Title of Invention | AN INTERCHANGABLE GRILL ASSEMBLY FOR TEXTILE PLUCKING MACHINE |
---|---|
Abstract | This invention relates to interehangable grill assembly for textile plucking machines. It consists of two longitudinal frame members. Plurality of grill bars are spacedly disposed between the frame members. The frame members are provided with guiding means to guide fibre to the space between the grill members. |
Full Text | This invention relates to an interchangable grill assembly for textile plucking machines. In textile processing a plucking head arrangement consisting of at least one plucking roller having a set of plucking teeth arranged on its periphery opens a stock of row of fibres fed from both sides of a fibre processing machine, in particular, a fibre plucking machine. A grill arrangement is provided beneath the plucking rollers. The width of the spacing has direct impact on the inlet of the fibre and tuft formation such that higher inflow of fibre lead to high tuft formation while lower inflow of fibre improves fibre quality. Industry has to strike a compromise between high production, and high tuft formation and good quality fibre with low tuft and reduced production rate. Known methods for increasing fibre inflow are by lowering or lifting the fibre plucking rollers or by swivelling the plucking roller in the desired direction. Complicated machinery and driving elements are required for such lifting, lowering and swivelling of the plucking rollers. In order to overcome the above drawbacks, interchangable assembly of grills for plucking machines has been developed. The assembly consists of two longitudinal frame member which houses the grill bars in between. The grill bars are shaped so as to allow two plucking rollers to rotate in the opposite direction with respect to each other. Bars are shaped such that the plurality of teeth provided on the plucking rollers do not interface with each other. The grill assembly consists of guide means like shackles preferably made of stainless steel to guide the fibre material in the grill bars. Plurality of grill bars are provided between the frame members. The spacing of grill bars in one frame member may be different from the spacing in another member. For instance, spacing between grills in one assembly may be 60 mm while in another assembly, the spacing may be 120 mm. These assemblies may be mounted on the plucking head with the help of fasteners. Depending upon the quality of fibre to be produced and the desired production rate, these assemblies may be interchanged or switched. For instance when a grill with larger pitch spacing is mounted, the production rate is high and when a grill with smaller pitch space is used the inflow of fibre is relatively low, thus reducing the production rate. Interchanging of one grill assembly with another is effected manually. The interchangable grill assembly for textile plucking machine according to this invention comprises two longitudinally disposed frame members housing a plurality of sacredly disposed grill bars in between, said frame members having guiding means for guiding fibre inflow to the space between said grill bars. This invention will now be described with reference to the figure I in the accompanying drawings. Reference numeral 1 designates the frame member. Numeral 2 shows the grills and numeral 3 shows the guiding means such as shackles provided on the frame member for guiding the fibres. The spacing between two grill bars in this assembly is 120mm as indicated by the arrow. WE CLAIM: 1. An interchangable grill assembly for textile plucking machine comprising two longitudinally disposed frame members (1) housing a plurality of sacredly disposed grill bars (2) in between, said frame members having guiding means (3> for guiding fibre inflow to the space between said grill bars, 2. The interchangable grill assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the spacing between each of said grill bars is about 60mm. 3. The interchangable grill assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the spacing between each of said grill bars is about 120 mm. 4. The interchangable grill assembly as claimed in claims 1-3, wherein said guiding means are shackles made of stainless steel. 5. An interchangable grill assembly for textile plucking machine substantially as herein described with reference to figure 1 of the accompanying drawing. |
