Abstract The invention disclosed a home location register system of supporting multi of network type user. The system comprises common channel signaling processing part (1) for performing function of processing No. 7 signaling, database part (2) for storing user data, service processing part (3) comprising one or more home area location register service processing module, and operation maintenance part comprising operation maintenance server (41), service accepting station (42) and closely operation maintenance station (43). The invention is central data processing center in the network, through the home area location register system supporting multi of network type user, it can perform data management for different network type user, and provide PSTN user mixed give number, service of activating intelligent service in total network, and PHS user roaming service and supports smoothly change from PHS/PSTN user to 3G user.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a home location register system, and particularly
relates to a HLR (Home Location Registration) system of supporting multi of network
type user.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
With the rapid development of the economy of the society, the demand of
communication is increasing day by day, and the communication technology is rapidly
developing, from the early space division system, analogue system to the present digital
system, which is meeting people's demand for communication system. In fact, all
communication systems need the user data management, while at present the data
managements for different network type users are totally separate both physically and
logically, such as the user data for PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), PHS
(Personal Handy Phone System), and 3G (Third Generation) are all managed separately.
Thus the service provider has to conduct separate managements at different sites with
different staffs for different network type user which belongs to the same network, while
at the same time, the different network type user which belongs to the same network
cannot conveniently convert the user type in the network. Therefore, such separate data
management method of different network type user not only wastes large amount of
human resources and materials, but also harm the business operation strategy of user
services of the service provider.
Furthermore, during the optimization process of the network, the network optimizing
adjustment and number change often occurs. For example, some users that originally

belongs to one office number have to be distribute into two or more offices, in order not
to affect the service quality of the user, the function of mixed given number of fixed
network needs to be provided. Similarly, in future development of the services, users of
fixed network can register their favorite numbers, and own the number after a integrated
arrangement, and the number will be irrelevant to the location of the user, so that the user
needs not to change the original number after moving to other location, which thus truly
realizes that local fixed network number can be portable.
Nowadays, the intelligentizing of fixed network has become a popular issue with
more and more public concern. One of the most important problems is how to resolve the
present conflict between the rapid opening of intelligent service and the total network
coverage: for example, for calling services, the end office cannot activate the intelligent
services without connecting code, so that the fixed prepayment cannot be realized; while
for receiving services such as double ring and color ring, since the nature of the services
is related to receiving, the sending office and the intermediate dialing switching machine
cannot identify the nature of the service, and thus cannot transmit the call to SSP (Service
Switching Point) before the call lands to conduct correspondent service activating and
processing, so that the intelligent services of receiving for the whole network cannot be
carried out. Furthermore, during the change from fixed network to 3G, it is also necessary
to make use of the advantages of the present fixed network for developing the 3G
services, including the smooth change from fixed network user to 3G network user
without changing number, and development of the combining services of fixed network
and 3G network.
In fact, the above problem and demand cannot be solved by the prior art, and there is
not any patent document discovered in the search that resolves the above problems.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The objective of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantage of the
separate data management of multi network type users, inconvenience of carrying network
number resources and the network intelligent services being unpractical in the prior art, in
order to provide a home location register system of supporting multi of network type user,
which can effectively manage the network number resources, conveniently carry out the
network intelligent services and integrate the management of multi network type users.
In order to achieve the above goal, the present invention adopts a kind of home
location register system of supporting multi of network type user, comprising common
channel signaling processing part, database part, service processing part and operation
maintenance part, all of which connect with the communication network and perform
information interchanging respectively; the common channel signaling processing part, [
composed of one or more common channel signaling processing part module, performs
function of processing No. 7 signaling; the database part, composed of one or more home
location register data processing module, is used for storing user data; the service
processing part adopts the multi-module charge sharing mode and comprises one or more
home location register service processing module; the operation maintenance part
comprises operation maintenance server, which is connected to a service accepting station
and a closely operation maintenance station; the service accepting station and closely
operation maintenance station provide the operation platform; the operation status of the
home location register system can be learnt, tested and maintained through the closely
operation maintenance station; the user management can be realized through the service
accepting station, and remote service accepting and operation maintenance can be realized
through router.
The aforesaid one or more module of the common channel signaling processing part,
CPM (Common channel Signaling Process Module), is the interface for exchanging


