Full Text | This invention related to water proofing compound is applicable on a cement / Lime concrete based new/old roof and wall surface. A) Development Background : In a tropical country like India, intensity of rainfall varies greatly from one place to the other. This necessitates suitable water proofing methods as far as longevity of the roof is concerned. In view of this, Govt. organisations CPWD & CRBT conducted extensive trials on the efficiency & specification of various waterproofing methods available in the market and finally observed the following limitations in the specification. : (a) Excessive high cost, (b) Additional Deed load, (c) Requires considerations for buildings at constrction stage. Present day use of bitumen felt as roof waterproofing is Prohibitive as : (i) It's life is maximum 4 to 5 years, (ii) renders the roof incessible, (iii) absorbe heat, (iv)costly when compared to life. In an effort to provide with a best alternative in this field, IRC RAINPROOF is came out with a highly effective as well as economical product. This product IRC RAINPROOF effectively reduces percolation of water through roofs and brick walls to zero. B) The product : IRC RAINROOF is a complex chemical solution with organic base with pore fillers and hardeners as admixtures. When applied, it fills the pores of the surfaces to a depth of 12mm and sets and hardens in contract with air thus leaves an impermeable top surface. This treatment is equally effective in old surface also. Application is very simple and easy and even an unskilled labourer can perform the operation under proper supervision. Technical information sheet Purpose = Present leakage of rainwater through hair cracks in all types of (old+new) R.C.C. and lime concrete roofs and make side walls damp proof and concrete hardener. Colour - Impermeable Finish - Same as before Surface - No layer Thickness Grouting under - 12mm Cement surface Drying Time - Touch dry 30.40 minutes Specific Gravity - 1.2 kg./Litre. Coverage - 12 sft. Application time - Dry Season No. of coats - 3 times in three days. Page No 3 Process This proofing compound is comprising that, basically hand mixing process in proper drum. Per each batch - First time 5 part of potable water with 15 part of sodium Cilicate put in the drum and stir well using a wooden stick @ 75 RPM upto 10 minutes at normal temperature. 2 time 0.300 part of copper sulphate in dust form (by hand grinder) with 3 part of water put in a another pot and after soluble of the Cu2so4 put in the proper drum with stir, upto 10 minutes. 3rd time 0.300 part of detergent powder 3 part of water in a another pot and after soluble put in proper drum with stir well as mentioned 4th time 0.300 part Molaoes with 3 part of water after mix put in proper drum with stiring 10 minutes. 5th time and last 0.300 part of formaline as preservative agent put in the proper drum and stir well with the ratio. Composition Water proofing compound with organic & inorganic base per each batch need . As like Sodium Silicate- 15 kgs., Copper sulpha te - 0.300 kg., detergent powder -0.300 kg., Molases - 0.300 kg., Formaline - 0.300 kg.,and water - 14 kgs. Application Diluted solution is sprayed on the dry, dust free surface in 3 uniform cpats and spread on the surface by rubber balde till absorption ceases. The coat is allowed to dry for 24 hrs. Drying time 30 to 40 minutes. Recording time 24 hrs. after the previous coat. To effect quick drying, hot blower may be employed. Sp.gr. 1.2 kg. Per litre No Chemical reaction after mixing of all agents each and other. Application Method Apply IRC in three coats on the surface by spraying with the following diluting ratios : 1 stCoat - 1 volume of IRC + _1½ volume of water 2nd Coat- 1 volume of IRC+1 volume of water 3rd Coat- 1 volume of IRC +½ volume of water Precautions : (i) The Surface shall be dry, clean and free from any dust and dirt. It required, wire brush may be used for scrubing. (ii) The surface should have a minimum gradient 1:200, (iii)The solution should be stirred well in the container before application. (iv)The container should be kept air tight. 1st Coat = (a) On the prepared surface, sprinkle little water, (b) Apply the solution (1 : l½ uniformly on the surface by spraying till absorption ceases, (c) Leave the surface undisturbed for 24 hrs. 2 nd Coat = (a) Firstly, sprinlklc litre water on the surface and scrub the surface by hard brooming. (b) Apply the solution (1:1) uniformly & follow steps (b) & (c) of 1 st Coat. 3 rd Coat =: (a) As in (a) of 2 nd Coat, (b) Apply the solution (1 : ½) uniformly & follow steps (b) & (c) of first Coat. Page No 4 I claims : 1) A waterproofing compund comprising organic & inorganic base per each batch need as like Sodium Silicate - 50% Copper Sulphate - 0.999%, Detergent Powder - 0.999/6 . Molases - 0.999%, Formaline - 0.999% and water - 46.62%. 2) This water proofing compound is comprising that, basically hand mixing process in proper drum, per each batch - First step 16.67% of Potatae water with 50% of Sodium Silicate put in the drum and stir well using a wooden stick 75 RPW upto 10 minutes at normal temperature. 2nd Step 0.999% part of Copper sulphate in, dust form (by hand grinder) with 9.99% of water put in a another pot and after, soluble of the Copper sulphate put in the proper doruro with stir, upto 10 minutes. 3rd Step 0.999% of determent powder 9.99% of water in a mentioned. 4th Step 0.999% of Molases with 9.99% of water after mix, put in proper drum with stiring 10 minutes, 5th step 0.999% of formalive as Preservative agent put in the proper drum and stir well with the ratio. 1) A waterproofing compund comprising organic & inorganic base per each batch need as like Sodium Silicate - 50% Copper Sulphate - 0.999%, Detergent Powder - 0.999% .
