| Full Text | DESCRIPTION (COMPLETE) OCR NOT PREPARE DUE TO PRINT PROBLEM WE CLAIM: 1 A process for preparation of iron aluminides comprising preparing an elemental blend of reactive powders in a stoichiometric proportion, compacting the reactive elemental blend to 50 to 70% theoretical density level, heating the entire compact rapidly at a temperature 100-400°C c/min so as to initiate the exothermic reaction which becomes self-substaining and for converting the reactants to the porous product, applying sufficient pressure during said step of exotheric reaction so to obtain dense product with fine grain size. 2. A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said powder are for example iron powder and aluminium powders said iron powder has a size in the range of 45-100 u,m. 3, A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said aluminium powder has a size of 45 um. 4 A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said elemental blend is prepared by mixing in a blender. 5 A process of preparation of iron aluminides substantially as herein described |
