I, Mr. HIRAL CHANDRAKANT JOSHI, an authorized agent for the applicant, OERLIKON ACCOTEX TEXPARTS GMBH do hereby verify that the content of English translated complete specification filed in pursuance of PCT International application No. PCT/ EP2006/ 008463 thereof is correct and complete.

The present invention relates to an arrangement of drawing frames on a textile machine according to the preamble of claim 1.
An arrangement of drawing frames according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from the generic DE 1 971 929 U. The supports, which oppose one another, of each machine side, are fastened, in each case, on horizontally extending holding rods and connected to one another by a bridge arranged parallel to the holding rods between the supports. To achieve greater stability, the two supports are additionally connected by a web arranged parallel to the bridge between the supports.
It has proven to be disadvantageous that the assembly and retrofitting of drawing frames of this type is very expensive, as the supports firstly have to be aligned with respect to the holding rods and then the carriers placed on the supports have to be aligned with respect thereto.
The invention is therefore based on the object of increasing the flexibility during use of drawing frames in textile machines and thereby reducing, in particular, the assembly costs of the textile machine.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterising features of claim 1.
Advantageous configurations of the invention are the subject of the sub-claims.
According to claim 1, it is proposed that the supports be pivotably connected to one another about an axis which is parallel to the at least one holding rod. To fit the supports on the at least one holding rod of the textile machine, this allows them to be pivoted with respect to one another in such a way that the supports, which are connected to one another, can firstly be placed with the carriers arranged thereon
-2-

onto the at least one holding rod and can simultaneously be aligned with corresponding lower rollers of the drawing frame. In this case, it is no longer possible for an individual support to fall down, or rather additional aids for temporary fixing of the respective support on the holding rod are not necessary in order to be able to align the carriers before they are fixed by means of the supports to the at least one holding rod. The assembly costs can therefore be reduced as the time outlay during the initial fitting and also during a retrofitting is reduced.
The supports which oppose one another in each case, may preferably be connected by a clamping sleeve, about the longitudinal axis of which the supports can be pivoted. The supports can be connected by the clamping sleeve in a simple and economical manner, so handling is facilitated when placing onto the at least one holding rod.
For this purpose it may be provided that the supports have, in each case, at least one projection which extends perpendicularly to the contact face and has a through-bore that is parallel to the holding rod and is used to receive the clamping sleeve. The at least one projection on the supports is designed in each case in such a way that it meshes with the at least one projection of the other support in such a way that a flush arrangement of the two supports, which are connected to one another, is made possible. In this manner, the contact faces of the two supports are parallel, and the supports are flush with one another, when they are fixed to the holding rods.
Advantageously, the centre points of the through-bores may be slightly set back relative to the respective contact face. In fixing the supports to the holding rod, in other words, when the recesses surround the holding rod and the contact faces of the supports rest against one another, the through-bores migrate slightly outwardly, so the clamping sleeve is clamped and deformed. This produces a prestress, so the fixing of the supports to the holding rod is improved.
-3-

The supports may, in particular, be configured identically. The identical configuration of the supports, which oppose one another, allows economical production because of a large number of pieces, and simplifies the assembly process of the textile machine in that during fitting, care does not have to be taken that there is a pairwise association of supports which correspond with one another with respect to their configuration, in order to be able to connect these flush with one another by means of the clamping sleeve. Rather, the identically designed supports may be arranged in a mirror-inverted manner on the at least one holding rod, so fitting is simplified.
Furthermore, the at least one holding rod may have a polygon-shaped cross-section. This allows a positive arrangement in the receivers provided for this on the supports in such a way that the supports are arranged without twisting relative to the at least one holding rod.
Alternatively, to fix the supports, which are arranged in a mirror-inverted manner, two holding rods arranged parallel to one another may be provided. The holding rods may then have a circular cross-section. Because of their simple geometric cross-sectional shape, these may be produced economically.
The invention will be described in more detail hereinafter with the aid of an embodiment shown in the drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows a side view of two supports for drawing frames placed on holding rods;
Fig. 2 shows a detailed view A from above onto the supports according to Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 shows a side view of the two supports fixed on holding rods according to Fig. 1;
-4-

Fig. 4 shows a detailed sectional view B of the supports according to Fig. 3;
Fig. 1 shows two supports 1 of drawing frames, not shown in more detail, which are used for fixing to two holding rods 6 arranged in parallel to one another, of a machine frame, not shown, of a textile machine. The supports 1 in each case comprise a carrier 2, which is pivotably arranged on the supports 1 about a bearing axis. The carriers 2 are used for receiving upper rollers, not shown, which are used with corresponding lower rollers, not shown, of the respective drawing frame to draw a thread.
Fig. 1 shows the supports 1 in a position, in which they can be placed on the holding rods 6. For this purpose, the supports 1 are arranged opposing one another and pivotably connected to one another at their mutually facing ends by a clamping sleeve 4, as shown in Fig. 2, about the longitudinal axis thereof. The sleeves 1, on their side remote from the carrier 2, in each case have two projections 7, which are parallel to one another and are provided in each case with a through-bore 10 that is parallel to the holding rods 6 for receiving the clamping sleeve 4. To connect the two supports 1, the respective projections 7 are arranged to be overlapping with respect to one another in such a way that the respective through-bores 10 are flush in the horizontal direction, so the clamping sleeve 4 can be inserted through the through-bores 10.
Furthermore, two recess 3 are arranged below the projections 7 on the contact faces 5 of the supports 1. The recesses 3, with respect to their form and their dimensions, correspond to the holding rods 6, so the holding rods 6 in the fixed position of the supports 1, are positively received in the recesses 3. The arrangement of the recesses 3 is concentric to the holding rods 6 in the fixed position of the supports 1. The through-bores 10 of the respective projections 7 of the supports 1 are set back slightly relative to the contact face 5, so, when the recesses 3 of the supports 1 surround the holding rods 6 and the contact faces of the supports 1 rest against one another, the
-5-

centre points of the through-bores 10 are offset horizontally with respect to one another, so they deform the clamping sleeve 4.
Owing to the deformation of the clamping sleeve 4, a prestress is generated when firmly clamping the supports 1 on the holding rods 6.
The supports 1 are shown in Fig. 3 in a position fixed on the holding rods 6. For this purpose, the supports 1 are pivoted about the longitudinal axis of the clamping sleeve 4 toward one another, so their contact faces 5 rest against one another in such a way that the supports 1 are arranged flush with one another. To connect and fix the supports 1, connecting means are provided which are arranged on the side of the respective support 1 remote from the projections 7.
The arrangement of the connecting means is shown in Fig. 4. The connecting means surround a screw 8 here and a nut 9, which is preferably configured as a snap nut. These are arranged between the side walls of the supports 1 transverse to the holding rods 6 on the side of the supports 1 opposing the projections 7.
