Message playback and recorder (3a) and Signal Conditioning circuit (8a), said micro-controller unit (2a) connected with FM radio circuit (4a). LCD driver and display (5a). Message playback and Recorder (3a). Signal Conditoning circuit (8a) and Key pad (6a). said Message playback and Recorder (3a) connected with Microphone (9a) and Signal conditioning circuit (8a). said FM radio circuit (4a) connected to Signal conditioning circuit (8a) which is connected to said Speaker (7a) wherein said keypad comprising FM ON/OFF key (8). message recording and playback key (3), Mode key (7). Enter key (4), Down ke\ (6) and Up key (5). The module is used particularly with a refrigerator.
Full Text F1ELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a multipurpose module. In particular, this invention relates to a refrigerator having value added facilities such as a recorder and playback. a radio, digital clock display with backlight, an alarm clock and a door open alarm which are provided in a single modular form with automated common control and display.
PRIOR ART
Refrigerator known in the arl, have various facilities such as defrost fast cooling door etc. certain refrigerator have one additional facility or other. But the refrigerator having all the facilities combined together in a single module with automated control are not known in the art.
U.S Patent No. 3836221 discloses a refrigerator door with removabh mounted radio. In this invention, the refrigerator door has just a rectangular shaped opening and an insert in the form of a housing which is in stalled in the said opening. In this housing, a battery-powdered radio is removably mounted. The radio can be readily removed just by exerting a force inwardly at the bottom of casing. This causes the upper portion of casing getting projected out beyond the face of the door, wherebv the top of radio is exposed which can be grasped and radio can be removed for servicing.
A limitation of the above embodiment is that only one facility is provided
Another limitation of above refrigerator is that a batten.-power radio is provided in a stand-alone mode as a add-on accessory, which is placed inside a housing provided on the door of the refrigerator. The functions of radio is not integrated with that of refrigerator with common power supply time but on the other hand, radio functions independenth with the help of power dri\ed from battery.
Patent No. CA 1219319 discloses a refrigerator with door ajar alarm with variable delay. The s\stem includes a control, which is either digital or analog for monitoring various operating conditions of the refrigerator such as temperature of refrigerator compartments whether the refrigerator is undergoing a defrost operation etc. The control determines the alarm delay period in accordance with the monitored conditions.
The limitation of the above refrigerator is that of embodies only one features of alarm wherein control is dependent on the temperature inside the refrigerator.
U.S Patent No. 5894275 discloses a refrigerator with a voice recorder playback module. This embodiment includes a case and an electronic circuit supported by the case for recording an audio message under control of a user the thereafter automatically plays the audio message in response to a change in ambient light. The embodiment comprises a battery power supplly an on-off switch, a light emitting diode indicating the RECORD mode of operation, a case
having size and shape suitable for placement in users refrigerator with a reminder message that plays when refrigerator door opens.
The above embodiment has the limitation incorporates that is device that functions on stand-alone mode based in a battery and is provided in a casing on the door of the refrigerator.
Patent U S 2003010052 discloses a refrigerator, wherein a cabinet is provided for enclosing a refrigerating compartment, the cabinet having a door providing access to the refrigerating compartment, and a message center is provided which is operatively connected to the cabinet. The message center includes a speaker, a microphone and a display.
The limitation of the above device is that incorporates only one features of message recording.
OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
An object of this invention is to provide a refrigerator incorporating a single integrated compact module with automated common control and display, wherein the said module is based on advanced automated technologies and embodies several features all integrated into single module. The features
embodied are message recording, message playback, internal clock digital time display internal clock alarm, FM radio and open door alarm.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a refrigerator wherein the backlight of the module is integrated with digital clock in such a way that at a pre-set time, the backlight is automatically switched on which facilitates laying hands on the door of the refrigerator in power failure or in darkness.
Still another object of the present invention is provide a refrigerator wherein the message recording system enables recording of message 10 seconds and saving at for future, which can be played back by any person for any desired purpose.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a refrigerator wherein internal clock and digital time display will display the current time and has a back for 6 hours in case power failure.
Still further object of the present invention is to provide a refrigerator wherein FM radio provided has a bandwidth of 20 MHZ with operating range from 90 MHZ to 110 MHZ and has inbuilt search mode which will search the FM stations available in the above range.
