This invention relates to a picture frame. The principal object of this invention is to have a picture frame which changes the picture by manipulating papers and one can see the same picture with more additions and / or different colour.
In the known picture frame it is the usual practice to insert the pictures into the frame and take out the picture in a convenient form without showing any addition or different colour. The known picture frame may be of wooden or metal types. In the wooden frames, it is the usual practice to fix nails into the frame and headends of the nails projecting out of the frame help to secure the photo with its backing plank or board in position, In the case of metal frames, it is the usual practice to have pivotally mounted clamps and one end of the clamp is slipped below the projecting flange or head of the frame. The difficulty in the known wooden and metal frames is with respect to the weight and inconvenience in hangjng the same because in the known picture frames, they will have to be covered with glass and there is a likelihood of the glass being broken.
By the present invention a flexible frame with a picture which may be constructed on a sheet of hard paper or a card board or a plastic or a thin sheet of metal can be easily formed around the picture and is easily secured in position by means of flexible attachments thereby forming a cheap and easy means of framing which can be readily effected by an amateur without the necessity of exercising much skill.
The benefits of the present invention being a Frame with slides are as follows:
(a) The frame can be carried in a convenient way as it has the
flexibility of cardboard or plastic or a thin sheet of metal which would be cut and assembled in such a way that it can be flexed in and out.

(b)

The cost of the picture frame is cheap and can be prepared by even an amateur.

(c) The picture frame will give advertisement, educative and entertainment value in a commercial or in a small scale way.
(d) The damage while handling the Frame is minimal and the cost of replacement, if any, for the damaged portion is much cheaper.
The invention is described as follows : It is a slidable picture article comprising an upper frame with two web like arms or projections fixed at the backside bottom edge of the upper frame and lower frame slidingly connected with each other, upper frame comprising a colour scenery and an outline diagram of the same scenery superimposed over the first one, the lower frame is having a window in which a transparent plastic sheet is fixed such that the upper edge of the plastic sheet is lying between the said two picture sheets of the upper frame and hidden by the horizontal upper arm of the lower frame such that when the two frames are brought into each other by sliding movement, the colour scenery of the upper frame vanishes and only outline diagram in black and white appears giving a magical effect.
In order that this invention may be clearly understood and readily carried into practice, a specimen of the picture frame is enclosed. The effect of the picture in the frame by flexing in and flexing out could be well seen. Reference may also be had to the appended explanatory sheet of drawings upon which -
Figure 1 shows the actual picture frame - the invention as a line drawing with one of the pictures as a line drawing and without any other addition.
Figure 2 is the same picture frame as it would appear when the arrow is pulled out - The same line drawing is changed to more details picture.

Figure 3 is a view of the folded frame, which is one part of the Frame, which consists of 3 layers of sheet. The outer layer is the frame as can be seen in Figure 1 and represented here as a part of the three fold sheet depicted in Figure 4. It is a square or a rectangular frame marked 'A'.
The back part of this folded frame is hard paper 'B' which is supporting frame 'A'. Between frame A and support B is a divider 'C made of stiff paper. Divider C is slightly smaller as shown in the figure, which does not touch the upper part which is joining frame A and support B.
Figure 4 gives details of how this frame looks, when it is unfolded or kept open before it is assembled.
In this figure, part A, B and C are separately shown 'A' is shown as the dotted front part of the frame B is the plain hard sheet on the back, front part of the frame.
Figure 5 and 6 show how the divider is used to carry the pictures and shuffle them as it is moved in and out. This is done by affixing a transparent sheet E. Two pictures one on the Sheet D itself and the other on the transparent sheet E are completely superposed so that only one picture simple without details is seen when the arrow is pulled out and in the other picture full details are seen when the arrow is pushed back.
Figure 6 is another view of the same Frame, where the transparent sheet 'E' is opened up to give a clear idea of how it is attached to the sheet 'D' with picture giving more details.
To assemble this device and to make the invention picture frame work, the device shown in Figure 5 or 6 is inserted in the frame or the device as shown in Figure 3. During assembly transparent sheet 'E' is inserted between part A and C or Figure 3 and Sheet 'D' with detailed picture is inserted between C and B of the same frame of Figure 3. This assembly is shown in Figure 7.

Once the part of Figure 6 marked with arrow is pushed in the frame Figure 3 you may see only simple line drawing with no details as in Fig. 1, But if part shown in Figure is pulled out, you can see a totally new picture.
Figure 7 gives a clear idea of how invention is worked and shows the view of how D & E sheets are arranged between A, C and B.
I CLAIM
1. A slidable picture article comprising an upper frame and lower frame slidingly connected with each other, upper frame comprising a colour scenery and an outline diagram of the same scenery superimposed over the first one, the lower frame is having a window in which a transparent plastic sheet is fixed such that the upper edge of the plastic sheet is lying between the said two picture sheets of the upper frame and hidden by the horizontal upper arm of the lower frame such that when the two frames are brought into each other by sliding movement, the colour scenery of the upper frame vanishes and only outline diagram in black and white appears giving a magical effect.
2. A sliding article of claim 1 wherein in the extending position of the frames, only colour scenery appears in the upper frame since the superimposed scenery in black and white and in the form of outline diagram exactly matches with the colour photo fixed below.
3. A sliding article of claim 1 wherein the upper frame comprised two webs like arms or projections fixed at the backside bottom edge of the upper frame and runs along the length of the upper frame and the bottom frame is having two slots at upper edge of the back side, such that the said two web like arms pass through the said slots providing sliding movement of the upper

frame into the lower frame and the upper frame does not detach from the lower frame in the extended position of the article.
A sliding article of claim 1 wherein the lower frame is in the form of pouch or purse like configuration to receive the upper frame into it by sliding movement.
A slidable picture article substantially as herein defined and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
