A NOVEL PROCESS OF FRAGMENTATION OF BACTERIAL POLYSACCHARIDES AND PREPARATION OF CONJUGATE VACCINES THEREOF

Abstract The present invention provides a simple,reproducible, inexpensive and convenient method for facile cleavage of high molecular weight bacterial cell surface native Polysaccharides by invacuo heating thus obtaining antigenic Polysaccharide fragments with size reduced by a factor not more than 10 times. The said depolymerized polysaccharides can be used for synthesis of Polysaccharide-protein conjugate vaccines.
