The following specification describes the invention

Milk replacer feed for calves to help them sustain, improve growth & attain timely & complete functional maturity
Abstract:
The present invention is related to calf milk replacer containing various ingredients; catering
To comprehensive needs of juvenile heifers including adequate protein, fat and carbohydrate
intake, proper supplementation of vitamins, minerals and essential trace elements and
reduction in prevalence to infections, taking into consideration the cost of rearing them and
availability of additional milk for pumans that is replaced. "The formulation targets better
bioavailability of the right ingredients at a reduced cost. The milk replacer is meant for all
calves for sustaining them, improving their growth and to help them attain timely & complete
functional maturity. The formulation has good payability and advantages of cost, increased
availability of milk, zero side effects, good efficacy and is the first measure, which could be
followed to sustain and rear calves especially those of upgraded cross-breed variety.

Field of Invention
The invention deals with milk replacer feed for calves which helps them sustain themselves,
improving their growth &. help them attain timely & complete functional maturity thus
increasing the overall milk productivity right from their juvenile state in terms of saving of their consumable milk replaced to their adult stage where their productivity would be equivalent to their genetic ancestor thus enhancing the returns acquired from that animal.
The milk replacer feed is designed as a perfect combination venturing into all the aspects of

juvenile calf nutrition and incorporates a variety of Ingredients (accounting for-protein,
carbohydrate & fat supplementation), Minerals, Vitamins, Essential trace elements,
Antibiotics,' Paiatability enhancers and preservatives. The milk replacer feed targets a
reduction in infections, mortality and morbidity in the calf and increase in nutrition status,

fertility on maturity and productivity at the lowest possible cost associated with it.

Introduction
In ancient India Livestock breeding was an industry in itself. The industry was so flourished
that cows were used as a currency but today's conditions seem different. Over the years the
industry has gained a secondary status to farming and is now looked upon as a side
business. It has declined due to various reasons the foremost being the loss of productivity
and lack 6f commitment. Though different varieties and breeds of livestock especially cow
and buffalos have been developed the progeny is not maintained thus deteriorating the
condition even further. The condition worsens when the farmer feels that the input is more
than its output and calves are sold out to butchers.
Various surveys have highlighted figures that though India tops the world in animal population it is not even among the top 5 in per capita milk production. This itself signifies

that the animals are not properly taken care of and reared un scientifically. The major issue is that the cross breeds, which are the upgraded high yielding variety of animals, are mismanaged right from their juvenile days so that their capacity of high yield does not persist and they face a lot of functional problems in their days ahead,
Concentrating just in the case of a calf of high yield variety, which it does not receive proper
nutrition and care in its juvenile days how can one expect it to grow and perform the, way it is expected after puberty? To start with the colostrum is sold by which it misses out the very essential disease fighting maternal antigens this is followed by the fact that it is only left to suckle the .udders till the mother animal lets down this is milk and then removed without having its share. Ifs diet is also not standardized or maintain as no financial source of income is attached to it on the contrary it is always viewed as an economic hindrance to milk resale. A long-term concept that "Today's female calf is tomorrows cow or buffalo" is the
slight reason that it could be looked after but with mechanical farming devices for farming
and cryo-preserved semen sticks at ready disposal for artificial insemination the male calf is
mostly not "even looked at.
This gave the need of research that a formulation should be invented such that it would help
the farmer sustain the calf for a minimal expense and long-teem benefits from sustaining the
calf should out weigh even that expense.

Objects

Research of the composition of milk replacer feed targets the following
1. The object is to formulate a milk replacer, which decreases the chances of mortality

in juvenile calves.

—2. Another object is to find a milk replacer feed, which would provide proper nutrition to
the calf, promoting adequate weight gain keeping other nutritional parameters stable!
3. A further object is to formulate a feed which will induce economy in1 proper nutrition,
which would act as a driver for the farmers commitment towards the calf thus
ensuring proper sustenance of especially upgraded cross breed animals.
4, Another object is to find a milk replacer feed that reduce chances of infection in calf,
5. One more object is to find a milk replacer feed, which would enhance the functional
capacity of the calf in its coming years."
6 The last object is to ensure more milk is available for human consumption while the nutrirition needs of the calf are also taken care of.

Advantages of invention:
1. The milk replacer feed increases the chances of sustainability in the calf
2. The novel composition "works for a nutritional balance in the calf
3. The novel product helps it reach a proper rate of daily body weight gain
4. The milk repfacer feed brings economy in the calf feeding process
5. It enhances the functional capacity of the calf in years to come
6. it provides proper substitution in case adequate milk from the mother is not available
7. It promotes timely puberty in the calf
8. This composition averts Infertility causing situations
9. The formulation provides most of the essential nutrients to the calf
10. The feed will ensure higher milk yield in the calf its post partum
11. The feed is easier to feed it as it has Good Playability
12. It is also safe for long-term use, as it has No side effects on use

Description of invention
The invention is a milk replacer feed, which bears a novel composition according to the requirements of calves in juvenile state. It contains a variety of ingredients targeted for proper daily supplementation and energy requirement of calves. It contains various free minerals or salts to supply the calves their requirement of mineral supplementation a lack of which may result in stunned growth & even mortality. The bioavailability of some ingredients is enhanced by specific techniques. Some ingredients supplement carbohydrate, protein & fat requirement by specific techniques. Some ingredients supplement carbohydrate, protein & fat requirement of the calves . Antibiotics support resistance to diseases. Vitamins & minerals in it help the calf derive its daily requirement of the same some ingredients account for the palatability and others act as preservatives for a longer shelf life. It helps the calf to sustain itself at a milk intake lower than its requirement thus making more milk available for consumption & provide economic benefit to the farmer. The formulation also promotes the growth of the calf & helps it reach its completer functional maturity in time. The feed also reduces events of susceptibility to infections in calf thus reducing its chances of mortality or mobidity.
The invention is a cattle feed supplement with the following composition:
A. Ingredients supplementing protein, carbohydrate and fat requirement of the calf
B. Ingredients supplementing daily mineral requirement of the calf
C. Ingredients supplementing daily essential trace element requirement of the calf
D. Ingredients supplementing daily vitamin requirement of the calf
E. Ingredients altered through specific process for increased bioavailability
F. Ingredients added to increase the palatability of the formulation
G. ingredients added for anti oxidant activity and as preservatives
