middle limb, v) the actuating limb comprises a lower member having a seat and
the actuator has a stopper member held to the lower end of said
actuator and adopted to set on the seat of the lower member.
In accordance with the invention the first limb is an inlet pipe having an inlet end adapted to be in flow communication with water in said cistern. The inlet pipe has an outlet end adapted to be in flow communication with said middle limb. The middle limb is middle pipe connected to the outlet end of said first limb.
The actuating limb comprises an upper member and being a tubular member with an actuator adapted to be displaced within said tubular member. The actuating limb further comprises a lower member having a seat. The actuator has a stopper member held to the lower end of said actuator and adopted to set on the seat of the lower member.

DESCRIPTION WITH REFERENCE TO DRAWINGS;
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent none of the ensuing description where read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows a side view of the flushing device of the present invention.
Fig. 2 shows a front view of the flushing device; and
Fig. 3 shows an exploded view of the actuating limb of the flushing
device.
Fig. 4 shows perspective view of present invention.
Fig. 5 shows flushing device in a cistern.
Referring to figures 1, 2 8B 4, the flushing device 1 of the present invention may be made of any suitable material. However, as device 1 would be substantially emmersed in water present in the cistern, it is preferred that flushing device 1 be made of any non corrosive material, such as plastic.
Flushing device 1 comprises an inlet limb 2, which specifically is in the form of a tube, and has an inlet end 2a and an outlet end 2b. Tube or limb 2 is an upright member and disposed in an upright position within the cistern. Thus, in a water filled condition of the cistern, water enters limb or tube 2 upto only that level as present in the cistern. Such a level is shown by way of example by plantain lines and which corresponds to the level of water within the cistern. Preferably, the water level should be in the proximally of the outlet 2b.

Flushing device 1 further comprises an intermediate or middle limb 3 also in the form of a tube. Tube 3 has an upper end 3a in flow communication with inlet tube 2 through a connecting limb or tube 4. Tube 3 has an outlet end 3b connected to a discharge tube (not shown) for the discharge of water. In a discharge condition water flows from inlet tube 2 into intermediate tube 3 through connecting tube 4. However, in an inoperative condition, water is retained only in tube 2.
Reference is now made to fig. 3 which illustrates an exploded view of the actuating or control limb 5. Actuating limb 5 is connected to intermediate limb 3 through an interconnecting tube 6. Control limb 5 comprises an upper member 7 and a lower member 8. Upper member 7 has a plunger 9, which as its upper end is adapted to be connected to an actuator (not shown). Thus, upon actuation of the actuator, plunger 9 is adapted to be raised. Plunger 9 has a closure 10 at the lower end, which is adapted to sit on a seat 11. In an inoperative position and when actuator (not shown) is not actuated, closure 10 sets on seat 11. However, upon actuation of the actuator and where plunger 9 is an a raised position and closure 10 is also in a raised position, a vacuum is created in the middle limb (3). In such a condition, water is allowed to enter into intermediate limb 3 front inlet tube 2, which causes a discharge of water from the cistern through the discharge tube.

I CLAIM:
1. A flushing device (1) for use in a cistern characterized in that:
i) a first limb (2) adapted to be in flow communication with the water
level within said cistern, ii) a middle limb (3) disposed in a spaced relationship to said first
limb, iii) said middle limb being connected to an outlet pipe for discharge of
water, iv) an actuating limb (5) disposed away from said middle limb and
having an actuator adopted to be displaced within said actuating
limb and such as to cause the flow of water from said first limb
into said middle limb, v) the actuating limb comprises a lower member (8) having a seat (11)
and the actuator has a stopper member (10) held to the lower end
of said actuator and adoptecj to set on the seat of the lower
member.
2 A flushing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first limb is an inlet pipe having an inlet end (2a) adapted to be in flow communication with water in said cistern.
3 A flushing device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the inlet pipe has an outlet end (2b) adapted to be in flow communication with said middle limb.

4. A flushing device as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the actuating limb comprises an upper member (7), which is a tubular member.
5. A flushing device for use in cistern substantially as herein described and illustrated.
