Full Text | FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention generally relates to the boiler furnaces used in power plants. In particular, the present invention relates to different control means disposed on the power generation system to monitor the boiler performance. More particularly, the present invention relates to an improved flame viewing port device adaptable in particular to power boilers for observing the operating parameters and accordingly monitoring the system performance via the control means. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Flame viewing ports are disposed in Boiler furnace region. The flame viewing ports are used for the purpose of observing the burner flame, condition of water wall, etc. The flame viewing ports are configured on all the four sides of the furnace at different elevations. Boiler performance varies depending on the nature of burner flame and condition of the water wall surface. During operation of the system, such parameters are being monitored by various control means. In addition, various displays means to display the above data repeatedly at different phases of operation are provided. As the Power boilers are operated maintaining negative pressure inside the furnace, the Flame viewing ports can be used even during operation of the boilers. Boiler operating personnel are required to operate Flame viewing port to have visual information's. The prior art (Fig.1) observation doors made of casting / Aluminized steel have many in-adequacies like heavy weight, improper closing, sagging of door, improper locking arrangement. OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an improved flame viewing port device adaptable in particular to power boilers, which is lighter in weight. Another object of the invention is to provide an improved flame viewing port device adaptable in particular to power boilers, which has an improved locking means to the door of the device. A further object of the invention is to provide an improved flame viewing port device adaptable in particular to power boilers, which eliminates the sagging phenomenon of the door during its useage. A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved flame viewing port device adaptable in particular to power boilers, which ensures a matching sealing of the door of the device. An yet another object of the invention is to provide an improved flame viewing port device adaptable in particular to power boilers, which is commercially better acceptable being cost-effective. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Accordingly there is provided an improved flame viewing port device comprising atleast one viewing port cover releasably fixed to a viewing port clamp; a viewing port frame having atleast one hinge accommodating the sub-assembly of the viewing port cover and the viewing port clamp via atleast one first pin; a viewing port latch detachably attached to the sub-assembly via a second pin. The device has individual components made of bodies of steel casting / Aluminum casting / Aluminized steel thereby providing an easily installable / useable light - weight device. The viewing port clamp acts as a matching closure between the port cover and the port frame. The viewing port latch ensures a perfect lock with the frame. The improved flame viewing port is disposed on the seal box of the boiler furnace being mounted thereon using a plurality of fasteners. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS Figure 1 - Assembly of prior art devices. Figure 2 - A Flame viewing port device according to the present invention. Figure 3 - Flame viewing port frame of the device of Figure - 2. Figure 4 - Flame viewing port cover of the device of Figure - 2. Figure 5 - Flame viewing port clamp of the device of Figure - 2. Figure 6 - Flame viewing port latch of the device of Figure - 2. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION As shown in the accompanying figure 2, the improved flame viewing port device has atleast one viewing port cover (4) releasably fixed to a flame viewing port clamp (5); a flame viewing port frame (3) having at least one hinge accommodating the sub-assembly (4, 5) of the flame viewing port cover (4) and the flame viewing port clamp (5) via atleast one first pin (7); a flame viewing port latch (6) detachably attached to the sub-assembly (4, 5) via a second pin (8). The device has individual components made of bodies of steel casting / Aluminum casting / Aluminized steel thereby providing an easily installable / useable light - weight device. The flame viewing port clamp (5) acts as a matching closure between the flame viewing port cover (4) and the flame viewing port frame (3). The flame viewing port latch (6) ensures a perfect lock with the flame viewing port frame (3). The improved flame viewing port device (2) is disposed on the seal box of the boiler furnace being mounted thereon using a plurality of fasteners (not shown). WE CLAIM 1. An improved flame viewing port enclave locking device comprising atleast one viewing port cover (4) releasably fixed to a flame viewing port clamp (5); a flame viewing port flame (3) having at least one hinge accommodating the sub assembly (4,5) of the flame viewing port cover (4) and the flame viewing port clamp (5) via atleast one first pin (7); a frame viewing port latch (6) detachably attached to the sub- assembly (4,5) via a second pin (8). 2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flame viewing port latch (6) is configured profilitically to ensure an automatic locking in registration with closure of the device. 3. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the constituent components each comprise lightweight alloy material. 4. An improved flame viewing port device as herein substantially described and illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings. The present invention comprises an improved flame viewing port enclave locking device comprising atleast one viewing port cover (4) releasably fixed to a flame viewing port clamp (5) and a flame viewing port flame (3) having at least one hinge accommodating the sub assembly (4,5) of the flame viewing port cover (4) and the flame viewing port clamp (5) via atleast one first pin (7) and a frame viewing port latch (6) detachably attached to the sub-assembly (4,5) via a second pin (8). |
