Title of Invention

BINDING MOLECULES DERIVED FROM IMMUNOGLOBULINS WHICH DO NOT TRIGGER COMPLEMENT MEDIATED LYSIS.

Abstract A recombinant antibody comprising a bind domain which is capable of binding a target molecule, and, sn effector domain; wherein the recombinant antibody is capable of binding the target molucule without triggering significant complement dependent lysis, or cell medicated destruction of the target , and wherein the effector domain is capable of specifically binding FcyRllb, and a chimeric domain which is derived from two or more human immunoglobulin heavy chain CH2 domains, which human immunoglbulins are selected from lgG1, lgG2 and lgG4, and wherein the chimeric domain is a human immunoglobulin heavy chain CH2 domains which has the following blocks of amino acids at the stated positions: 233P, 234V, 235A abd 236G and 327G, 3305 and 331S in accordance wit the EU numbering system, and is at least 98% identical to a CH2 sequence (residues 321-340) from human lgG1,lgG2 or lgG4 having said modified amino acids.
