AVALMIC-I HERBAL BASED DRUG CAPSULE PREPARATION

Abstract

A therapeutic composition from eight selected medicinal plants namely desmodium gangeticum piper nigrum,allium cepa,pongamia pinnata,cicer arietinum,plantago ovata,acacia arebica,cassia auriculata,has been prepared for thge treatment of patients suffering from HIV/AIDS/CANCER.The treatment with this composition has significantly increased the absolute CD4 count and reduced viral load in patients and normalized the immune system by tackling the causat5ive factors.

DESCRIPTION: The present Invention relates to a process for the preparation of AVALMIC -I a Herbal based medicine for curing the diseases HIV/ AIDS and CANCER. In spite of extensive laboratory trials and rapid advances in the understanding Of HIV/AIDS pathogenesis in the years following the identification of HIV, the pace Of discovery of an antiretroviral agent is less spectacular, observations on the effects And others indicate the need for change in the clinical treatment strategy and Development of a highly effective drug therapy. Particularly, since the virus develops Resistance to drugs, the treatment of the prohibitive cost of antiretroviral drugs the Treatment of opportunistic infections remains the only real choice open to a physician. Especially in developing country like INDIA. It is good that certain behavioral habits Like smoking, addiction to alcohol, etc., are not linked with its manifestation. Still it Remains a global problem. This present invention is process of herbal based drug preparation that can Arrest the progress and cure HIV/ AIDS ,HIV, HBV, HCV, STD(s) and Cancer . The person who is affected with HIV virus will have feverishness (malaise). The heat cannot be cured with the usage of any stream of medicine i.e. allopathic / Ayurveda /Homeo. Some doctor"s view and treat the patients based on the CD4 count And also see that the immunity increases. Even though the patient looks healthy, the Feverishness/body heat remains the same since virus is not killed. In such a case, the Immunity gained, in the mean while the weight increase or decrease all of a sudden And the patient may die ultimately. All this is happening because the medicines are Given to provide energy but are not being useful, because temporarily the patient regains The energy but also the virus strengthens. Medicinal properties and uses: It is a bitter tonic, febrifuge, digestive, anticatarrhal, alterative and tonic. The root of D. gcmgeticum is one of the ingredients of a famous Ayurvedic preparation Dashamoola kwaatha, which is considered to be antipyretic, alterative and a bitter tonic. It is reported to be beneficial in the treatment of typhoid, biliousness and also as a diuretic and aphrodisiac." Name Botanical Family Pan of the plain used Pongamia pinnata (Linn.) Pierre Fabaceae Bark of root (Syn. P.glabra Vent; Cystisus pinnata Linn; Indian beech) Pongamia pinnata is a medium-sized glabrous tree, up to 18 m. high, found almost throughout India up to an akitude of 1,200 m. and further eastwards. Pongamia pinnata is useful for diabetes, gonorrhoea, leprosy, skin diseases, rheumatism, sores The seeds are used for external application in skin diseases1-10,14-19,27-28 The oil from the seeds is used in leucoderma, cutaneous affection including herpes, scabies, and rheumatism. Internally the oil is used as a stomachic, cholagogue and in dyspepsia with sluggish liver. The seed crushed into a paste is used externally in bleeding piles. A decoction of the bark is given in beriberi, flowers are used as a remedy for diabetes, whereas the leaves in the form of a poulitice are applied in case of worm infected ulcers1-10,14-19 The root juice is used in fistulous sores and also for cleaning foul ulcers in gonorrhea and scrofiilous enlargement.. The plant is considered to be useful by tribals (santala) in leprosy3-10,27. The powdered seed is considered to be a good expectorant in bronchitis and whooping cough . Chemical Studies a number of compounds have been isolated and characterized from P. pinnata and the industrial use of some of the compounds have been established. The constituents and uses of the plant have been reviewed 6. Karanjin, the principal furanoflavonoid constituent of P.pinnata, was isolated nearly 6 decades ago from the seed oil ;as well as the roots9-10,27-28 Page 5 of20 The structure, constitution and synthesis of karanjin have been attempted by several groups of workers. Pongamia Pinnata seeds contains essential oils, complex