"AUTO - DESTRUCT SYRINGE"

Abstract An Auto-Destruct Syringe 1 comprising a connecting rod 2 provided with a central hole 3 and one or more horizontal holes 4, and a rubber washer 5 having a hole 6 and fitting onto an end 7 of the rod 2 provided with said central hole 3, and another washer 8 provided towards another end 9 of said connecting rod 2 is disclosed, wherein said another washer 8 sits in the external body 10 of the syringe 1, and a pellet 11 of biologically acceptable and water soluble material is provided in a space 12 between said washer 5 and said end 7 of said rod 2.
Full Text Field of the Invention:-
The present invention relates to an auto-destruct syringe. Prior art of the Invention:-
With the increase in number of infectious diseases and their spread among human beings due to reuse, particularly second use of syringes, when the same syringe has been used on the diseased patient, there is growing demand of the auto-destruct syringes, which will get destroyed automatically on one use.
Some of the known auto-destruct syringes of the prior art comprises of mechanical mechanism, which has disadvantages of its own, such as requirement of precise manufacturing techniques and high cost of such syringes.
Further disadvantages of such known syringes is that if by mistake the doctor has in-taken the wrong dose of the vaccine and wants to retake, then the syringe cannot be used, which in-turn results in the mere wastage of dose and syringe and adds to cost of the vaccination programme. Need of the Invention: -
Therefore, there is a need to have an auto-destruct syringe, which can overcome the disadvantages of the prior art, as stated hereinabove. Objects of the Invention:-
This is the main object of the present invention to make a disclosure of the auto-destruct syringe, which can overcome the disadvantages of the prior art, as stated hereinabove.
This is another object of the present invention to make a disclosure of the auto-destruct syringe, which can be easily manufactured and does not require precise manufacturing techniques and hence is cheaper in cost.
This is another object of the present invention to make a disclosure of the auto-destruct syringe, which can be easily used once with adjustment of the required dose and gets automatically destroyed on attempt of second use.

Further an object of the present invention is to make a disclosure of an auto-destruct syringe, which does not comprise of a precise mechanical mechanism, which in-turn makes such syringes expensive and requires controlled and precise method of use. Brief Description of the Invention:-
The present invention makes a disclosure of the auto-destruct syringe, which can only be used once and get automatically destroyed, when attempted to reuse and can also be used only once for adjustment of the correct dose of the vaccine, wherein said auto-destruct syringe comprises of a connecting rod provided with a central hole and horizontal holes, and a rubber washer onto one end and a locking means on another end and said connecting rod is made to sit in the external body of the syringe.
Accordingly, the present invention relates to an auto-destruct syringe comprising a connecting rod provided in an external body characterized in that said connecting rod is provided with a central and vertical hole, one or more of horizontal holes and a rubber washer, wherein said washer is provided with a hole, and a pallet is provided between said washer having a hole and end of said connecting rod so as to sit in the cavity formed therebetween.
The present invention also relates to an auto-destruct syringe comprising a connecting rod provided in an external body characterized in that said connecting rod is provided with a central and vertical hole, one or more of horizontal holes and a rubber washer, wherein said washer is provided with a hole, and a pallet is provided between said washer having a hole and end of said connecting rod so as to sit in the cavity formed therebetween, and said horizontal hole is provided with a rod.
The present also relates to an auto-destruct syringe comprising a connecting rod provided in an external body characterized in that said connecting rod is provided with a central and vertical hole, one or more of horizontal holes and a rubber washer, wherein said washer is provided

