Title of Invention

"A SOLAR LIGHT DEVICE"

Abstract Abstract The Security and Fashion Solar Light works without an external power source or replaceable batteries. Numerous situations in road traffic, disaster areas, dangerous working conditions, or extreme isolation require good visibility of people and gear, and lead to the development of a device which ensures this without any extra effort by the user. The shape and color of the Security and Fashion Solar Light are quite freely adaptable to the intended purpose and opens a certain field to creative design. The Security and Fashion Solar Light consists of solar cells (4) mounted on a hard or flexible foil. This solar cell (4) laminate produces the power feeding the accumulators (5), which can be compiled to small or large powerpacks (5) - depending on the intended use of the device. An electronical control unit (6) regulates the charge and discharge processes of the accumulators (5). A Switch or a button (1) is used to activate the luminescent light element (2). Depending on the purpose, the activation can be automated by photocell (3).
Full Text The present invention relates to a solar light device.
The invention encompasses a Security and Fashion Solar Light based on a device which is driven by solar power and thus independent of an external power source, serving the purpose of enhancing visibility and security in the dark by activating a luminescent foil. It is the goal of this invention to create such a Security and Fashion Solar Light. This task is solved according to the specifications given in Patent claim 1.
Figure 1 shows a circuitry diagram and Figure 2 an example of a Security and Fashion Solar Light according to the invention. The Security and Fashion Solar Light consists of solar cells 4 mounted on a hard or flexible foil. This solar cell laminate 4 produces the power feeding the accumulators 5, which can be compiled to small or large powerpacks 5 -depending on the intended use of the device. An electronical control unit 6 regulates the charge and discharge processes of the accumulators 5. A switch or button 1 is used to activate the luminescent light element 2. Depending on the purpose, it may be useful to automate the activation of the device. In such a case, one or several photocells 3 give activating impulses to the control unit 6 under low light conditions. As shown in Fig. 1 and 2, manual switches 1 and photocells 3 can be used in combination. The lighting element 2 consists of a hard or flexible luminescent foil which can be chosen in different colors according to the intended signaling function. Due to the physical flexibility of both the power-generating and the luminescent components and the choice in shapes and colors, the device is open to creative design and will therefore also be applies in the commercial fashion industry.
Accordingly, there is provided a solar light device which is activated at the onset of darkness, which self-charges with solar energy, and is independent of any source of energy characterized in that it comprises:
a hard or flexible luminescent layer of foil;
solar cells or a solar cell laminate for operating the luminescent layer of foil;
at least one accumulator for accumulating energy from the solar cells;
control system electronics for regulating the charging and discharging process of the at least one accumulator and for controlling operation of the luminescent layer of foil, the luminescent layer of foil serving to increase visibility.

WE CLAIM:-
1. A solar light device which is activated at the onset of darkness,
which self-charges with solar energy, and is independent of any
source of energy, characterized in that it comprises:
a hard or flexible luminescent layer of foil;
solar cells or a solar cell laminate for operating the luminescent layer of foil;
at least one accumulator for accumulating energy from the solar cells;
control system electronics for regulating the charging and discharging process of the at least one accumulator and for controlling operation of the luminescent layer of foil, the luminescent layer of foil serving to increase visibility.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the solar cell laminate
or solar cells have a hard or flexible layer of foil, and the solar cell
laminate or the solar cells are mounted on the hard or flexible layer of
foil.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said control system electronics has a control element for operating the luminescent layer of foil, the control element being designed as a snap switch, key-button and/or photo cell.
4. The device as claimed in claim 1 for increasing the safety for all outer clothing, helmets, headgear of all kinds, protective and working clothes, costumes of all kinds, school-bags, rucksacks and bags of all kinds, toys and baby- strollers and any other articles of the kind such as herein described.
5. A solar light device substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