amino acids glabrin , furano flavones Karanjin Pongapin, Ponga glabrone, many hypotensive Principles10. The ethanolic extract (50%) of P. pinnata roots was reported to be devoid of antibacterial, antifiingal, antiprotozoal, anthelmintic, antiviral, anticancer, hypoglycaemic, CVS and CNS activities""^-*". The essential oil from P. pinnata showed mild antifungal activity against keratinophillic ftmgi viz., Verticillium tenuipes, Malbranchea pulchella, Keratinophytontereum, and Chrysosporium tropicum . Psyllium Spogal seeds, Isabgol) Plantago ovata is a stemless or sub-caulescent soft, hairy found in the North-West India and is cultivated in Bengal and Kamataka-India. Plantago ovata seeds useful for seeds are demulcent, cooling and used in inflammatory conditions of the mucus membrane of gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts. It is used in chronic dysentery and in constipation "■"". Isabgol preparations are given after colostomy to assist the production of smooth solid faecal mass. The seeds are considered cooling, diuretic and also used in febrile conditions, the affections of kidneys, bladder, and urethra "". The alcoholic extract of P. ovata seeds, in small doses produced transient precipitous fall of blood pressure in cats and dogs, which could be locked by atropine sulphate. In higher doses, however, the extract produced a rise in blood pressure, the effect being abolished by hexamethonium bromide. The extract showed a fall in blood pressure in spinal cats revealed cholinergic properties"". Oil extracted fi"om P.ovata embryo showed a more potent hypochol-esterolemic effect than safflower oil in rabbits rendered hyper cholesterolemic. In normal rabbits, however, P. ovata embryo oil had no effect on the serum cholesterol levels. (Tanner"s Cassia) having the total weight up to 50% of the total herbal based drug composition as here in described. (b) a composition comprising the powder of 1. Pulpami (Desmodium gangetium) 2. Vallijam (Piper-nigrum) 3. Palandu (Allium cepa) 4. Kaaranjaka (Pongamia-pinnata) 5. Chanaka (Cicer arietinum) 6. Sidgha (Plantago Ovata) 7. Bharbura(Acacia Arabica) In a preferred embodiment the said composition of b) preferably consists of 10 to 30% of Pulapami Desmodium gangetium) 12 % to 35 %Vallijam ( Piper-nigrum). 8% to 25% of Palandu (Allium cepa),2% tol2% of Karanjaka (Pongamia -pinnata). 3% to 10% of Chanaka ( Cicer arietinum) 2% to 15% of Sigdha ( Plantago Ovata), 2% to 8% of Barbura (Acacia arabica). The herbal based drug composition as here in described is a preparatory mix of a herbal base as described in step a) above and a composition as described in step b) above. According to the present invention the herbal based drug composition where in either the herbal base or the composition described in step b) can be up to 50% weight by weight of the total herbal based drug composition. However variations with respect lo the drug composition are well within the scope of the present invention though such variations are not described with present specification. In another preferred embodiment the herbal based drug composition where in the herbal base prepared from Azardichta Indica(Neem, Margosa)and/or Cassia Auriculata Linn.(Tanner"s Cassia) having the total weight up to 50% of the total composition and the regaining 50% the powder of Pulapami (Desmodium gangetium) ,Vallijam ( Piper-nigrum), Palandu (Allium cepa), Karanjaka (Pongamia -pinnata), Chanaka ( Cicer arietlinum) , Sigdha (Plantago Ovata), Barbura ( Acacia arabica ). Accordingly the present relates to a process for the preparation of a herbal based drug composition comprising the steps of: (a) pulverizing the bark and or dried leaves of Azardichta lndica(Neem, Margosa)and/or Cassia Auriculata Linn.(Tanner"s cassia) thus preparing herbal base (b) burning the ingredients required to prepare the second composition either together or individually in the pot(s) placed beneath the soil surface for a period ranging from 15 to 30 hours. (c) homogeneously mixing the preparation of step (a) & (b) preferably in 1:1 ratio to obtain the herbal based composition. The process of burning the ingredients wherein the composition are burned together or burned in different pot(s) also. The process of burning the composition is completely immersed in the soil and a heating source is provided to heat the pot(s). The ingredients are heated till the ingredients become black without further change in colour. Generally thefemperature of the pot(s) is (area) raised and maintained to 200 degrees Celsius. The process of heating the pot(s) is/are subject to heating beneath the said surface. Attention is now directed to harness and harvest these natural sources to cure human health disorders. The present invention describes the method of use of therapeutic combination of plant material for the patients with dreaded diseases HIV/AIDS /Cancer and to develop immunity in the body system. Earlier studies carried out by this inventor during 1991 -1993 on patients infected by HIV / AIDS /Cancer provided important leads. The inventor in association with the hospitals namely King George Hospital- Vishakhapatnam. and Kakinada General Hospital, Andhra Pradesh, India conducted studies on HIV / AIDS/Cancer patients The medicine as absence of contra indication. Allium cepa , Pongamia pinnata, Cicer -arietinum, Plantago ovata, Acacia arebica, and Cassia auriculata for preparing medicines for the treatment of patients with HIV/AIDS. The characteristic of the raw material and the proportion in which they are used in preparing Page 11 of 20 The therapeutic preparation contains a mixture of plant materials from Desniodium gangeticum. Piper nigrum, Allium cepa , Pongamia pinnata, Cicer arietinum, Plantago ovata, Acacia arebica. Cassia auriculata. 2. This medicine promotes and maintains the immune system in patients by tackling the causative factor. It brings absolute CD4 count and reduces Viral load (HIV-RNA-PCR-ULTRA-QUANT) in HIV /AIDS patients, 3. This invention also helps in the restoration of damaged tissues/structures and promote normalization of the physiological activity of all the tissues. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION OF DRUG- AVALMIC -I This invention pharmacologically is a unique composition of AVALMIC-I acts on cellular mechanism of abnormal cellular collection, which is termed as "Valmeeka" in Ayurveda because it looks like a collection of Medhya particals with a rough surface. It is termed in modem mechanism as Cauliflower like growth. This invention is a unique composition, which acts not only on clinical manifestations of cancer but also on the cellular pathogens of disease. Pulpami which regularizes the process of "Dushitakapha" and regularizes its force in a physiological way with Vallijam. The herbal based preparation filled in to a gelatin capsule is ready to use and easily acceptable to the patients. The patients are instructed to follow the strict dietary regimen to facilitate smooth recovery from the dreadful disease. Adults : 1 capsule BD after having morning breakfast with buft"alo milk and after dinner with buffalo buttermilk for 2months. Children : ½ capsule BD for a period of " age x 3days" Eg : A child of age 6 years x 3days= 18 days. Diet : Break fast - (Idlies , Pulca , Bread ect) and the meals should not contain oil.salt and hot ( chilli powder, ect) for 15 days to 1 month according to the age. The dosage of this drug i.e. AVALMIC -1 should be taken simultaneously with the other drug i.e. AVALMIC -1 i for the effective complete remedy. CLINICAL TRIALS: The efficiency of the invention i.e. the herbal based drug capsules has been described with the help of the following table, which shows on the completion of full course of treatment for HIV (+ve) /AIDS 99% of cure if, he is not having T.B, Cancer like any dreaded diseases during or after treatment & follow our instructions till getting negative. The listed patients are declared positive by ELISA, WEATERN BLOT, DNA PCR Qualitative test /RNA PCR Qualitative (VIRAL. LOAD) tests, where CD4 absolute count and ratio were decreased. By using this drugs CD4 and CDS absolute count will come back to normal within 4 to 6 months after commencement of treatment Gradually the viral load comes down to absolute NEGATIVE with in 1 to 3 years depending on the virus present in the body, but symptoms disappear completely within 2 to 3 months. Certain patients who cannot afford the cost of viral load test in such cases - if all the bands come to negative within 1 year then it is ascertained that the patient must be having lOO"s of virus in 1 ml of blood i.e. all bands will come to NEGATIVE with in a period of 6 months to 1 year on the other hand if all the bands come to negative with in 2 years, it is concluded that the patient must be having 1000"s of virus in 1 ml of blood i.e gradually all bands will come to negative within lyear to 2 years. Similarly, if all bands come to NEGATIVE with in 3 years it is understood