with a hole, and a pallet is provided between said washer having a hole and end of said connecting rod so as to sit in the cavity formed therebetween, and said connecting rod is provided with another washer.
Further advantages and the preferred embodiments of the presently disclosed invention will be more apparent when the following description is read in conjunction with the accompanying figures, which are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Brief Description of the Accompanying Figures:-
Figure-1 shows the longitudinal cross-section of the presently disclosed auto-destruct syringe in accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention.
Figure-2 shows the horizontal cross-section across the line A-A' of the presently disclosed auto-destruct syringe as shown in the Figure - 1 in accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention.
Figure-3 shows the horizontal cross-section across the line B-B' of the presently disclosed auto-destruct syringe as shown in the Figure - 1 in accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention. Detailed Description of the Invention:-
Accordingly, the present invention makes a complete disclosure of an auto-destruct syringe, which can be used only once and any attempt to use the syringe for the second time shall cause in auto-destruction of the syringe. Further, the presently disclosed auto-destruct syringe can preferably be used only once to adjust the correct dose of the vaccine to be injected. Any attempt to adjust the dose again and again shall also cause in auto-destruction of the syringe. Hence, the presently disclosed syringe can be used only once for adjustment of dose of the vaccine and only once for the vaccination.
In accordance to the one of the preferred embodiments of the presently disclosed invention the time to be taken for auto-destruction of the presently disclosed syringe can be pre-decided while manufacturing

the presently disclosed syringe, which can further vary depending upon the nature and composition of the vaccine being used.
Now referring to the accompanying figures, the present invention makes a complete disclosure of an auto-destruct syringe 1 comprising of a connecting rod 2, an external body 10 and pellet 11 and optionally a rod 1 la, wherein the said connecting rod 2 is provided with a central and vertical hole 3, one or more of horizontal holes 4, a rubber washer 5 having a hole 6 and preferably another washer 8 and the said connecting rod 2 sits in the said external body 10 of the said syringe 1.
In accordance to the present invention said rubber washer 5 provided with the said hole 6 is made to sit onto the end 7 provided with said central and vertical hole 3 of the said connecting rod 2 and said another washer 8 is made to sit towards another end 9 of the said connecting rod 2 of the presently disclosed syringe 1.
In accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention the said central and vertical hole 3 extend from said end 7 of the said connecting rod 2 upto certain length 13 of the said rod 2 towards the said end 9 of the said connecting rod 2 and preferably coincides with the said hole 6 provided in the said washer 5. In accordance to the present invention the said pellet 11 is made to sit in the cavity 12 created between said washer 5 and said end 7 of the said connecting rod 2 in such a way that the said pellet 11 is exposed to said hole 6 provided in the said washer 5 on one end and on another end is exposed to said central and vertical hole 3 provided in the said connecting rod 2 of the presently disclosed syringe 1. In accordance to the preferred embodiment of the present invention the said pellet 11 sits properly in the said cavity 12 in such a way that there is no contact of the said hole 6 of the said washer 5 with the said central and vertical hole 3 of the said connecting rod 2 of the syringe 1.
In accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention one or more horizontal holes 4 are provided towards the said end 7 of the said connecting rod 2. Further, in accordance to another

preferred embodiment of the present invention one or more horizontal holes 4 are provided towards said end 9 of the said connecting rod 2. The horizontal holes 4 provided towards end 7 are hereinafter referred to as hole 4a and are labeled as 4a in the accompanying Figure-1 and horizontal holes 4 provided towards end 9 are hereinafter referred to as 4 and labeled as 4 in order to demarcate between the two. In accordance to the present invention one end of all such holes 4 and 4a opens in the said central and vertical hole 3 provided in the said connecting rod 2 and another end opens in cavity 15a between the said washer 5 and said connecting rod 2 or in cavity 15 created between the said connecting rod 2 and said external body 10 of the said syringe 1. In accordance to the preferred embodiment of the present invention the said holes 4 extend from the curvature end 14 of the said connecting rod 2 up to said central hole 3 provided in the said connecting rod 2 and hence opens in to the said cavity 15 created between said connecting rod 2 and said external body 10 of the presently disclosed syringe.
In accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention said holes 4a are preferably provided with a rod 1 la.
In accordance to the preferred embodiment of the present invention the said pellet 11 and said rod 1 la are made up of any known biologically acceptable material, which is soluble in aqueous or oil or combination of aqueous and oil medium. The present invention is however, not restricted by thickness and strength of pellet 11 and 'diameter and strength of rod 11 a, which are generally controlled by the vaccine to be injected using the presently disclosed syringe.
In accordance to one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention the said another washer 8 is fixed onto said external body 10 of the said syringe 1 and accommodates the said connecting rod 2. This said washer provides the advantage that any attempt to take out the connecting rod 2 out of said external body 10 of the presently disclosed syringe 1 will result in breakage of the said external body 10 also. Further, in accordance to the present invention any attempt to retake the

