This invention relates to a torch for use in the silkworm industry. In particular, though not limited thereto, the torch of the present invention may be employed for effectively cleaning and sterilising the floor of rearing houses, grainages and rearing appliances normally employed in the rearing of silkworm.
PRIOR ART
At present, two methods are followed by the farmers to clean floss in mountages, namely:
1. Manual cleaning by wiping the floss in the mountages using coconut broom stick;
2. Burning of floss with kerosene blow lamp (by exposing to direct flame. The kerosene blow lamp also cleans the dirts in wire mesh fixed in windows and doors of rearing house and grainages to prevent entry of natural enemies of silkworm.
Manual cleaning is done by removing the floss in the mountages with coconut broom stick. It is time consuming and laborious. Small quantities of floss and dirts are left over on the mountages, and also pathogens are left alive on the surfaces, chemical disinfection is required to be undertaken.

It is known to employ a kerosene blow lamp to clean floss in mountages. Cleaning of mountages of a kerosene blow lamp is comparatively more effective than manual cleaning as it burns almost all floss and dirt as well as destroys the pathogens when the surface is exposed to flame while cleaning. However, kerosene blow lamp has the following limitations.
1. Large scale operations using kerosene blow lamps are expensive, much cumbersome and also time consuming due to narrow coverage by its flame.
2. The blue flame comes only after heating the burner and nozzle by burning some quantity of kerosene. In the process, substantial amount of smoke is emitted.
3. It requires pumping air by hand frequently to get adequate pressure which breaks continuity of operation and this delays the operation.
4. It requires often cleansing of the nozzle which otherwise gets blocked and gives irregular flame. This causes interruptions in the work.
5. There is no regulation of blowing flame.
6. Kerosene fumes released due to any interruption or while putting off irritate eyes and also suffocation of person at work.

7. Heating up of fuel tank alongwith handle during continuous operation, bending and raising hands of workmen to reach lower and higher spots are the features which cause drudgery to users.
8. Due to its limitations, the KBL cannot be used for additional works like disinfection of floor, walls, rearing articles, etc. as well.
Chemical disinfectants are also known to clean floss in the mountages. However, most of the chemical disinfectants are health hazardous. They irritate eyes and respiratory tract of workmen causing health hazards on indiscriminate use. Further, non-application of recommended dose and quantity of disinfection by farmers leads to disease outbreak,
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An object of this invention is to propose a torch for cleaning of floss and sterilising the floor of rearing houses, grainages and rearing appliances.
Another object of this invention is to propose a torch for cleaning of floss and sterilising the floor of rearing houses, grainages and rearing appliances which has a flow output wider than normally provided by a kerosene blow lamp.
Yet a further object of this invention is to propose a torch for cleaning of floss and sterilising the floor of rearing houses, grainages and rearing appliances which is convenient to use.

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided a torch for cleaning and sterilising of rearing houses, grainages and rearing appliances for silkworm rearing comprising a torch head connected to one end of a hollow mould, the opposite end of the hollow mould connected to a lance of an adjustable length, said lance connected to a fuel source such as a LPG gas cylinder through a hole.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description and when read in conjection with the help of the accompanying drawings wherein-
Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of the torch of the present invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, the torch 1 comprises a torch head 2 to consist of a burner 2A and a burner ring 2B. Burner head 2A has a plurality of apertures or holes 2C to allow air to be introduced therein so as to provide a combustor. Burner head 2 is adapted to be connected to a fuel source 3 as a LPG gas cylinder. Cylinder 3 is connected to hose 4 through an adaptor 5 and regulator 6. Regulator 6 controls the flow of fuel to burner head 2. Hose 4 is connected to a first hand grip 5. Hand grip 5 may be made of any suitable material, such as rubber and comprises a hand grip for holding the lance. One end of hand grip 5 is connected to a pipe 6A through threads 7,8. The other end of pipe 6A is connected to a second hand grip 5B which may also be similarly made of rubber. In a likewise manner, one end of grip 5B is connected to 6B through threads 7, 8, said grip 5 arrangement constituting a lance. The lance further comprises a hollow mould 8 to a control knob 9 for controlling the flow of fuel and for providing required flame outwards.




WE CLAIM;
1. A torch for cleaning and sterilising of rearing houses, grainages and
rearing appliances for silkworm rearing comprising a torch head
connected to one end of a hollow mould, the opposite end of the
hollow mould connected to a lance of an adjustable length, said lance
connected to a fuel source such as a LPG gas cylinder through a hole.
2. A torch as claimed in claim 1 wherein said torch comprises a burner
head or a burner having a burner ring at one end, said burner head
having a plurality of spaced apertures or holes for introduction of
combustible air.
3. A torch as claimed in claim 1 wherein said hollow mould has a control
knob.
4. A torch as claimed in claim 1 wherein said lance comprises a first and
second hand grip, a pipe threaded to one end of each of said hand
grips, said mould by threaded to one end of second hand grip.
5. A torch for cleaning and sterilising flow of rearing houses, grainages
and rearing appliances substantially as herein described.