Yet further object of the present invention is to provide a refrigerator wherein alarm clock provided can be set for any time in 24 hours.
Even further object of the present Invention is to provide refrigerator wherein open door alarm is generated if the door of the refrigerator remains open for more that 2 hours and it gets automatically switched off when the door is closed.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided a multipurpose module refrigerator characterised in that a module comprising power supply module connected with LCD driver and display, microcontroller unit, FM radio circuit, Message playback and recorder and Signal Conditioning circuit, said micro-controller unit connected with FM radio circuit, LCD driver and display, Message playback and Recorder. Signal Conditoning circuit and Key pad, said Message playback and Recorder connected with Microphone and Signal conditioning circuit, said FM radio circuit connected to Signal conditioning circuit which is connected to said Speaker wherein said keypad comprising FM ON/OFF key, message recording and playback key, Mode key, Enter key, Down key and Up key.

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION W.R.T. DRAWINGS
Referring to Fig.1 & 2, the refrigerator of the present invention comprises a conventional refrigerator (1) provided with a module (2). The refrigerator (1) has the conventional features. A standard cabinet is provided to preserve the food. Inside the cabinet a freezer compartment is provided for high cooling especially for making ice, ice-cream etc. This part of cooling system is also referred to in the art as evaporator. A thermostat controls the temperature inside the cabinet, as per the user setting of thermostat. The thermostat is an electro -mechanical device with a capillary connected with bellow which activates the electical switch
on and off in order to control the running of compressor to maintain the desired temperature. It is connected in series with input power supply to the compressor a health guard is provided which protects the food in the refrigerator from the bad odour arising due to door of the refrigerator remaining closed for a long time. As shown in fig. 1 the door of the refrigerator contains various utility shelf namely 1. Table Top (lb), 2. Freezer Door (2b), 3. Chiller Tray (3b), 4. Drip Tray (4b), 5. Defrost Button/Temperature Control (5b), 6. Health Guard (6b), 7. Bottle Holder (7b), 8. Adjustable Shelf (8b), 9. Crisper cover (9b), 10. Crisper (vegetable & fruit tray) (10b), 11, Legs (lib), 12. Utility shelf (Big) (12b), 13. Egg Tray with handle (13b), 14. Utility shelf (Big) (14b), 15. Door Gasket (15b), 16. Utility shelf (small) (16b), 17. Tilting Chocolate Bin (17b), 18. Bottle Shelf (18b), 19. Bottle shelf rod (19b) and 20. Bottle Shelf (20b). However, the main function of the door is to protect the costing loss.

The module (2) is a compact product incorporating automated advance technology. The module embodies the functions of message recording, message playback, internal clock and digital time display, internal clock alarm, FM radio and open door alarm. Message recording function will enable the user to record any message of 10 seconds. The message will remain saved/stored and can be played by any person for whom the message is intended for any desired purpose. Internal clock and digital time displays has one internal clock which can
initially be set by the user. Once it is set, the digital LCD displays of the module will display the current time with respect to the initially set time. In case of power failure, it is having backup for further 6 hours. Internal clock alarm enables setting up alarm time with respect to the initial time setting. At the set alarm time the buzzer output of the module gives alarm signal beep which can be used by the user for any purpose desired by him. FM radio provided has a bandwidth of 20MHz with a operating range of 90 MHz to 110 MHz. It has inbuilt auto search mode which will search the FM stations available in this operating range of 90MHz to 110MHz.
