Abstract The present invention relates to a refrigerator cabinet with door attached with a sliding type apparatus for a drawer for a drawer type refrigerator which can be put in and taken out from the interior of a main body of the refrigerator through guidance of rails. The apparatus comprises a door with a isolating layer; a frame disposed in the rear of the door to be simultaneously put in and taken out from the interior of the main body together with the door and provided with a storage space for accommodating stored goods; a means for connecting the apparatus to a front end of the frame and causing the door to rotate through a predetermined straight path with respect to teh frame. The said apparatus can be used for storage of goods and vegetables etc.
Full Text FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a bottom drawer for refrigerator for storing odorous vegetables and vegetables which get spoiled when subjected to refrigeration temperature.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
In the existing type of refrigerators there is no special zone or compartment provided for keeping vegetable like potatoes/onions etc. Reason being the tendency to get spoiled when subjected to cold temperatures and also of odor. In this case the consumer has to keep the mentioned type of vegetables in separate baskets/utensils etc. In the invented device the compartment/tray can be integrated with the refrigerator in which vegetables can be kept without being even in contact with each other as there is provision of separate compartments.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is to provide a refrigerator base with drawer which can enable storage outside the refrigeration compartment of odorous vegetables or vegetables which get spoiled when subjected to refrigeration temperatures.
Another object of the invention is to provide a refrigerator base with drawer which is sturdy enough to support the weight of refrigerator.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a refrigerator base with drawer, which is low in cost yet is durable.
Further object of the invention is to provide a refrigerator base with drawer which is modular in construction.

Further object of the invention is that the heights and structure of bottom drawer base tray is so adjusted to keep rodents away from tray.
yet further object of the invention is to propose a refrigerator base with drawer which is aesthetically designed.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the ensuing description.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
According to the present invention there is provided a bottom drawer for refrigerator for storing odorous vegetables and vegetables which get spoiled when subjected to refrigeration, comprising:
a bottom drawer base ;
a bottom drawer tray slidingly fitted in said base;
means for to and fro horizontal movement of the tray in the said drawer base;
a plurality of roller plugs having predetermined interference fit in the base
and tray;
a pair of anti-rotation nuts fitted in each of two mounting bosses provided in
the front part of the base for holding the drawer to the desired height;
the bottom drawer tray is tightly fitted to keep rodents away from tray;
a pair of leveling legs, one leg assembled to each of said two anti-rotation
nuts with press fit collar to hold the product even during dragging and
avoiding the falling of the refrigerator;
a fascia fitted at the front end of the bottom drawer tray having in-built handle
assembled with the tray along with locking lugs for holding the tray while
loading and unloading and lifters for complete closing of tray in the base ;
guide rails provided in the base to enable smooth movement of roller plugs
thereon;
locking lugs provided on a channel in front part of the tray to assemble with the
fascia and to resist unintended opening;


plurality of perforations provided on four faces of the tray for ventilation;
a plurality of channels, ribs and drainage holes provided in said base for guiding
the overflowing defrosted water to fall outside the base;
where means for to and fro horizontal movement of the tray in the said
drawer; and
means for the bottom drawer tray slidingly Fitted in said base.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO DRAWINGS
The bottom drawer base is made up Plastic "Poly propylene co-polymer" material, which provide high impact resistance as well as less cycle time during injection molding process due to high flowblity of material, thus makes it cost effective. Rib structure is provided to distribute the load effectively & to avoid cracks-due to concentrated heavy loads. Water channels with tapered faces are provided to collect water along with draining pockets. To protect vegetables from rodents close structure is provided with maximum gap of less than 5 mm in complete periphery.
According to the invention the refrigerator base with bottom drawer (17) is made up of plastic "poly propylene co polymer" comprising a bottom drawer base (3), in which a bottom drawer tray (2) is slidingly fitted. The tray (2) is provided with a fascia (1) on its front face. The tray is provided with rollers (4) at the bottom to facilitate its

