Abstract This Invention has one main objective. Salient Feature of the invention is that the designed discharge is regulated and controlled precisely to the Over head Tanks. Keeping the inflow and out flow pressures, the triangular notch is widened or narrowed with the help of the notch plug by plug key in aid with the calibration scale. Hence the discharge of the water is restricted to the stipulated rate. The OHT Flow Control Valve has the following Main Components: 1. The Exterior Metallic Body. 2. Inlet 3.Triangular notch Plug. 4. Flange. 5.Upstream Pressure check Valve. 6.Down stream Pressure Check Valve 7.Caliberation scale 8.Safty Cover 9. Outlet 10.Triangular adjustable key hole
Full Text Field of Invention:
This Invention relates to Flow Control Valve. This Invention pertains to the control and regulations of potable water supply to the Over Head Tanks in the combined water supply scheme of Public protected water distribution Administration
Background of the Invention
This Invention is applied in combined water supply scheme hitherto denoted as CWSS. CWSS is further described as the drawing of water from the pumping station and supply through the Pipes to various over head tanks, situated at different localities such as town and villages spread (Sprawled) over Hundreds of square kilometers where In the geo terrain Varies from low lying level to high lying.
The Main objective is to supply and Provide right and stipulated quantity (Litres/Per Minute) irrespective of the pressure variations that occur due to low lying level and high lying levels. This objective is never achieved as overflow in low levels and meagre flow in high levels has become uncontrollable and problematic. A device called sluice valve is kept with the pumping line prior to each tank. Whose main purpose is to open and close the line for repair and maintenance. However, to control the above said problems authorities try with this, yet it is crude and manually adjustable where in chances of meddling this is aplenty by the locals and or unauthorized persons with vested interest.
The Role of this Invention
OHT Flow Control Valve is designed, developed to ensure right and proper flow to each Over head tank even at different pressure heads to resolve the above said problem.
This is tamper proof and could not be meddled
The OHT Flow Control Valve's functions are based on two criteria viz l.The existing Pressure head of inflow of the over head tank and 2.The required discharge to be allowed to the OHT(Over Head Tank).
The OHT Flow Control Valve's Specifications are therefore specially designed according to each tank's flow requirement. And hence the entire CWSS gets appropriate flow irrespective of varying levels which was hardly achieved before.

Now the invention will be more clearly described with the figures of the drawings which accompany the complete specification. Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing shows the layout diagram of the OHT Flow Control Valve.
The OHT Flow Control Valve has the following main Components:
1. The Exterior Metallic Body.
2. Inlet
3.Triangular notch Plug. 4. Flange.
5.Upstream Pressure check Valve.
6.Down stream Pressure Check Valve
7.Caliberation scale
8.Safty Cover
9. Outlet

The OHT Flow Control Valve is to be kept in horizontal position in line with the flow path of the water inlet.
Figure 2 & 3 Shows the working condition of the OHT Flow Control Valve, keeping the required quantum to be discharged, the inflow and outflow pressure head is taken into account, the notch is suitably adjusted to till required quantum of out flow is achieved with the aid of the movable notch plug using the notch key with calibration scale.
The design of the valve is therefore prefixed to let only the required litres per minute to the Over head Tank irrespective of the inflow and out flow pressure head.
Salient Feature of this invention is that the designed discharge is regulated and controlled to a precision to Over head Tanks and this couldn't be meddled easily.
Advantages:
1. With this device accurate flow per minute is ensured to the over head tank.
2. Appropriate and adequate flow pressure is guarded for the sake of flow to the high lying level.
3. The flow rate in CWSS would differ in actuality from the plan and design due to various reasons. Therefore this OHT Flow Control Valve is designed in such a way that the prevailing pressure on the site is measured and taken Into account and accordingly adjusted and fixed.
4. The OHT Flow Control Valve has the facility to adjust up to a very minimum of out flow.
5. This device is tamper proof with safety lock and key.
e.This device has a specially designed plug key to the notch plug in order to prevent meddling.












I Claim:
Apparatus for Controlling and regulating the flow of Potable water to the Over Head Tanks in Combined Water Supply Scheme (CWSS) of Public drinking water distribution system through pipelines, that is actuated by the flow control system at the predetermined pressure; it has the main flow path having an inlet and outlet with in which a triangular notch is provided to regulate the discharge with respect to the pressure head of the inflow and outflow, i.e if the inflow pressure is high, the upstream pressure head is gauged by upstream cavity pressure tester and if the inflow pressure is low, the downstream pressure is gauged by downstream cavity pressure tester, then the precise quantum of out flow to be allowed is taken in to account; and the triangular notch is adjusted with the notch plug using the plug key with the aid of calibration scale till the precise out flow is achieved and then the apparatus is closed with safety metallic cover with lock; Hence, the stipulated quantity of water would only be discharged to Over Head Tanks.