The mode key (7) enables setting up cloQk time, AM/ PM time can be selected with the help of Up key (5) and Down/f6)r. The hours can also be adjusted with the help of those keys. Pressing of mode key (7) three times, allows setting up alarm clock time. When FM ON/OFF keys (8) is pressed, the radio will start with default frequency of 98.3 and the clock displays will show the frequency for 5 seconds and it will again come back to normal state and volume control switch will be 'ON' which will remain 'ON' till radio is ON. During 'Radio ON Mode Up (5) and Down (6) keys act as volume control switches and desired volume can be set by pressing up and down keys. Pressing of mode key (7) four times, takes the module to 'message-recording mode'. Display shows 'REC (instead of clock) for 10 second.s of time after which it goes to normal state. For recording the message recording/playback key (3) is pressed. Displays starts the time counter from 10 seconds and shows the remaining time available for recording till it becomes zero. Message record/ play" key (3) is released before 10 seconds. Message is recorded and stred in the memory. Immedialily message play*
"Envelop" symbol on tip of LCD time will start blinking till time of retrieving recorded message with one beep after every 20 seconds. For playing the message, the Record/ Play back key is pressed display shows 'Play'. The open door alarm is indicated by means of an acoustic signal if the door of the refrigerator remains open for more than 2 minutes. The acoustic signal is automatically switched off when the door is closed.
Referring to Fig.3, the power supply module (1a) provide power supply to the micro controller unit (2a), LCD Driver and display (5a), FM radio circuit (4a), Message recorder and playback (3a), and signal conditioning circuit (8a). The micro-contro!ler controls all the specified functions of the refrigerator and their operations of the refrigerator and their operations and scheduiing It gives signals to FM radio circuit (4a), Message recorder and playback (3a) and signal conditioning circuit (8a). It also takes user commands via key pad (6a) and accordingly gives instructions to the sub-modules FM radio circuit (4a), signal conditioning circuit (8a), Message recorder and playback (3a) takes signal from microphone (9a) stores the message in its memory and playback again when such message is required again by the user for playback, the said micro-controller takes the proper control signal to the playback circuit (3a) and the message is played via signal conditioning circuit (8a) to the speaker (7a). The said FM radio circuit works when the user gives command from the
said keypad. This input signal is sensed by the said micro-controller which gives the command to the said FM radio circuit. Its signal is then amplified by signal conditioning circuit (8a) and then this signal is controlled by said micro-controller and displays the specified conditions. The said LCD driver and displays is controlled by said micro-controller and displays the specified conditions. The said keypad is used to take input from the user and is controlled by the said micro-controlled The said key pad has six keys of FM radio on/ off, mode selection, down key, up key, enter key, and message record/ play The said speaker takes input signal from the said signal conditioning circuit (8) and audible signal input.
METHOD OF USE
Internal Clock
The internal clock will be initialized to 00:00 at initial startup or every time that the capacitor backup fails during a power cut. After that it will be kept running continuously. It is a 12 hours clock. When the "Mode" switch is pressed once, it will allow the setup of clock time of described below. The clock symbol will appear with outer ring glow, the centered will follow the sequence of four slates (from state 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and then 3 to "Normal State"):
1. The internal clock (or "00:00" if setup hasn't happen since startup) is shown with "AM/PM" blinking then the AM & PM can be selected by the Up and Down switches, once we select the 'AM/ PM", then press Enter.
2. The internal clock (or "00:00" if setup hasn't happen since startup) is shown with the Hours blinking and the Minutes showing the current setting without blinking. Then the Hours can be adjusted by means of the Up and Down Switches and then press Enter switch.
3. The internal clock is shown with the Minutes blinking and the hour's digit showing the current setting without blinking. Then the minutes can be adjusted by means of the Up and Down switches. Then press Enter Switch to complete the clock setting and return to the 'Normal State".
Internal Clock Alarm
The internal clock alarm will be initialized to 00:00 at initial startup or every time that the capacitor backup fails during a power cut.
When set to a specific Time, it will become a clock alarm and will be running continuously (as long as the power is OK or the capacitor backup allows) until reaching to set value, when it will issue a "clock alarm" for 10 minutes duration only once.
When the "Mode" Switch is pressed three times, it will allow the setup of clock alarm time as described below.
1. The internal clock (or "00:00" if setup hasn't happen since startup) is shown with "AM/PM" blinking, then the AM/PM can be selected by the Up and Down switches, once we select the "AM/PM", then press Enter.
2. The internal clock alarm (or "00:00" if there is not a previous clock alarm setup) is shown with the Hours blinking and the Minutes showing the current setting without blinking. Then the Hours can be adjusted by means of the Up and Down switches. Immediately Clock alarm indicator switch on if the setup was different from 00:00 and then press Enter Switch to set Hours.
