Title of Invention

"A REFRIGERATOR HAVING A WATER DISPENSER"

Abstract This invention relates to a refrigerator having a water dispenser, and wherein access to water can be made without the requirement of opening the refrigerator door. The water dispenser comprises a water container disposed within the refrigerator and in flow communication with a connecting pipe through a valve assembly. The connecting pipe extends within the door and terminates into an outlet end exterior to the refrigerator, a spring loaded valve actuated by a lever provided in the proximity of the terminating end so as to provide a discharge of water.
Full Text F1ELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a refrigerator having a water dispenser. The water dispenser has tap or discharge end projecting outwardly of the outer surface of the cabinet or front door of the refrigerator. An apparent advantage of such a manner of providing a water dispenser is that access to water may be provided without the necessity of opening the refrigerator door.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Refrigerator having an ice cube dispenser are known in the art. However, such dispenser are disposed within the refrigerator, and it thereby becomes necessary to open the refrigerator door whenever ice is required. A constant opening and closure of the refrigerator door does affect the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
An object of this invention is to propose an improved refrigerator having a water dispenser.
Another object of tis invention is to propose a refrigerator having a dispense with an outlet disposed externally of the refrigerator, and whereby it does not become necessary to open the refrigerator door whenever water is required.
Yet another object of this invention is to propose a refrigerator with a water dispenser which is simple in construction.
Still another object of this invention is to propose a refrigerator with a water dispenser, which is efficient.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided a refrigerator having a water dispenser wherein refrigerator comprises of a conventional refrigerator characterized in that it is provided with a water container assembly with a connecting pipe wherein water container assembly is provided on the inside of the door of athe refrigerator and the said connecting pipe extending outwardly through the said door and has inlet with plate and outlet provided with a tap disposed outwardly of the door wherein further said water container assembly comprises a water container having an outlet, a valve assembly comprising a push lever disposed within vlave housing, a washer between said vlave housing and said push lever, with said vlave housing having inlet end adapted to be connected outlet by means of spring and spring holder and wherein the said connecting pipe is provided with a valve with a pushlever in the proximity of the said outlet of the said connecting pipe.
DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and wherein: Fig. 1 shows a sectional view of the refrigerator door of the present invention; and Fig.2 shows an exploded view of the water container assembly.
Referring to the drawings, the water dispenser is provided with the door 10 of a refrigerator and comprises a water container assembly provided inside the refrigerator and a discharge or outlet exterior to the refrigerator. Thus, a distinct advantage provided by the refrigerator of the present invention is that it is no longer necessary to open door 10 to have access to water.
The water container assembly comprises a water container 1 provided on the inside of the refrigerator door 10, said container 1 having an outlet 1 a. A valve assembly is removably held to outlet la and also disposed within said refrigerator. The valve assembly comprises a push lever 4 disposed within valve housing 6. A washer 5 is provided between valve housing 6 and push lever 4. Valve housing 6 has an inlet end adapted to be connected to outlet la. Push lever 4 is spring loaded by means of a spring 3. The valve assembly has a spring holder 2.
In a closed position of the valve assembly, and which arises when the valve assembly is not connected to the connecting pipe 8, spring 3 exerts a downward pressure on push lever 4, and whereby outlet 5a is closed.
Connecting pipe 8 has an inlet end 8a with a plate 8b. Thus, when the valve assembly is held or connected to connecting pipe 8, plate 8b acts on push lever 4 and displaces in the upward direction and thereby causes outlet 5a to be in an open status and water is allowed to flow into connecting pipe 8.
Connecting pipe 8 extends through door 10 of the refrigerator and has an outlet 8c with a tap 11 disposed outwardly of door 10. A valve 12 with a push lever 9 is provided in the proximity of the outlet 8c of connecting pipe 8. The construction of valve 12 and push lever 9 is known in the art.

WE CLAIM;

conventional refrigerator characterized in that it is provided with a water
container assembly with a connecting pipe (8) wherein water container
assembly is provided on the inside of the door (10) of the refrigerator and
the said connecting pipe extends outwardly through the said door and has
inlet 8(a) with plate 8(b) and outlet 8(c) provided with a tap (11) disposed
outwardly of the door wherein further said water container assembly
comprises a water container (1) having an outlet l(a), a valve assembly
comprising a push lever (4) disposed within valve housing (6), a washer (5)
between said valve housing and said push lever, with said valve housing
having inlet end adapted to be connected to outlet l(a) by means of spring
(3) and spring holder (2) and wherein the said connecting pipe (8) is
provided with a valve (12) with a pushlever (9) in the proximity of the said
outlet (8c) of the said connecting pipe (8).
