Abstract | ABSTRACT This invention relates to a silk reeling cum twisting machine. The machine has a basin secured with the base frame near the top side at one end thereof. A jetteboute mounted above the basin is provided for easy casting to the yarn. Twisting means are provided at the top of the frame towards the basin side. Spindles are mounted on the top of the frame of the machine opposite to the twisting means. A fly wheel adapted to be driven by drive means is mounted rotatably at the bottom of the frame below said spindles. Driving means are provided at the bottom frame opposite to the fly wheel for rotating the fly wheel. A swift is mounted on the top of the frame at the basin end for converting the silk into the hankform. |
Full Text | This inrention relates to a silk reelii^ and twisting amclme for muga and tassar silk. The known twisting machine for reeling Muga cocoons is manual in operation and equivalent to a single spindle reeling machine. Two persons are required for operation and production is only 80-100 gms of silk per day. The siflc reeled on this machine is Mse twisted and the operation is cumbersome and attachement of cocoon filament is difficult. In case of Tassar silk reeling, the reeling machine comprises four spindle pedal opCTated machine. This machine stops frequentfy due to lapping etc., thus reducing tte production. To feed four ends, a worker cannot defloss and find the good ends for the required nund)er of cocoons. The reeler has to pedal continuous^ which is more strainuous and also there are chances of rotating the spindle in the opposite direction. An object of this invention is to propose & spindle, pedei operated reeling cum twisting machine which is simple in construction, easy to operate and free from mechanical troubles. Another object of this invention is to propose a pedal operated reeling cum twisting machine having means to produce uni form denier of raw silk which is facilitated by easy casting of filaments. Yet another object of this invention is that the speed of the machi ne can be easily increased or decreased by varying the pedal operation. Still another object of this invention is that provisions to vary the twist inserted in the silk reeled. A further object of this invention is to propose a pedal operated reeling cum twisting machine which allows the broken ends to mend. Another object of this invention is tcr propose a multi purpose machine useful for reeling, twisting and rereSiing, in one operation and which is best suitable for cottage industries. According to this inventk>n there is provided a silk reeling and twisting macbine comprising a basin secured with the base &ame (F) near the top side at the one end tlKreo:^ a jetteboute mounted above the basin for easy casting of the filaments, twKting means rooimted on diaft supported lotatabfy at the top of tlK frame (F) towards the basin side, spindle, winding means for winding the twisted silk yam on bobbin, mounted on the top of the frame (F) and rotated by fly wheel which is adapted to be driven by drive means provided at the bottom frame opposite to the fly wheel, bobbins filled with silk yam beii^ placed on bottom spindle for winding the silk on to swift at the top of frame (F) for converting the sQk into the hank form, wherein said twisting means con^nise a calender roller and a rubber cot guide roller mounted on shaft which is supported rotatably on top surfece of Frame (F), wherein said winding means comprises a travelfer and a ring provided on the bobbin for wiiwiing silk yam on bobbm, distributor rod mounted on top of frame for fecilitating winding of thread on the bobbin, and wherein fiuther said drive means con^rises a pedal for actuatnig a pedal chain passing through a sprocket wieel mounted on a rotatable shaft, a sprii^ being provided on said shaft so as to keep smd pedal in the upward position for cycling thereof In accordance with this invention the silk reeling and twisting machine conqjrises a basin mounted near the top ra«i of the base frame fi)r containing the cocooiB. A jetteboutes secured with the base frame is provided above ths basin for facilitating the eaSy casting of the silk f ilaments. A fly wheel is rotatably mounted near the lower end of frame. Pedal dr ive means comprising sprocket wheel, pedal chain and spring are provi ded for driving the fly wheel which in turn rotates the spindle mounted on the top end of the frame opposite to the end on which jetteboutes is mounted. Roller means comprising calender roller and rubber cot gui de roller sre provi ded for twisting the silk yarn. Swi ft is mounted on the shaft of said twistipg roller means for converting the silk yarn into the hank .form. Bottom spindles are provided for supporting the bobbin full of silk yarn which is been wounded on the swift for converting the silk yarn into the hink form. A silk reeling cum twisting machine according to a preferred embodiment is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein: Fig 1: shows the prospective view of the machine Referring to fig. 1, the silk reeling cum twisting machine has s basin 1 mounted near the top end of a base frame F for containing the cooked muga or tassar cocoons. A jetteboutes 2 with wings is secured at the top sur face of the frame above the basin 1 for facilitating the easy casting of the filaments to produce uniform denier of raw silk. Twisting means comprising a calender roller 3 and a rubber cot guide roller 4 are mounted on a shaft 4 (a) supported rotatably on the top surface of the frame F towards jetteboute 2, for twisti ng the filaments colleeted from the cooked cocoons placed in the basin 1. A traveller 5 and a ring 6 are provided on the bobbin 7 for winding the twisted silk yarn on bobbin 7. The bobbins 7 are supported on.the spindle -13 rotatably mounted on the other end of the frame F. A fly wheel 9 is rotatably supported above the bottom frame F for rotating the spindle 13. Drive means consisting of a pedal 8, pedal chain 10 and a sprocket wheel 11 are provided for rotating the fly wheel 9. A spring 12 is provided on the pedal mounting shaft to keep thB pedal in the upward position for facilitating the cycling of the pedal. Bottom spindles 16 3.re mounted on the one side of the Frame F for support i ng the bobbins filled with the silk yarn. Distributor rods 15 &rB provided on the top sides of the frame F for facilitating the winding of the silk yarn equally at all the places of the bobbin continuously. A swift 17 is rotatably mounted on the top of the frame at the one side thereof for converting the silk into the hank form. During the operation of silk reeling cum twisting machine the cocoons are kept in the basin 1 and the number of cocoon filaments are colleeted depending on the requi rement of the silk denier. The silk thread is twisted by calender roller 3 and rubber cot guide roller 4. The raw silk is then passed through a traveller and ri ng means which is then wounded on the bobbins 7. The bobbins 7 filled with the silk yarn are placed on the bottom spindle 16 for winding the silk on the Bwift 17 pfovided for converting the silk into the hank form. The hank so obtained are now ready for market!ng of weavi ng purposes. The machine is mounted then operated by the pedal S, by moving up and down. WE CLAIM 1. A silk reeling and twisting machine comprising a basin (1) secured with the base frame (F) near the top side at the one end thereof, a jetteboute (2) mounted above the bask (1) for casting of the filaments, twisting means mounted on shaft 4(a) supported rotatably at the top of the frame (F) towards the basin (1) side, spindle (13), winding means for winding the twisted silk yarn on bobbin (7), mounted on the top of the frame (F) and rotated by fly wheel (9) which is adapted to be driven by drive means provided at the bottom frame opposite to the fly wheel (9), bobbins filed with silk yarn being placed on bottom spindle (16) for winding the silk on to swift (17) at the top of frame (F) for converting the silk into the hank form, wherein said twisting means comprise a calender roller (3) and a rubber cot guide roller (4) mounted on shaft (4a) which is supported rotatably on top surface of Frame (F), wherein said winding means comprises a traveller (5) and a ring (6) provided on the bobbin (7) for winding silk yarn on bobbin (7), distributor rod (15) mounted on top of frame for facilitating winding of thread on the bobbin (7), and wherein further said drive means comprises a pedal (8) for actuating a pedal chain (10) passing through a sprocket wheel (11) mounted on a rotatable shaft, a spring (12) being provided on said shaft so as to keep said pedal in the upward position for cycling thereof 2.