vaccine or to refill the said syringe 1 will result in dissolution of said pellet 11 and also of said rod 11 a, which in-turn will result in clear passage for vaccine to flow through the said central and vertical hole 3 and said holes 4 and 4a in the said cavities 15 and 15a and hence will make the syringe unfit for second use or reuse.
The present invention has been described with the help of the accompanying figures, which are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. It is obvious to those who have knowledge of the field that minor modifications are possible without deviating from the scope of the present invention.




I CLAIM :
1. An auto-destruct syringe 1 comprising a connecting rod 2 provided
in an external body 10 characterized in that said connecting rod 2
is provided with a central and vertical hole 3, one or more of
horizontal holes 4/4a and a rubber washer 5, wherein said washer
5 is provided with a hole 6, and a pallet 11 is provided between
said washer 5 having a hole 6 and end 7 of said connecting rod 2
so as to sit in the cavity 12 formed therebetween.
2. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said pallet
11 is exposed to said hole 6 on one end and to said central and vertical hole 3 on another end.
3. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein said
central and vertical hole 3 extends from said end 7 upto certain
length 13 of said connecting rod 2.
4. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in any one of preceding
claims, wherein said central and vertical hole 3 coincides with said
hole 6.
5. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in any one of preceding
claims, wherein said one or more holes 4a are provided towards
said end 7 of said connecting rod 2.
6. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in any one of preceding
claims, wherein said one or more holes 4 are provided towards said
end 9 of said connecting rod 2.
7. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in claim 5 or 6, wherein one
end of said holes 4/4a opens in said central and vertical hole 3.
8. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in any one of preceding claims
5 to 7, wherein another end of said holes 4/4a opens either in
cavity 15a formed between said washer 5 and said connecting rod
,2 or in cavity 15 formed between said connecting rod 2 and said
external body 10.
9. An auto-destruct syringe 1 comprising a connecting rod 2 provided
in an external body 10 characterized in that said connecting rod 2
is provided with a central and vertical hole 3, one or more of horizontal holes 4/4a and a rubber washer 5, wherein said washer 5 is provided with a hole 6, and a pallet 11 is provided between said washer 5 having a hole 6 and end 7 of said connecting rod 2 so as to sit in the cavity 12 formed therebetween, and said
horizontal hole 4a is provided with a rod 11 a.

10. An auto-destruct syringe 1 comprising a connecting rod 2 provided
in an external body 10 characterized in that said connecting rod 2 is provided with a central and vertical hole 3, one or more of horizontal holes 4/4a and a rubber washer 5, wherein said washer 5 is provided with a hole 6, and a pallet 11 is provided between said washer 5 having a hole 6 and end 7 of said connecting rod 2 so as to sit in the cavity 12 formed therebetween, and said connecting rod 2 is provided with another washer 8.
11. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in claim 10, wherein said
washer 8 is made to sit towards another end 9 of said connecting
rod 2.
12. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in claim 10 or 11, wherein
said washer 8 is fixed onto said external body 10 and
accommodates said connecting rod 2.

13. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in any one of preceding claims
10 to 12, wherein said horizontal hole 4a is provided with a rod
lla.
14. An auto-destruct syringe as claimed in any one of preceding
claims, wherein said pellet 11 and said rod lla are made up of any
known biologically acceptable material.
15. An auto-destruct syringe as described hereinabove and illustrated
with the help of accompanying drawings.
