Abstract	This invention is applicable to the Group and List Management Technology which is used for subscribing Presence Services and used for applications like Group Communications in Push to talk Over Cellular, Presence list management, Instant Messaging etc. The invention incorporated a system and method for maintaining the History of Group/List Data Management operations performed on Group/List Documents stored on XDM Server. The invention explains a method and system for maintaining the history of Group/List data management operations wherein the XDM Server and XDM Client have a method to store the history information, XDM Server and XDM Client have a method to update the history information upon each successful Group/List Data Management Operation, method to access the stored history information by the XDM Client, and a method to remove the stored history information upon the removal of a Group/List XML Document.
