| Abstract | TITLE: A METHOD FOR CONVERTING A SATURATED HYDROFLUROCARBON. There is disclosed a method for converting a saturated hydrofluorocarbon to a fluoromonomer precursor comprising replacing one or more hydrogen atoms of the saturated hydrofluorocarbon with a halogen atom in the presence of a halogenating agent to produce the fluoromonomer precursor, wherein the saturated hydrofluorocarbon comprises one or more of C3F7H, CF3CH2CF3, C3F5H3, C2F5H, C2F4H2, C2F3H3, C2F2H4 and CF3H and the replacing occurs in the absence of catalytic ultraviolet radiation. |
