COMPLETE SPECIFICATION [SECTION 10; RULE 13]
"DISPENSER"
CLEAR PLASTICS LTD., AN INDIAN COMPANY INCORPORATED UNDER THE COMPANIES ACT. 1956, HAVING ITS REGISTERED OFFICE AT C- 130, SOLARIS-I, OPOSITE L&T GATE NO. 6, POWAI, MUMBAI-400 072, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA.
THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE NATURE OF THIS INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED: -

FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a 'Dispenser'. More particularly, the present invention relates to a dispenser for dispensing liquids, powder/dust or any other dispensable contents.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:
Users employ multiple operations while using the existing containers for dispensing the substances. Following are few examples of the present dispensers:
Presently, known dispensers have a container and a lid, wherein the lid is opened by either unscrewing it or pulling it up. Thereafter, the container is tilted to dispense the contents thereof and after the required contents are dispensed the lid is fitted thereon by screwing or press fitting.
Other known dispensers have a flip open lid to dispense the contents. Dispensers are also known with dispensing holes, which are rotated to open, thereby dispensing the contents and are again rotated back to close the holes.
Yet another form of dispenser is provided with a slider, which when pressed upwards or sideways opens the holes. To close the holes, the slider needs to be pulled down till the holes are blocked.
However, all the aforesaid closures known in the prior art require multiple operations namely, (i) opening of the closure, (ii) dispensing of the contents and (iii) closing of
2

the closure. Sometimes users forget to close the closure resulting into loss of contents. The requirement of multiple operations is a major drawback.
OBJECT OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:
The present invention obviates the aforesaid drawbacks by providing a container with closure to dispense the contents in one action. As soon as the action is over, the container closes automatically.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:
According to this invention a dispenser comprises of a container having resilient body and a resilient diaphragm covering its neck, the said resilient diaphragm has at least an orifice sitting on a surface sealing the orifice. The container may be closed by a lid having a resilient diaphragm as a part of its top surface. Further, the said surface is held by the neck of the container or the lid. Still further, the said resilient diaphragm is concave.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:
The invention will now be described with reference to the figures accompanying this complete specification however the said figures only illustrate the invention and in no way limit the invention. In the said figures same numerals are used to denote the same parts.
3

Figure 1 shows the cross-sectional front view at the centerline of the dispenser, when no pressure is applied on the said container.
Figure 2 shows the cross-sectional front view at the centerline of the dispenser, in an inverted position, when pressure is applied on the said container to lift the said resilient diaphragm, wherein that part of the said orifice which is in contact with the said projection on the said spacer, looses the said contact thus opening the orifice through which the contents inside the said container is dispensed.
Figure 3 shows a cross sectional front view at the centerline of the said dispenser with closure in the locked mode.
Referring to the aforesaid figures I & 2 the dispenser comprises of a container (1) having an opening and is resilient in nature. A lid (2) comprises of a resilient diaphragm (3) that is concave in shape with respect to the top surface of lid (2), when the closure is in a closed state/position. A spacer (5) having a projection (6) is assembled with the lid (2) or the container (1) such that the bottom side of the orifice (4) sits on the projection (6).
WORKING OF THE INVENTION
To dispense the contents in the container (1), one needs to bring the dispenser in a pourable position such that upon applying a pressure on the container (1), air pressure is built inside the container (I) which raises the resilient diaphragm (3) together with the orifice (4), thus opening the orifice (4), enabling dispensation of the contents.
4

In a preferable embodiment of the present invention as shown in figure 3, a mechanism to lock the resilient diaphragm (3) from lifting up is provided so as to avoid spillage of contents, inadvertently. This is achieved by moving the lid (2) vertically to a position where a projection (6) provided on the top surface of the spacer (5), beneath the orifice (4) and meshing with the orifice (4), in the closed position of the closure in its unlocked mode, further penetrates the bottom side of the orifice (4), thereby raising the resilient diaphragm (3) to its maximum extent such that no further pressure will raise the resilient diaphragm (3).
5

We Claim:
1) A dispenser comprising of a container having resilient body and a resilient
diaphragm covering its neck, the said resilient diaphragm has at least an orifice sitting
on a Projection sealing the orifice.
2) A dispenser as claimed in claim I wherein the container is closed by a lid
having a resilient diaphragm as a part of its top surface.

3) A dispenser as claimed in claim 2 wherein, the said Projection is held by the neck

of said container or said lid.
4) A dispenser as claimed in claim I wherein the said resilient diaphragm is concave.
5) A dispenser substantially as herein described with reference to the drawings accompanying this complete specification.
