AN IMPROVED SUB-AMBIENT PHASE CHANGE COMPOSITION

Abstract An improved sub-ambient phase change composition having melting/freezing temperature of between 5 to 12ÂșC, comprising 90-95% polythylene glycol 600 (PEG 600) and 5 to 10% of additives such as water. The composition in the first phase has an initial temperature above the freezing point and absorbs latent heat and changing partly to a second phase therby transferring coolness to ambient air through a working fluid. A part of said phase change composition changes phase from said second phase to said first phase and releases latent heat.
