Abstract A rodent repellent and antifungal comprising 1-10 phr stabilizer, 40-80 phr plastisizer, 0.5-6 phr additive, 0.25-10 phr rodent repellent, 0.25-5 phr anti-fungal agent and 100 parts resin preferably polyvinyl chloride (PVC) mixed together and in the form of a free flow powder wherein :-stabilizer a mixture of tribasic lead stearate (2-5 phr), di basic lead sulphate (0.2-3 phr), lead sulphate (0.1-1) and glycidyl mono stearate (0-1 phr); plastisizer used is a mixture of chlorinated paraffin wax (0-40 phr), dioctyl phthalate (40-80 phr) and dibutyl phthalate (0-20 phr); additive used is a mixture of Titanium dioxide (0.2-3 phr), calcium stearate (0.1-5 phr), stearic acid (0.1-2 phr), carbon balck (0.008-0.1 phr) and Micro crystalline wax (0.1-0.5 phr); Rodent repellent used is a mixture of cycloheximide (0.25-2.0 phr), tetramethyl thiunram disulphide (2-5 phr), methyl anthranilate (0-5 phr) and Zinc dimethyl dithiocarbamate (0-6 phr); Anti-fungal agent is selected from chlorhexidine, bis-ganazines, Triethyle organotic or 10, l0'-oxy bisphenoxar sine.
Full Text This invention relates to a rodent repellent and antifungal composition. Rodent repellent and antifungal composition is used for stopping growth of fungus and the rodents from damaging the laminates laid in the godowns and food storage. It is also used for water/moisture proofing in the godowns, food storages and other packages.
Rodent repellent and antifungal composition not as such known in the prior art for stopping the entry of the rodents in the godowns storage and growth of fungus. Therefore, around 45% food grain material in India is wasted during the storage period.
The main object of this invention is to propose a rodent repellent and antifungal composition.
Another object is to propose a rodent repellent and antifungal composition to stop the entry of the rodents in to the godowns/storage and growth of fungus.
According to this invention there is provided a rodent repellent and antifungal composition comprising 1-10 phr stabilizer, 40-80 phr plastisizer, 0.5-6 phr additive, 0.25-10 phr rodent repellent, 0.25-5 phr anti-fungal agent and 100 parts resin preferably polyvinyl chloride (PVC) mixed together and in the form of a free flow powder wherein stabilizer a mixture of tribasic lead stearate (2-5 phr), di basic lead sulphate (0.2-3 phr), lead sulphate (0.1-1) and glycidyl mono stearate (0-1 phr); plastisizer used is a mixture of chlorinated paraffin wax (0-40 phr), dioctyl phthalate (40-80 phr) and dibutyl phthalate (0-20 phr); additive used is a mixture of Titanium dioxide (0.2-3 phr), calcium stearate (0.1-5

phr), stearic acid (0.1-2 phr), carbon balck (0.008-0.1 phr) and Micro crystalline wax (0.1-0.5 phr); Rodent repellent used is a mixture of cycloheximide (0.25-2.0 phr), tetramethyl thiunram disulphide (2-5 phr), methyl anthranilate (0-5 phr) and Zinc dimethyl dithiocarbamate (0-6 phr); Anti-fungal agent is selected from chlorhexidine, bis-ganazines, Triethyle organotic or 10, lO'-oxy bisphenoxar sine.
In accordance with this invention a rodent repellent and antifungal composition is prepared by taking 100 parts resin preferably poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) into a ribbon blender 1-10 per hundred resin (phr) is added into the blender and the step of blending is done for 3-5 minutes, 40-80 phr plastisizer is added into said blender and mixing is done till a free flow powder is obtained, 0.5-6 phr additives, 0.25-10 phr rodent repellent and 0.25-5 phr antifungal agent are added into said mix and mixing is done for 5-10 minutes to get free powder composition .
The composition so obtained is then subjected to the conventional step of film making. The thickness of the film is in the range of 100-250 micron. The film so prepared is laminated onto a bitumen-jute laminate which is used as the rodent repellent and anti-fungal material/sheet and also as moisture proofing and water proofing material. It is found that no rodents and fungus is present in the godowns even after a long time.

The stablizer is a mixture of Tribasic lead stearate, dibasic lead sulphate, lead sulphate and Glycidyl mono-stearate mixed in the amount of 0.7-5 phr, 0.2-3 phr, 0.1-1 phr and 0-1 phr respectively.
The plastisizer used is a mixture of chlorinated paraffin wax (0-0.4 phr), dicotyl phthalate (40-80 phr) and dibutyl phthalate (0-20) mixed together.
The additives used is a mixture of Titanium dioxide (0.2-3), calcium stearate (0.15 phr), stearic acid (0.1-2 phr), carbon black (0.008-0.1 phr) and Micro crystaline wax (0.1-0.5 phr);
The rodent repellent material used is cycloheximide, tetramethyl thiuram disulphide, methyl anthranilate, or Zinc dimethyl dithiocarbamate alon or a mixture thereof in the amount of 0.25-2, 2-5, 0.5 and 0.6 respectively.
The antifungal agent used is chlorhexidine, Bisguanazines, Triethyl organotin or 10, lO'-oxy bisphenoxar sine.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modification, changes and adaptations in actual practice. Such variant embodiments incorporating the concepts and features of the present invention, are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-



WE CLAIM
1. A rodent repellent and antifungal composition comprising 1-10 phr stabilizer, 40-80 phr plastisizer, 0.5-6 phr additive, 0.25-10 phr rodent repellent, 0.25-5 phr anti-fungal agent and 100 parts resin preferably polyvinyl chloride (PVC) mixed together and in the form of a free flow powder wherein:-

glycidyl mono stearate (0-1 phr);
- plastisizer used is a mixture of chlorinated paraffin wax (0-
40 phr), dioctyl phthalate (40-80 phr) and dibutyl phthalate
(0-20 phr);
- additive used is a mixture of Titanium dioxide (0.2-3 phr),
calcium stearate (0.1-5 phr), stearic acid (0.1-2 phr), carbon
balck (0.008-0.1 phr) and Micro crystalline wax (0.1-0.5
phr);
- Rodent repellent used is a mixture of cycloheximide (0.25-
2.0 phr), tetramethyl thiunram disulphide (2-5 phr), methyl
- anthranilate (0-5 phr) and Zinc dimethyl dithiocarbamate (0-6
phr);
- Anti-fungal agent is selected from chlorhexidine, bis-
ganazines, Triethyle organotic or 10, lO'-oxy bisphenoxar
sine.
2. A rodent repellent and antifungal composition substantially as herein described.
