Abstract The present invention of development of automation of LFO firing system comprises a computer apparatus where the data from input formats for sizing and selection of piping, equipments and devices are supplied. It uses the technical rules and standard data. It captures instrument type, location and numbers from the input formats and then generates Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) automatically based on the input and selections by means of a processor. The schematics thus generated are intelligent, where the information is embedded in the object of schematics. On completion of the PID, the system starts generating valves and fittings schedules, Instrument schedule in the respective formats for further processing. The system also generates data sheets automatically from the processor in the respective formats for procurement action. This system also generates automatic coding system for identification of equipments, instruments etc., which is the unique inventive step of the system. This system automatically generates material take off (MTO) and detailed arrangement drawings, which is also a unique inventive step.
Full Text FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to an automated system design of Light oil firing in a boiler/steam generator adapted in thermal power plants.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
In a typical thermal power plant, boilers are generally lighted up by Light furnace oil as a source of ignition energy. Light furnace oil filtered and pumped to the firing elevations of the steam generator through piping and fittings with various control and trip devices. The oil atomized with air and sprayed into the furnace by means of oil guns.
Sizing and selection of pumping and filter equipments, control and trip devices, routing and location of piping, numbering and designation of instruments are done manually to cater the heating capacity of steam generators. This system of automation is developed by applying various Technical rules, logics and standards to automate the above operations by supplying minimal basic inputs. Unique numbering system also developed for the identification of system components, equipments, instruments and devices.
