Full Text We claim : -
1. A method of producing an inhibition compound for solid propellant
motors, characterized in that the method comprises the following steps:
(a) Preparing the pre-mix of composition (by weight) of Chlorinated Rubber Powder 25 to 27%, Castor oil 69 to 72%, Phenyl (3-Napthyl Amine 1.0 to 1.5% and Ferric Oxide 0.5 to 1.0% in a Muller mixer and a horizontal Sigma mixer;
(b) Transferring the predefined amount of premix into no. of containers (batches)
(c) Preparing final-mix of composition (by weight) of pre-mix 82.6 to 84.2%, Toluene Di Isocyanate 14.3 to 15.2% and Ferric Acetyl Acetonate in Benzene solution 1.4 to 1.7%, and mixing the composition in a semi-fluid state in containers;
(d) Pouring the final-mix onto the solid propellant motors; and
(e) Allowing the final mix to be cured and solidified on the solid propellant motors.
2. The method as mentioned in claim 1, wherein the pre-mix of the
compound is produced in the following steps: -
(a) drying Castor oil in a horizontal Sigma mixer at 60°C under vacuum of 10 Torr until the moisture content thereof is reduced to 0.2% or less by weight;
(b) mixing the dry Castor oil with Phenyl p-Napthyl Amine and Ferric Oxide for 5 min ;
(c) adding half the total weight of Chlorinated Rubber Powder in the Muller mixer and mixing for 5 min;

(d) adding the remaining half the total weight Chlorinated Rubber Powder in the Muller mixer and mixing for 60 min; and
(e) drying the mixture in a horizontal Sigma mixer at 60°C under vacuum of 10 Torr until the moisture content thereof is 0.2% or less by weight.
(f) Transferring the pre-mix to a dry, clean drum which is closed airtight.

3. The method as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the final-mix is poured onto the solid propellant motors to form a solid mass of required thickness layer by layer, with a maximum thickness of 5 mm for one layer.
4. The method as claimed in claim 3, wherein the final mix is poured onto the solid propellant motors without forming any undulation in the layers.
5. The method as claimed in claims 3 and 4, wherein the final-mix is poured onto the solid propellant motors within 5min.
6. The method as claimed in claims 3,4 and 5, wherein the final-mix poured on the solid propellant motors is allowed to cure and solidify in 20-25 min.
7. The method as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein Castor oil of hydroxyl number 160-175 is used as the binder, Chlorinated Rubber Powder of chlorine content 60% (min) is used as the filler and Toluene Di Isocyanate of assay 99% (min) is used as the curator.
8. The method as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein Phenyl p-Napthyl Amine is used as the antioxidant, Ferric Oxide is used as the

colouring and fine filling agent, and Ferric Acetyl Acetonate in Benzene solution is used as the catalyst.
9. A method of producing an inhibition compound for solid propellant motors, substantially as herein described.
