CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION METHOD AND PRODUCTION APPARATUS OF AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE

Abstract A process by which two or more grades of aromatic polycarbonates are produced by the melting method without causing a switching loss or quality deterioration. The process for aromatic polycarbonate production comprises: feeding a molten mixture of raw materials comprising an aromatic dihydroxy compound and/or carbonic diester produced in the absence of a transesterification catalyst to two series of polycondensation steps, each series comprising three vertical reactors and one horizontal reactor which have been serially connected; and continuously and simultaneously conducting polycondensation in the presence of a transesterification catalyst.
