A grinder motor (10) with a grinding wheel (11) held by a holding bracket is (12) mounted on the said sliding bracket (9). The sliding bracket (9) is provided with a feed control means (13) for controlling the grinding precisely in micron level and a wheel dresser (14) is attached to the main housing (3) for dressing the grinding wheel (11) to make the grinding wheel with a predetermined angle.
Full Text The invention relates to a valve seat grinding machine for grinding valves of engines.
The valve seat-grinding machine according to the invention is designed for grinding valve seat of engines without removing them from the cylinder head. It meets the requirement of high dimensional accuracy, easy to set up for operation and versatality. The grinding machine according to the invention uses a crush method of grinding which enables grinding of worn out exhaust and inlet valve seats in accordance with the specifications of the original equipment manufacturer without removing the valve seat from the cylinder head.
Thus the invention provides a valve seat grinding machine for grinding valves of engines, comprising a drive motor fixed to a main shaft, a universal spindle coupled to the said shaft and a main housing attached to said shaft; an angular slide, housed in a rotatable housing located in the main housing; the said angular slide being provided with a sliding means for sliding the angular slide through a predetermined angle settable by tilting the said rotatable housing; a vertical slide with a slide clamp; a horizontal slide with a sliding bracket; a grinder motor with a grinding wheel held by a holding bracket mounted on the said sliding bracket; the said sliding bracket being provided with a feed control means for controlling the grinding precisely in micron level and a wheel dresser is attached to the main housing for dressing the grinding wheel to make the grinding wheel with a predetermined angle.

The valve seat grinding machine according to the invention is described below in detail witth reference to the aocompanying drawings.
Fig, 1 shows a prefered embodiment of the valve seat grinding machine according to the invention.
Fig. 2 shows the front view of the valve seat grinding machine shown in fig. 1
Fig. 3 shows the back view of the valve seat grinding machine shown in fig. 1.
Fig. 4 shows the top view of the valve seat grinding machine shown in fig. 1.
The valve seat grinding machine comprises a drive motor (1) with a universal spindle (2) coupled to a main shaft (28) of the drive motor (1>. A main housing (3) is attached to the said shaft (28) and an angular slide
locating a horizontal slide
The sliding means for sliding the angular slide (4) through a predetermined angle settable by tilting the rotatable housing (5) preferably comprises a shaft attached to a gear system with a hand wheel (26) for imparting the sliding movement of said angular slide (4) and a clamp for releasing and arresting the tilting movement of rotatable housing (5). The wheel dresser (14) preferably consists of a dimond bit for dressing the grinding wheel (11).
The valve seat grinding machine according to the invention can be used to grind wide range of valve seats in a cost effective manner with high degree of precision of the order of a micron. The centering of the valve seat for grinding is achieved easily by means of the sliding guide bushes (15), the sliding nut (16) and the lock (17). The feed control means (13) can precisely adjust the feed depth up to one micron and it provides information regarding the depth of material removed by grinding.
The setting up of the machine and the operation of machine is made simple making it cost effective and the whole grinding operation takes much less time than that taken by the conventional valve seat grinding machines.
