Full Text | HELD OF INVENTION: This invention relates to a synergistic herbal composition for the treatment of HIV and a process of preparing said herbal composition. BACKGROUND: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, a disease in which the immune system is weakened and therefore less able to fight certain infections and diseases. The causative agent of AIDS is Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) virus. The disease destroys part of the immune system leaving the victims unable to defend themselves against infections and certain cancers. The virus first described in 1983, is susceptible to variation and two major types HIV-1 and HIV-2 have since been described. The disease has a multiplicity of symptoms and evolves very slowly. The incubation period is six months to six years with an average of 28 months. When HIV infection becomes advanced it often is referred to as AIDS, and is characterized by the appearance of opportunistic infections. The target for the HIV virus is always the t4 lymphocytes of the blood of the host. The t4 lymphocytes form the main line of defence, thereby performing a vital role in regulating the immune system of our body. Once inside the body of the host, the virus attacks t4 lymphocytes. As the t4 lymphocytes diminish, the resistance to infection decreases, as a result of which the host becomes susceptible to all kinds of infectious diseases. These illnesses are called opportunistic because they take advantages of damage to the immune system. It generally occurs when the CD4 count is below 200/rnL. Thus death is ultimately caused by these diseases rather than directly by the AIDS virus. One of the common diseases to which patients fall prey is PNEUMONIA. The breakdown of immune system is also an invitation to kaposis sarcoma (tumor of blood-vessels) and many other forms of cancer. A partial list of the world's most common opportunistic diseases and infections includes: • bacterial diseases such as tuberculosis (TB), Mycobacterium avium complex disease (MAC), bacterial pneumonia and septicaemia (blood poisoning). • protozoal diseases such as Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP), toxoplasmosis, microsporidiosis, cryptosporidiosis, isopsoriasis and leishmaniasis • fungal diseases such as candidiasis, cryptococcosis (cryptococcal meningitis (CRM)) and penicilliosis • viral diseases such as those caused by cytomegalovirus (CMV), herpes simplex and herpes zoster virus • HIV-associated malignancies such as Kaposi sarcoma, lymphoma and squamous cell carcinoma The conventional synthetic drugs, which have been used for the treatment of HIV positive human beings are AZT (zidovudine, Retrovir), Trimetrexate, Intron A and Roferon A, Ganciclovir, Pentamidine mist, Cytovene, abacavir, amprenavir, Trizivir. Such synthetic drugs have side effects and are not a complete cure of HIV positive human beings. Traditional treatments for HIV/AIDS can be attractive as they are accessible, culturally appropriate and acceptable and may be affordable in resource poor countries. People with HIV/ AIDS often become frustrated with management of their disease and many are willing to try anything in the hope of staying healthy for longer. Till date no herbal composition has been used for the treatment of HIV positive human beings. SUMMARY The object of my invention is to provide a complete cure for HIV positive human beings by a synergistic herbal composition, which has no side effects. To achieve the said objective, this invention provides a process of preparing a synergistic herbal composition for the treatment of HIV positive human beings comprising the steps of washing and drying the bark of the following herbs in air Azadiracta indica, Piper longum, Alstonia scholaris, Acconitum hetero phyllum, Cassia fistula, Picrorhiza kurroa, Cissampelos pareira, Cyperus rotondus, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia belerica, Trichosenthes dioica, Oldenlandia herbacea, Alaagi camelorum, Pterocarpus santalum, Prunus pudum. Curcuma longa, Berberis aristata, Acorus calamus, Citrullus colocynthis, Adds kendens, Hemidesmus indicus, Holarrhena antidysentrica, Adhatoda vasica, Sanseviera zeylancia, Tinospora cordifolia, Swertia chirata, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Gentiana kurroa, Withania somnifera and leaves of Ocymum sanctum mixing said herbs in equal proportion, pounding said mixture of herbs, and mixing said pounded mixture of herbs with the juice of Emblica officinalis, urine of Bos indicus and clarified butter (ghee) prepared from the milk of Bos indicus in the ratio 1: 4 : 32 : 8, heating the said pounded mixture at 40-50°C till water evaporates and a semi-solid composition is formed Further, the instant invention provides for a synergistic herbal composition for the treatment of HIV positive human beings wherein a semi-solid composition is prepared by pounding a mixture containing equal proportion of the bark of the following herbs Azadiracta indica, Piper longum, Alstonia scholaris, Acconitum hetero phyllum, Cassia fistula, Picrorhiza kurroa, Cissampelos pareira, Cyperus rotondus, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Tenninalia belerica, Trichosenthes dioica, Oldenlandia herbacea, Alaagi camelorum, Pterocarpus santalum, Prunus pudum, Curcuma longa, Berberis aristata, Acorus calamus, Citrulls colocynthis, Adds kendens, Hemidesmus indicus, Holarrhena antidysentrica, Adhatoda vasica, Sanseviera zeylancia, Tinospora cordifolia, Swertia chirata, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Gentiana kurroa, Witania somnifera and leaves of Ocymum sanctum; and the said pounded mixture is mixed with juice of Emblica officinalis, urine of Bos indicus and clarified butter (ghee) prepared from the milk of Bos indicus in the ratio 1: 4 : 32 : 8. The plants used in the instant invention are widely found in India and have been used separately for centuries as a cure for various ailments including jaundice, urinary diseases, digestive upsets and midwifery. For example the Azadirachta indica commonly called the neem, is found all over India and is well known as an insecticide and blood purifier. Different parts of the tree are used. Piper longum or the long pepper is commonly found in the tropical and subtropical areas of India and is used for antigiardial, anthelmintic and carminative action. Alstonis scholaris is a tree that grows to about 50 to 80 feet high and is widely found in India. Its bark is used in for bowel complaints. Ocymum sanctum commonly called tulsi is an herb found all over India. Besides the sanctity associated with it, it is also used for a number of common ailments such as cough, cold, fever, earache, and as a cure for colic and ringworm infection. Picrorhiza kurroa also known as kutki is found in the Himalayan regions. Its rhizomes or underground stems are used as antiasthamatic agents for curing allergies, allergic rhinitis and hayfever. It is also used for rheumatoid arthritis and indigestion. Acorus calamus of the family Araceae, is an aquatic plant found in wet marshy areas in India. Its roots are used for digestive upsets and as a brain rejuvenator. Citrullus colocynthis of the family cucurbitaceae is a vine and its root is used as a purgative and as a cure for urinary diseases and jaundice. The pulp of the vine is also known to alleviate cancer. Holarrhena antidysentrica is also known as Tellichery bark or kutaga. It is a deciduous shrub / tree found all over India and as its name suggests, it is used in alleviating digestive disorders. Pterocarpus santalinus commonly known as rakhta chandanam or red sandal is a 20-25 feet high tree grown widely in southern India and is used as an astringent and skin ailments.