devices between the home location register system and the core network. The service
processing part in the multi-module charge sharing mode is composed of one or more
HLR HSM (Handing Service Module), the number of HSM of HLR can be determined
and deployed flexibly according to the capacity demand of user; several HSMs perform
services and process the work in parallel, with redundant backup for each other, thus in
case any HSM fails, the other HSM will share the work evenly; HSM adopts the high-
efficient processor for accomplishing the service processing, and accessing database part
in real time, and conducting information interchange through the CPM and core network
switching device.
The database part is also composed of one or more HLR data processing module
HDM (Handling Data Module), mainly used for storing user's data.
In the above technical solution, all these parts are connected via high-speed Ethernet,
and are communicating with TCP/IP protocol. In order to guarantee the reliability, all
these above part are connected with double network.
The home location register system of supporting multi of network type user
according to the present invention function as the central data processing center in the
network, mainly used to accomplish the unified and integrated management over different
types of user data, and conduct signal exchange through the common channel signaling
and other functional parts. With such home location register system of supporting multi
of network type user, it is able to conduct unified and integrated data management over
different network type user, and to provide PSTN user mixed give number service, service
of activating intelligent service in total network, and PHS user roaming service, and to
support smooth change from PHS/PSTN user to 3G user, not only saving the operation
cost of the service provider, but also work positively for the service provider to gain users.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Hereunder, the specific embodiments of the present invention are going to be
described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The present invention is applicable to HLR system of mobile communications,
which usually includes PSTN, PHS and 3G (the Third Generation), and can support the
integrated management of the data of PSTN user, PHS user and 3G user, support the
mixed give number and activating intelligent service in total network for PSTN user,
support roaming services for PHS user and support smooth change from PHS/PSTN user
to 3G user.
FIG. 1 illustrates the location of the home location register system according to the
present invention (or "integrated HLR") in the network, which in one aspect is connected
to PHS network, PSTN network and 3G network via No. 7 common channel signaling so
as to meet the different service demands of user by using MAP protocol, such as updating
location, calling, verifying right, etc.; PSTN switching device uses MAP or part of the
protocol of ISDN user of ISUP (Integrated Services Digital Network User Part) so as to
perform services of user mixed give number, activating intelligent service, etc., and which
in another aspect, is connected to unified operation maintenance system via IP network,
so as to receive different services of user, such as opening account, service termination,
number change, etc.
FIG. 2 clearly shows the system structure of the home location register system
according to the present invention. This system comprises the following parts: the
common channel signaling processing part 1, the service processing part 3, the database
part 2, the operation maintenance part 4, high-speed Ethernet is adopted among all of the


above parts for communications and cooperate in performance. Hereunder the detailed
embodiment is described with reference to FIG. 2.
1. The common channel signaling part 1
This part is used for conducting the connecting and processing of common channel
signaling, and its typical implementation is the connecting and processing function of SS7
signaling.
In order to integrate the management over data of PHS user and PSTN user, the
switching device of PSTN has to be able to support PHS-MAP signaling. Via PHS-MAP
signal, PSTN user can perform location management service, right verification service,
calling service, data management service, etc., so as to realize the integrated management
over PSTN user data in the home location register system, and also realize the mobile
services of the PSTN user.
In order to perform services of mixed give number, activating intelligent service of
PHTN user, the PSTN switching device has to be able to support 3G-MAP signaling or
ISUP signaling. With the 3G-MAP signaling or ISUP signaling, PSTN switching device
can switch user number, search user's intelligent service connecting code at the HLR so
as to perform services of mixed give number, activating intelligent service, etc., and to
realize the integrated management of the data of mixed give number and activating
intelligent service of PSTN user in the home location register system.
In order to integrate the management over data of PHS user, PSTN user and 3G user,
the common channel signaling processing part 1 must distinguish and process PHS-MAP
signaling and 3G-MAP signaling. Since the PHS-MAP signaling and 3G-MAP signaling
are not completely compatible, there are four methods of processing:
(1) Hardware separation: connecting the 3G network device and PSTN, PHS
device to the home location register system via different common channel


signaling processing part 1 (CPM), and processing the PHS-MAP signaling
and 3G-MAP signaling on different CPM modules respectively.
(2) Software configuration: classifying the switching devices in the network
according to signaling point or GT (Global Title) by the data configuration
of the home location register system: 3G network device, PHS network
device, and PSTN network device. Once receiving a signaling message of a
network device, the network type of the device is obtained by configuring
the data, and then process is conducted with PHS-MAP or 3G-MAP
signaling according to the network type of this device.
(3) Device sub-system number: since 3G-MAP and PHS-MAP are not
completely compatible in content at present, the SSN (Sub-System Number)
can be adopted to conduct distinguish. Amending the SSN of logic HLR
correspondent to PHS network and PSTN network, when CPM module
receives signaling messages sent by different networks, the PHS network,
PSTN network and 3G network can be distinguished according to the SSN
obtained from level resolution by the SCCP (Signaling Connection Control
Part), so as to determine whether to adopt PHS-MAP protocol or 3G-MAP
protocol for processing the message.
(4) Application contexts: since 3G-MAP and PHS-MAP are not completely
compatible in content at present, distinguishing can be made by adopting the
MAP-ApplicationContexts. 3G-MAP is standard Application Context:

