Full Text The present invention relates to An Automatic light Transmission Measurement Device.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a device to measure amount of light transmitted through a medium. Particularly, the present invention relates to an automatic light transmission measurement device. More particularly, the present invention relates to an automatic device to measure light transmitted through a medium like glass, textile, water etc.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
A medium like glass or textile, particularly a medium, which allows light to pass through partially or completely finds its application according to its property to transmit the light that is the amount of light transmitted through the medium. Such as the different varieties of glass will find their application according to their capability to allow the light to pass through. For example, the totally transparent glass will find their application wherein the requirement have the full light and dark glasses will find their application wherein the requirement is 10 allow minimum light to pass through. Recently, in view of use of cars with dark glasses by the thieves, rapist etc. the Government of India has banned use of glasses with less than 70% light transmission. This order generated demand of device, which can measure the amount of the light transmission.
Presently known such devices are the spectrophotometers, which are not only expensive but also bulky and hence difficult to carry. The other known such devices are CIE type, which have major disadvantage of having light source of temperature of about 2854 K.
Such a high temperature of light source results in higher temperature tube holding the
light source.
The other disadvantage and drawback of the known devices is that the alignment of light
source and the measurement source is always the problem, which in turn result in the
inaccurate measurements.
These limitations of the known devices have been the main cause for letting the rapists
etc. to get away with cars with dark glasses, as the court could not allow any of the
known devices

NEED OF THE INVENTION:
Therefore, there is a need to have a device to measure the light transmitted through a medium like glass, textile, water particularly glass, which can overcome the disadvantages and limitations of the known devices as described herein above.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
This is the main object of the present invention to make a complete disclosure of the device capable of measuring the light transmitted through a medium, like glass, textile, water particularly glass, which can overcome the disadvantages and limitations of the known devices as described herein above.
This is the another object of the present invention to make a complete disclosure of an automatic light transmission measurement device capable of measuring the light transmitted through a medium, like glass, textile, water etc. particularly glass, which is light in weight and portable.
This is still an object of the present invention to make a complete disclosure of an automatic light transmission measurement device capable of measuring the light transmitted through a medium, like glass, textile, water etc. particularly glass, the light
source of which makes use of a source having temperature less than 2854 K and yet
giving the desired colour spectrum.
Yet another object of the present invention to make a complete disclosure of an automatic light transmission measurement device capable of measuring the light transmitted through a medium, like glass, textile, water etc. particularly glass, wherein the tube accommodating the light source has temperature close to ambient and easy to handle.
Still another object of the present invention to make a complete disclosure of an automatic light transmission measurement device capable of measuring the light

transmitted through a medium, like glass, textile, water etc. particularly glass, wherein the light source gets align automatically with the sensor and overcome the major drawbacks of the known devices.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
In accordance with the present invention an automatic light transmission device capable of measuring the light transmitted through a medium like glass, textile, water, particularly glass comprising (i) light source, (ii) sensor, and (iii) a processing unit, wherein the light source comprises of a bulb, controlled current source, cooling means, collimator, colour spectrum modifier, and magnetic ring; and sensor comprises of magnetic ring, a diffuser, a photodiode sensor, and preamplifier; and a processing unit comprises of an amplifier, an analog digital converter, microprocessor, and display means.
DESCRIPTION OF FIGURES:
Figure 1 shows the automatic light transmission measurement device in accordance to the present invention.
Figure 2 shows the schematic diagram of the automatic light transmission measurement device in accordance to the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly the present invention makes a complete disclosure of an automatic light transmission measurement device capable of measuring the light transmitted through a medium like glass, textile, water particularly glass, comprising (i) light source, (ii) sensor, and (iii) a processing unit, wherein the light source comprises of a bulb, controlled current source, cooling means, collimator, colour spectrum modifier, and magnetic ring; and sensor comprises of magnetic ring, a diffuser, a photodiode sensor, and preamplifier; and a processing unit comprises of an amplifier, an analog digital converter, microprocessor, and display means.

Nov/ referring to the accompanying figures, which are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention, the automatic light transmission measurement device (1) in accordance with the present invention comprises light source (2), sensor (3), and a processing unit (4), wherein the said light source (2) comprises of a bulb (5), controlled current source (6), cooling means (7), collimator (8), colour spectrum modifier (9), and magnetic ring (10); and the said sensor (3) comprises of magnetic ring (11), a diffuser (12), a photodiode sensor (13), and preamplifier (14); and the said processing unit (4) comprises of an amplifier (15), an analog digital converter (16), microprocessor (17), and display means (18).
In accordance to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the selected medium (19) is placed in between the light source (2) and the sensor (3), the amount of light transmitted through the medium (19) is displayed on the display means (18) directly in the form of percent light transmitted.
In accordance to the other preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light source (2) gets automatically aligned with the sensor (3) due to combined effect of magnetic rings, collimator and constant supply in turns of amperage, which avoids any special means and efforts for alignment of light source and sensor as required in the such known devices.
The present invention has been described with the help of the accompanying figures, which are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. It is obvious to those working in this area, that minor modifications are possible in the schematic arrangement of the said components of the presently disclosed device without deviating the scope of the present invention.
