| Abstract | The invention relates to a switch having a main track and a branch track, whereby one rail of each track is provided in the form of a switch tongue blade, and can be moved into contact with the respective stock rail. At least one stock rail (1) is, in the area where it comes into contact with the switch tongue blade (2), provided with a rail head width that is narrower than the area located outside of the area of contact. The width of the rail head, starting from the switch tongue tip (3), decreases up to a point (4), at which the carrying wheel comes into lateral contact with the switch tongue blade (3), and increases in the area beyond this point. The cross-section of switch tongue blade (2) is reinforced up to the stock rail (1) according to the reduction of the width of the stock rail head. |
