Title of Invention

PRESSURE AND DIRECTION CONTROLLED URINAL SPREADER

Abstract ABSTRACT The invention relates to Pressure and direction controlled urinal Spreader which iududes atwo piece water spreader unit for fitting and use in an urinal. It comprises of a top portion and a bottom cover which joined to form a continuous line of jointing along the entire length, excepting in a desired gap area of 0.6mm between the two portionB which is in the shape of en arc uniformly throughout the entire arc length. AH the components of urinal spreader being injection moulded components in ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) with chrome plating. The arc is of land length of 6mmand angled toward the wall of the urinal to the water to impinge at an constant argleof 20 to 25 degrees on the back wall of the iirinal thus preventing splashing. The top portion of the urinal spreader includes a throttle valve with quarter turn operation to change the flow of water from maximiun flow to minimiun flow relative to water pressure. Thus this improved and controlled rate of Qavr of water in urinal spreader is essential for hygic»iic and is also easy operable.

The invention relates to an improved and controlled rate of flow of water in Urinal. The use of water spreader to flush the urinal is a known art Uniform water spreader is essential for hygienic reason wherein water in the Urinal does not splash beyond the urinal but spreads uniformly on the walls of die urinal.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
The obtlect of the invention is to provide an inproved water spreader for urinal which is sturdy, easy to operate, economical and hygienic.
Another obrfect of tfiis invention is to provide a fiKrflity fhsm minimum flow to maximum flow without splashing beyond the urinal.
Another object of this invention is to provide a water spreader wherein the water spreader is adjustable to suit different inlet water pressures.
Another object of this invention is to provide a water spreader wherein the water is spread iwufbrmiy on the enbre surface of the urinal wall.
Another object of the invention is to eliminate single piece metal body of the spreader and eliminate corrosion in the urrit

D^CRTVTTOM OF IKVEtmOM
A two piece urinal spreader for fitting and use in an urinal, wherein pressure and direction of water are contrc^ied, having injection moulded components in fiBS (Acrylonithie-Butadiene-Styrena) with chroma plating, connprising of a top portion and a bottom cover, such that the said bottom cover may be Joined to top portion soas to ibrm a continuous line of Joir^ting along the enttne length, excepting in a gap area which is In the shape of an arc, said gap iMrtMaen the two portionB in the arc being 0.6 mm uniformly throughout the arc length, said arc being such as to cover a segmoit equal to 90 degrees of the urinal wall of the urinal, said an: haviiH} a land length of 6 mm and angled towards tlie wall of the said urinal so as to allow the angle of incidence of the water at a constant angte of 20 degrees across the arc, the said top portion having a throttle valve operable for a quarter valve to char>ge from rrvnlmum flow to maximum flow of water relative to water pressure.
Tlie invention relates to a two piece water spreader unit used in urinal, whereirv bottom cover of said spreader is joined to the top portion of the said spreader, such that when Joined together, the top portion and bottom cover are Joined all along the line excepting in a desirad gap araa wWch is a segment of equal to 90^ of ti>e urinal wall and whiich is in tiie siiape of an arc and the gap between the two pordons in the arc area is 0.emm uniformly throughout the entire arc length.

^ The invention further relates to an arc type of water spreader wherein the arc is such that water spread covers a segment equal to 9(y* on the urinal wall.
The invention further relates to an arr type of water spr«ad, wher«in the water impinged out an angle of 20 - 25 The invention further relates to an arc type water spread, wherein the land area of the arc is 6 mm and so directs the water thrT>ugh the gap.
The invention further relates to the water flow, wherein the opening of the arc is restricted to 0.6 mm, in width thus ensuring that only a thin flow of water flows out of the arc onto the wall to avoid sptashirx).
The inventton still further provides (br a throttle vaNe to adjust the rate of flow of water in the said spreader.
The invention stili further provides (br the spreader to be fitted into the slot correspondingly niade In the urinal urtit for fitment
CONSTRUCTION AS PBR THE IMVEMTIOM
The inversion comprises of pressure and direction controlled irinal spreader which is a two piece unit including throttle valve, sealing rings, fixing nuts, front

^te, bacic plate and an aesthetic outer cover, ail components being injection mouided components in ABS (Acryionitriie-ButBdiene-Styrene) with cl>rome plating.
MANNER OF WORKING OF THESPREADERAS PER TMElMVgMTIOM
The water impinges at an angle of 20 to 25 degrees on the back wall of the urinal thus preventing splashing. This angle is constant across the arc of the water spread. The land along the spread area «i5ures that the water coming out of the spreader is directed only towards the wall of the Urinal and does not spread out inTmediately after coming out of the slot
The spread is restricted to about 90 degrees^ thus directing all the water downwards without any splashing on the side VMIII of the urinal.
The gap in the sfxeader is oontnoHed with the two piece continuous Jointing along the entire length excepting for gap area thus restricting the water flow to a thin film.
A built In thnotde system adjusts the force of the water to suit different Inlet pressures. A quarter turn operation ensures change from mininrHim flow to maximum flow.

ADVANTAGES OF THE SPREADER AS PER THE INVENTION OVER CQtfYSNnQNAL SFReAMRS
The Pressure and Direction controlled Urinal Sfsreader is a two piece constructton. Conventional spreaders are essentially a single piece metal body with a horizontal slot cut into the body. The arc of the spread is such that it covers a segnrwnt equal to 90 degrees on the ininal wall ui^ike the conventional spreaders, which have a spread of about 180 degrees.
The angle of incidence of the water on the Urinal Wall is constant throughout the width of the spreader resulting in total coverage of the woridng area without splasNng on the user.
Dep^xiing upon the line pressure^ the rate of flow of water through the spreader can be unifbmrdy maintained by adjusting the throttle vah^e, eliminating the use of external throtding valve. This is useful where pipelines are concealed. Also the throttle valve can be set for the existing pressure so that the user does not need to control the flow at the time of use.
The Pressure and Direction controlled Urinal Spreader is made entirely out of Bigineering Plastics unlike conventional spreaders wNch are nomrtally nnade out of metal leading to corrosion and salt deposits, often clogging the spreader.