(5) While PHS-MAP changes the label "gsm-Network (1)" into other value for
distinguishing, so as to determine whether to adopt PHS-MAP protocol or
3G-MAP protocol for processing the message.
2. Service processing part 3
Since the common channel signaling processing part 1 has already processed PHS-
MAP message and 3G-MAP message respectively, the service processing part 3 only
needs to adopt different service processing procedure for processing according to the type
sign of signals transmitted by the common channel signaling processing part 1.
3. Database part 2
All types of users share one basic user datasheet, to distinguish the different network
type of user through user type signs. The common nature of all users share one sheet
space, special user nature occupies one sheet space exclusively. All users in the database,
under the condition that the user number is not changed, can amend the user type sign in
the basic user datasheet and relevant information in the nature sheet, so as to change from
one type of network user to another type of network user.
4. Operation maintenance part 4
The operation maintenance part 4 comprises the OMM Server (Operation &
Maintenance Module) 41, and the operation accepting station 42 and closely operation
maintenance station 43; the operation accepting station 42 and closely operation
maintenance station 43 provide people-machine operation platform, and the service
provider can learn the performance status of the home location register system, via the
closely operation maintenance station 43, to conduct testing and overcome the fault, and
realize customer management via the service accepting station 42. In addition, remote
service accepting and operation maintenance can be realized through router(s). With the
above means, the operation maintenance part 4 can conduct unified operation
maintenance for the total home location register system, and can conduct unified

accepting of different network type users according to the service features of PHS, PSTN
and 3G users, so as to be able to accept different network type users on one operation
interface, and to conduct switching of user type of any user at the same time.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
The present invention can process ISUP, PHS-MAP and 3G-MAP signaling
simultaneously within one home location register system, and can manage PSTN, PHS
and 3G users simultaneously within the database of one home location register system, so
as to perform the mixed give number service and the activating function of intelligent
service of ISUP user and the roaming service of PHS user, and to realize the unified and
integrated management over the data of PSTN, PHS and 3G users, so as to save the cost
of equipment investment and operation maintenance for the service provider.
In addition, based upon the unified and integrated management of data of different
network type users, this invention can also offer to conveniently switch user type without
changing the user number, so as to achieve the purpose of the service provider for
attracting customers and keeping customers during the development of network.
Therefore, the home location register system according to the present invention can
perform a unified and integrated management of data of PSTN, PHS and 3G users, and
can provide PSTN user with mixed give number service and activating service of
intelligent service in the whole network, provide PHS user with roaming service and
support PHS/PSTN user to smoothly change to 3G user; this system and other switching
equipments in the core network can exchange information with the mobile, the PHS
switching machine and fixed switching machine by message of the MAP (Mobility
Application Part) of different protocol, and can also exchange information with fixed
switching machine via ISUP message, so as to meet the different service demand of
different network type users. Thus it can be learnt that based on the prior art, those skilled


in the art can carry out the technical solution provided by the present invention according
to the above description in practice and can achieve the correspondent technical effect,
therefore, the technical solution provided by the present invention can totally meet the
requirement for industrial applicability.
Finally, it shall be noted that the above embodiments are only for the purpose of
describing the technical solution of the present invention and shall not be constructed in a
limited sense. It is obvious to those skilled in the art that modification or substitution can
be made to the present invention within the spirit and scope of this invention, which is
covered by the scope of the claims of the present invention.

We claim:
1. A home location register system of supporting multi of network type user, characterized in that
it comprises common channel signaling processing part (1), database part (2), service processing
part (3), and operation maintenance part (4), all of which connect with a communication network
and perform information interchanging respectively, wherein the common channel signaling
processing part (1), the database part (2), service processing part (3) and the operation maintenance
part (4) are connected with each other via high-speed Ethernet;
the common channel signaling processing part (1), composed of one or more common channel
signaling processing modules, performs function of processing No. 7 signaling;
the database part (2), composed of one or more home location register data processing modules, is
used for storing user data;
the service processing part (3), composed of one or more home location register service processing
module, adopts the multi-module charge sharing mode;
the operation maintenance part (4) comprises operation maintenance server (41) which is connected
to service accepting station (42) and closely operation maintenance station (43);
the service accepting station (42) and the closely operation maintenance station (43) provide a
operation platform; the operation status of the home location register system can be learnt and the
home location register system can be tested and maintained through the closely operation
maintenance station (43); user management can be realized through the service accepting station
(42), and remote service accepting and operation maintenance can be realized through a router.
2. The home location register system of supporting multi of network type user as claimed in
claim 1, wherein the several home location register service processing modules perform services
processing work in parallel, with redundant backup for each other,in the event of any of these home

location register service processing modules failing, the other home location register service
processing modules share the work evenly.
3. The home location register system of supporting multi of network type user as claimed in
claim 1, wherein the said home location register service processing module adopts the high-efficient
processor for accomplishing the service processing, and accessing the database part in real time, and
conducting information interchange through the common channel signaling processing module with
the core network switching device.
4. The home location register system of supporting multi of network type user as claimed in claim
1, wherein the communication network is a high-speed Ethernet, and the common channel signaling
processing part (1), the database part (2), the service processing part (3) and the operation
maintenance part (4) communicate with each other by the TCP/IP protocol.
5. The home location register system of supporting multi of network type user as claimed in
claim 1, wherein the common channel signaling processing part (1), the database part (2), the
service processing part (3) and the operation maintenance part (4) are interconnected via double
network to guarantee the reliability of the connection.
