A MOTORCYCLE HEADLIGHT WITH FAIRING FOR DISPLAYING A MESSAGE THEREON

Abstract A motor cycle headlight with fairing, for displaying a massage thereon, comprising a headlamp bulb,a reflector and a lens,the said lens having its inner surface formed into a concavity of predetermined depth and confonforming to the shape and size of the characters of the said message; and the said reflector having its inner surface, adjacent to the inner surface of the lens, formed into a convexity matching the shape and size of the concavity,the space between the convexity and the concavity being occupied by colouring material.

This invention relates to a motorcycle headlight with fairing for displaying a mossage thereon.
Headlight fairing assemblies of motorcycles display messages, such as, the trade marks of the manufacturers and other matter. However, in the known art, such messages are provided on the headlight body by labels, stickers and the like. Such material tends to get detached after some time. Besides, quite often, in the known art, such messages are displayed on the lower portion of the headlight and in small characters so as not to block the light beam of the headlight, which means that the message is not prominent enough to be noticeable by the viewer.
This invention therefore proposes a motorcycle headlight which does away with the aforementioned drawbacks and renders the headlight assembly better, both in appearance and in use.
The motor cycle headlight with tailing, for displaying a message thereon, according to this invention, comprises a headlamp bulb, a reflector and a lens, the said lens hftving its inner surface formed into a concavity of predetermined depth and conforming to the shape and size of the characters of the said message; and the said reflector having its inner surface, adjacent to the inner surface of the lens, formed into a convexity matching the shape and size of the concavity, the space between the convexity an4 the concavity being occupied by colouring matterial.

The motoroyole headlight H with fairing F is intended for displaying a message M. It comprises a headlight bulb B, a reflector R and a lens L. The inner surface of the upper piortion of the said lens is bent and elevated from its remaining portion as in Fig. 4A or flat as in Fig. 4B» The portion of the reflector R adjacent the upper portion of the lens is made to correspond to the latter portion. The inner surface of the upper portion of the lens is formed into concavities (depressions) of predetermined shape and size of tHe characters of the said message; and correspondingly, the inner surface of the reflector adjacent to the said characters is formed into matching convexities (projections). The space J between the convexities ahd concavities is occupied by colouring material such as paint, dyes and other pigments, to display ft the message in the desired colours, dearly and prominently. The concavities and convexities ate preferably provided on the upper portion of the lens and reflector so that they do not occlude the light beam of the headlight.

It will be appreciated that various other embodiments of this invention are possible without departing from the scope and ambit of this invention.


We Claim:
1. A motor cycle headlight with fairing, for displaying a message thereon, comprising a headlamp bulb, a reflector and a lens, the said lens having its inner surface formed into a concavity of predetermined depth and conforming to the shape and size of the characters of the said message; and the said reflector having its inner surface, adjacent to the inner surface of the lens, formed into a convexity matching the shape and size of the concavity, the space between the convexity and the concavity being occupied by colouring matterial.
2.A motorcycle headlight with fairing as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the concavities and convexities are preferably provided on the upper portion of the lens and reflector.
3.A motor cycle headlight with fairing substantially as herein described and illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings.
