provided with the main chassis 2 of the motor cycle in a conventional manner. These features are as such known in the prior art and do not constitute inventive features of the present invention.
Specifically, according to this invention a bolt and/or an extension 8 as shown in fig.2 is provided with the engine sprocket 9 at one side thereof for securing the front end of the piston 10 of the compressor assembly 11. A metallic air conveying tube 12 is connected to the outlet of the compressor assembly 11 and the other end of the tube 12 is connected to a pressure gauge 13 provided at the front end of the chassis 2, A flexible air conveying tube 14 is connected to the outlet of the pressure gauge 13 having a nozzle assembly 15 provided at the other end thereof being provided for facilitating the air supply to the punctured tyre and tube assembly 16. A slot 17 as shown in fig.3 is provided at the front end of the piston 10 for securing the same with the sprocket 9 of the engine. A slot 1A is also provided in the cover IB for inserting the front end of the piston 10 with the sprocket wheel 9.
During the operation of the air supplying means the front end of the piston is bolted with the main sprocket 9 of the engine and the rear wheel 2 of the motor cycle is lifted up and the motor cycle is started. Thus, the main sprocket of the engine start rotating and acts like a cam to provide to and fro movement to the piston 10 of the compressor assembly 11, Thus the rotational movement of the sprocket 9 is converted into the linear movement of the piston 10. The compressed air is conveyed to the punctured tube and tyre assembly IB through the metallic tube 12, air pressure meter 13 and flexible tube 14. In case of front wheel puncture even the wheel is not required to be removed from the handle means 4.
