Title of Invention

STORAGE POT

Abstract A ceramic storage pot comprising outer pot of inverted conical configuration with a flat base, the top surface of the outer pot being flanged inwards with a flat surface and forms integral pot the inner ceramic pot of identical inverted conical configuration with a flat bese such that when positioned inside the outer pot creates a annual space between them the inner pot contains outward fbnging at the top so as to rest over- the outer pot, a conical ceramic cover with both end open to suit the pot geometry being placed over the outer pot top surface of the cover being perforated, and a ceramic top lid, having a contour matching to that of cover and snugly fitting with the top opening of the cover, the outer pot being filled with water whereby product to be stored is kept inside the inner pot such that the product always remain under controlled temperature.
Full Text The invention in general relates to storage con¬tainers and particular it relates to a storage pot.
The storage pot is aimed at preserving its contents in a most economical way, The entire construction is out of Ceramic material such as clay. In this particular case the storage pot is meant for storing blofertilisers and all other perishable articles by small and marginal farmers.
The primary object of the invention is to design a storage pot for storing perishable material.
It is another object of the invention to design a storage pot which complete by made of ceramic material.
It is anether object of the invention to design a pot for storing blofertilisers and all other perishable articles.
It is further object of the invention to contrive a storage pot meant primarily for use by farmer community.
It is another object of the invention to contrive a device which will retain storage articles under contro¬lled temperature.

A ceramic storage pot comprising external/outer pot of Inverted conical configration with a flat base, the top surface of the outer pot being flanged inwards with a flat surface and forms integral pot, the inner ceramic pot identical inverted conical configration with a flat base such that when positioned inside the outer pot creates a annual space between them, the inner pot contains outward flanging at the top so as to rest over the outer pot, a conical ceramic cover with both end open to suit the pot geometry being placed over the outer pot, top surface, of the cover being perforated, and a ceramic top lid, having a contour matching to that of cover and sungly fitting with the top opening of the cover, the outer pot being filled

with water whereby product to be stored is kept inside the inner pot such that the product always remain under controlled temperature.
Now, the invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawing accompanying the specification wherein sole figure shown in elevation illustrates the construction details of the storage pot.
Referring to the drawings accompanying the specification, the invention comprises an external pot, (1) almost conical in shape with approximately 340 mm dia on the top and 200 mm as
its base with a height of 266 mm. The top surface is flanged inwards with a flat surface and forms integral part of the pot.

Two handles (3) are provided externally for ease of handling the system. An inner pot (2), again made out of clay, having a top opening of approximately 250 mm dia and 200 mm height with outward flanging at the top is made to rest over the outer pot as shown. Locating lugs (4) are provided so that the inner pot movement with respect to the outer is prevented. A conical cover (5), placed oVer the outer pot top surface. The dimensions of this cover is such that it guides the inner pot rim to certain degree of accuracy. Body of this cover has a number of vent holes, (6) approximately 5 mm in size. A top lid (7), made out of clay, having a contour matching to that of cover and just fitting with the top opening of the cover is assembled as shown. This has a built in handle for ease of assembly and removel.
The outer pot is first filled with water and the inner pot is then positioned in it. The excess water flows out and the annular space between the outer and inner pots thus contains Water. The product to be stored is then placed in the inner pot and the top cover and top lid are positioned in their respective places.
Clay being porous, air pockets in the body acts as an insulater and hence heat transfer from external atmosphere
is minimised and due to this the water remains cool inside the annular space. The pores on the top cover ensures circulation

of air and in this process, certain amount of water gets eveperated drawing its latent heat of evaporation from the product. Hence, the product always remain under controlled, temperature.
The storage pot having the following advantages
1. The product always remain at controlled temperature;
2. the storage pot has natural cooling system as such it makes use of porous nature of ceramic materials.
3. The storage pot is very economical and useful for farmers.

WE CLAIM:
A ceramic storage pot comprising outer pot of inverted conical configration with a flat base, the top surface of the outer pot being flanged inwards with a flat surface and forms integral pot, the inner ceramic pot of identical Inverted conical configration with a flat base such that when positioned inside the outer pot creates a annual space between them the inner pot contains outward flanging at the top so as to rest over the outer pot, a conical ceramic cover with both end open to suit the pot geometry being placed over the outer pot, top surface of the cover being perforated, and a ceramic top lid, having a contour matching to that of cover and snugly fitting with the top opening of the cover, the outer pot being filled with water whereby product to be stored is kept inside the inner pot such that the product always remain under controlled temperature.
