| Abstract | The present invention relates to a modified particle comprising a particle having attached a group having the formula: wherein A represents at least one aromatic group or at least one alkyl group; R<sup>4</sup> represents a bond, an arylene group, an alkylene group, -NHR<sup>5</sup>-,-S-, R<sup>4</sup>_, - NR<sup>5</sup>, wherein R<sup>4</sup> is an alkyl or alkylene group or an aryl or arylenc group; R2 and R3 which can be the same or different, represent hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group, -OR5, -NHR<sup>5</sup>,-NHR<sup>5</sup>, or -SR<sup>5</sup> wherein each R<sup>5</sup>, which is the same or different, represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; and SFR represents a stable free radical. |
