Abstract |
The can comprises two circular terminal elements (4, 5), forming the base and the lid and a can sleeve with fold lines (14) forming edges (1). Said can has a can sleeve (2) which has a circular cross-section at both ends and an essentially polygonal cross-section in the mid-region thereof, whereby the mid-region has an at most dodecagonal, preferably hexagonal or octagonal embodiment. The method for production of said can comprises drawing the can sleeve (2) which is already closed around the circumference and is prefolded in a polygonal form, onto a circular intermediate forming mandrel (3). A first circular terminal element (4) is thus introduced at one end of the can sleeve (2), the can sleeve (2) is withdrawn from the intermediate forming mandrel (3), optionally filled and a second circular terminal element (5) mounted on the other end of the can sleeve (2).