smooth movement on the guide rails of the base (6). The base is supported with legs (12) designed to bear the load of the refrigerator. The base is provided with antirotation nuts (11) with which the leveling legs are assembled to enable leveling of the refrigerator.
Accordingly, a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a fascia which is front plastic part having inbuilt handle to push in and pull out the basket attached at its rear. The front of fascia is made-up of convex curvature to having good impact strength to take care of accidental foot impacts. A "Z" structure having sliding mechanism along with locking lugs (14) is provided for holding the tray and resist against detachment of fascia from the tray and lifters (13) are provided for complete closing of tray in the base.
The drawer has a tray having three compartments for storing different types of vegetables with net storage volume upto 11 litre. A channel at front is provided with locking lugs (16) to assemble with fascia and resists unintended opening. Perforation is provided on all 4 faces of tray for proper air ventilation to avoid spoilage of vegetables.
Bottom drawer base is preferably a plastic injection molded component without any moving core i.e. single core and no screw is used for assembly of any component with it having adequate load bearing capacity even in dragging position. The base is provided with water management system (8,9) having channels, ribs and drainage holes for guiding the overflowing defrosted water to fall outside basket. Guide rails (6) are integrated in the base to provide smooth movement of basket roller. Tray toppling is avoided by arresting it from top through stopping lugs (7). Lugs are provided with chamfer for facilitating ease of insertion of tray. A stopper (10) is provided at front to avoid accidental falling of tray during usage. Rollers (4) preferably made of nylon are provided in the base and basket for smooth operation and to reduce the dragging force of basket. The rollers are assembled in their respective components with use of gravity. A roller plug (5) is used to stop roller

coming out of tray (2) and base (3). Interference fit is provided in roller plug so that it withstands pull force preferably of 6 kgf.
An anti-rotation nut made up of steel (11) with collar is press fitted in the corresponding mounting boss in front of the base for sustaining high amount of force while dragging the refrigerator when kept on it. In a preferred embodiment head of nut is kept hexagonal for avoiding rotation. A leveling leg (12) is provided with positive leveling mechanism which helps in self-closing the refrigerator door, even when the leveling leg is in fully closed position.
It is understood that the features and concept of the invention can be adapted to various embodiments by making changes, adaptation, modifications by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments are intended to be within the scope of the present invention.
WORKING
Integrated handle is used to pull the tray out of base which is present on Fascia Tray will care out without making any noise with easy movement as rollers with rollers plug present on both tray and on guide nail in base. Tray is pulled for particular distance as front stopper will stop its movement and not allow it to fall on ground with further pull. Tray will not topple, as its upward movement get arrested by stopping lugs and after putting vegetables in 3 different compartment with the help of handle, tray can be inserted back into the base.



WE CLAIM:
1. A bottom drawer (17) for refrigerator for storing odorous vegetables and vegetables which get
spoiled when subjected to refrigeration, comprising:
a bottom drawer base (3);
a bottom drawer tray (2) slidingly fitted in said base, the tray (2) provided with rollers (4);
means (4, 6) for to and fro horizontal movement of the tray (2) in the said drawer base(3);
a plurality of roller plugs (5) having predetermined interference fit in the base (3) and tray (2);
a pair of anti-rotation nuts (11) fitted in each of two mounting bosses provided in the front
part of the base (3) for holding the drawer (17) to the desired height;
the bottom drawer tray (2) is tightly fitted to keep rodents away from tray (2);
a pair of leveling legs (12), one leg assembled to each of said two anti-rotation nuts (11) with
press fit collar to hold the product even during dragging and avoiding the falling of the
refrigerator;
a fascia (1) fitted at the front end of the bottom drawer tray (2) having in-built handle assembled
with the tray (2) along with locking lugs (14) for holding the tray (2) while loading and
unloading and lifters (13) for complete closing of tray (2) in the base (3);
guide rails (6) provided in the base (3) to enable smooth movement of tray (2);
locking lugs (16) provided on a channel in front part of the tray (2) to assemble with the fascia
(1) and to resist unintended opening;
plurality of perforations provided on four faces of the tray (2) for ventilation;
a plurality of channels (8, 9), ribs and drainage holes provided in said base (3) for guiding the
overflowing defrosted water to fall outside the base (3).
2. A bottom drawer for refrigerator as claimed in claim 1, wherein the tray (2) comprising three
separate compartments to store different kinds of materials.
3. A bottom drawer for refrigerator as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bottom drawer base (3),
said tray (2) and said fascia (1) are made in a single mould and there is no movable core
inserted in molding tool.
4. A bottom drawer for refrigerator as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base (3) is provided with stoppers (10) to prevent accidental falling of tray (2) when drawn out.
