"IMPROVING THE TRANSFER OF SLURRY IN A BAYER PROCESS"

Abstract The present disclosure is directed to a method of improving the transfer of slurry in a Bayer process through the addition of one or more chemical species to a Bayer process, wherein said chemical species is selected from the group consisting of: non-ionic surfactants, polyglycols, polyglycol ethers, anionic surfactants, anionic polymers, and a combination thereof. The present invention is also directed to a method of deaerating a slurry in a Bayer process through the addition of an effective amount of one or more chemical species to a Bayer process, wherein said chemical species is selected from the group consisting of: non-ionic surfactants, polyglycols, polyglycol ethers, anionic surfactants, anionic polymers, and a combination thereof.