3. The internal clock alarm is shown with the Minutes blinking and the Hours digit showing the current setting without blinking. Then the Minutes can be adjusted by means of the Up and Down Switches and then press Enter switch to set Minutes.
4. The new value of the internal clock alarm is shown without blinking and the clock alarm indicator (this is located on the TOP line in LCD) starts blinking. Then the clock alarm can be engaged or disengaged (Alarm symbol appears mean engaged and disappear means disengage) by means of the Up and Down switches, then press Enter switch to confirm the clock alarm setup (if setup was different from "00:00) and return to the 'Normal State'.
During this dock alarm setup, after being continuously pressed for 2 seconds, the Up and Down buttons will be engaged in a "repeat mode", automatically increasing or decreasing the count (hours or minutes) every 0.5 seconds as long they are pressed.
Once the clock alarm is engaged, it can be cleared (without issuing an alarm) by means of following the above process to reach state 4 and then the clock alarm can be disengaged (Alarm symbol disappear means disengage) by.
means of the Up and Down switches. Now press Enter switch to confirm the alarm disengagement
FM Radio
Radio on/ off Push button:
It is momentary push buttons, which will switch on Radio in FM mode. When this 'Radio on/ off' buttons is pressed the radio will start with the default frequency 98.3 MHz, and the clock display shows FM frequency for 5 sec and it again come back to Normal state. Immediately volume control symbol switch on and it will remain on till radio is on.
Radio Volume Control
During Radio on mode, the Up and Down switches act as a volume control switch. Volume indicator symbol (lines) will appear on display and remain on till
radio is on. The desired volume could be adjusted by pressing Up and Down push buttons. Volumes indicator times changes accordingly with every press of Up and Down switch.
Radio Frequency Setup
Press "Mode" switch two times to change the radio setup. Radio band symbol will switch on with outer ring continuously glow. The desired Radio station can be selected (through built in internal auto search program) by pressing Up and Down switch, Radio will play new FM frequency & LCD display will shownew frequency, then press Enter to set the new FM Radio station or by default after 5 sec of time the new Radio station is selected and display goes back to Normal state.
In case there is no FM Radio station received (through built in internal auto search program), the display goes to Normal state. Radio remains on till you press again radio on/ off button to switch off Radio function. Radio operating range is from 90.0 MHz to 110 MHz.
Message Record & Play
This function allows the user to record the voice message up to 10 Sec of time. Press "Mode" switch four times to enter the message-recording mode. Display shows "REC instead of clock for 10 sec of time after that it goes back to Normal state, & internal remaining time counter sets to 10 sec.
To record message press "Message Record/ Play" switch continues to record message. Immediately remaining time counter starts from 10 sec to 0 sec and display shows the remaining time to record the message instead of clock.
After recording of 10 sec of time or release the "Message Record/ Play" switch before 10 sec. Message is recorded and store in memory, immediately Message Play "Envelop" symbol switch on at top of LCD line & will start blinking till time of retrieving recorded message with one beep with every 20 sec.
Message Play
Press the Message Record/ Play switch to play a recorded message, Display shows "Play" instead of clock. After message play display goes back to Normal state i.e. clock mode & "Envelop" symbol gets open and remains on instead of blinking and without beep till nest message record. To replay the same message press the Message Record/ Play switch, Display shows "Play" instead of clock.
Open Door Alarm
The open door alarm indicated by means of an acoustic signal if the door has been left open for more than 2 minutes. The acoustic signal automatically switched off when the door is closed.
It is to be understood that the system of present invention is susceptible to modifications, changes and adaptations by those skilled in the art. Such modifications, changes and adaptations are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:

Message playback and Recorder (3a), Signal Conditoning circuit (8a) and Key pad (6a). said Message playback and Recorder (3a) connected with Microphone (9a) and Signal conditioning circuit (8a). said FM radio circuit (4a) connected to Signal conditioning circuit (8a) which is connected to said Speaker (7a) wherein said keypad comprising FM ON/OFF key (8). message recording and playback key (3). Mode key (7). Enter key (4). Down key (6) and Up key (5).
2. A multipurpose module as claimed in claim 1 is used for refrigerator.