that the patient must be having lOOOOO"s of virus in 1 ml of blood i.e. gradually all bands will come to NEGATIVE with in a period of 3 years. A male patient aged 21 years was treated with these drugs tor cure. This patient suffered from Brain Tumor at the age of 5 years. He was operated for the same. After that he was in better heahh till 15 years. Later he was attacked with fits, then he undergone CT Scan and Blood tests on 2-5-2000. The out come is that he is suffering Page 15 of20 with HIV/AIDS (POSITIVE) and also Brain Tumor, He went to NIMS. Hyderabad. Where Neurologist informed that the tumor was growing and he cannot be operated as he was infected with HIV/AIDS He was treated with the drugs (both AVALMIC-1 & II) for 4 months i.e. from 9-5-2000 to 8-9-2000. Before treatment he got Elisa test done on 4-5-2000, whose reports showed that he was infected with HIV (POSITIVE). After 15 days of treatment Anorexia, Weight loss, feverishness (malaria), Diarrhea, cough, subsided. In 3 months time all other symptoms were completely cured. After 4 months of treatment with all diet restrictions as on due on date 9-9-2000 when he was tested with Elisa Test HIV-1 & II - turned out to be Negative . Another Elisa Test Was conducted on Dt: 18-9-2000, the reports showed HIV-I &. II antibodies negative (non reactive) and in Western Blot test HIV-I & II all bands turned HIV NEGATIVE (-ve).This patient may be having viral load in hundreds per ml plasma. So HIV II infection& I turned HIV NEGATIVE (- ve) immediately after treatment ADVANTAGES OF INVENTION 1. After undergoing the treatment the health condition of the patient becomes good remain same, the patient"s HIV report may indicate "-ve (Negative)" after 6 months, or after 1 year or 3 years. 10. The most important advantage of this invention is that one can have this drugs as a principle medicine and he can have Allopathy (English ) as a supportive or subsidiary in management of acute symtomatology as it is not contraindicated with any Allopathy Medicine. 11. CLAIM: I claim A herbal based drug composition for the treatment of viral diseases like HIV, HBV, HCV, STD(s), Cancer etc., comprising; (a) a herbal base prepared from Azadirchta India( Neem, Margosa) and /or Cassia Auriculata Linn.(Tanner"s Cassia) having the total weight up to 50% of the total composition, (b) a composition comprising the powder of 1. Pulaparni( Desmodium gangetium) 2. Vallijam (Piper-nigrum), 3. Palandu (Allium cepa) 4. Kamajaka (Pongamia -pinnata) 5. Chanaka( Cicer arietinum) 6. Sigdha( Plantago Ovata) 7. Bharbura ( Acacia arebica ) having the remaining percent by weight of the total composition. Page 17 of 20 2. The herbal based drug composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein (a) & (b) are taken in 1:1 ratio. 3. The herbal based drug composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the whole plant preferably root or bark of Pulapami( Desmodium gangetium), seeds of Vallijam (Piper-nigrum), bulb of Palandu (Allium cepa), bark of root of Kamajaka (Pongamia -pinnata species), bark of root of Chanaka( Cicer arietinum) or chicken pea or bengal gram or a combination there of , seeds of Sigdha( Plantago Ovata) or Psyllium or Spogal seeds or Isabgol or a combination of seeds thereof and bark of root of Bharbura ( Acacia species ) or babul or a combination thereof are used for the preparation of as claimed in step b) of the claim 1. 4. The herbal based composition as claimed in the claim 1 wherein the composition of step(b) comprising ; 1. Pulaparni( Desmodium gangetium) ~ 10% to 30% 2. Vallijam (Piper-nigrum) -- 12%to35%> 3. Palandu (Allium cepa) - 8% to 25% 4. Kamajaka (Pongamia -pinnata) ~ 2% to 12% 5. Chanaka( Cicer arietinum) ~ 3% to 10% 6. Sigdha( Plantago Ovata) - 2% to 15% y.Bharbura (Acacia arabica) ~ 2%) to 8%i 5. A process for the preparation of a herbal based drug composition comprising the steps of; (c) pulverising the bark and or dried leaves of Azadirchta India( Neem, Margosa ) and /or Cassia Auriculata Linn.(Tanner"s Cassia) thus preparing herbal base; (d) burning the ingredients required to prepare the second composition as claimed in claim 1 either together or individually in the pot(s) placed beneath the soil surface for a period ranging from 15 hours to 30 hours; (e) homogenously mixing the preparation of steps (a) & (b) preferably in 1:1 ratio to obtain the herbal based composition. 6. The process as claimed in claim 5 wherein the components of step (b) are burned together.
