Title of Invention

A GUAGE FOR SAW MILL

Abstract A gauge for saw mill comprising of a pair of arms (3) joint at their intermediate ends (13), two ends of said arms (22,21) fixedly joint to upper (7) and lower support plates (4) respectively and other two ends (9,20) having slidable joints to said support plates, said support plates spaced apart from each other, a nut (2) attached with the help of a threading nut (8) between a guide plate (1) and said upper support plate (7), said guide plate and said upper support plate connected with a hinge (10) in order to level the wood, a wheel (5) connected to the said lower support plate (4) with a leading screw (6) and a nut (8) connected to said end (20), such that rotational movement of said wheel causes a transverse movement of said support plates, thereby causing a guide plate (1) to move longitudinally to vary the distance between the cutting blade (24) and the said guide plate to cut wood of a specific size.

THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN, WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED: -
This invention relates to a gauge for Sawmill. It is useful in cutting woods, fixing the size and measurement of wood.
Until now, wood is cut on the sawmill by deciding and measuring the wood to be cut and thereafter necessary space is fixed to cut the wood by the blade by increasing or decreasing the wooden packing. This process consumes a very long time and is a confusing and a complex process of increasing and decreasing packing to an exact size.
This invention prevents the drawbacks stated above by introducing a saw mill for cutting wood, wherein the process is simplified, continuous and changes which need to be made are very less and at any time for determining the space according to the size of the wood needed.
The present invention is a hand drive mechanical gauge device. It can be fitted on the working platform of vertical "Ben saw". Clockwise or anticlockwise movement of a wheel moves the guide plate of the device forward or backward so that the space between the cutting blade and the guide plate is varied and wood is cut in that size. The invention makes it easy to determine the size of wood to be cut and the speed of cutting the wood increases.
The present invention relates to a gauge for saw mill comprising of a pair of arms joint at their intermediate ends, two ends of said arms fixedly joint to upper and lower support plates respectively and other two ends having slidable joints to said support plates, said

support plates spaced apart from each other, a nut attached with the help of a threading nut between a guide plate and said upper support plate, said guide plate and said upper support plate connected with a hinge in order to level the wood, a wheel connected to the said lower support plate with a leading screw and a nut connected to said end, such that rotational movement of said wheel causes a transverse movement of said support plates, thereby causing a guide plate to move longitudinally to vary the distance between the cutting blade and the said guide plate to cut wood of a specific size.
Its mechanism is easier and it is cheap in price. This is because any kind of training to work on this device is not necessary.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the drawings accompanying the specification, wherein the same numerals and characters are used to denote the same parts wherein: Figure 1 shows the schematic cross-sectional front view of the gauge.
Referring to the figure, the device can be fitted with two bolts on the two platform of the vertical Ben saw of the saw mill as described in the figure 1. By moving wheel (5) by hand clock wise or anti clock wise, the space between the cutting blade of the Ben saw and the guide plate (1) can be increased or decreased as it is necessary and that can be cut speedily accordingly.

The wood can be cut in the size kept between the wood cutting blade and guide plate 1 by passing the wood from the size fixed as such. This device becomes to work as gauge by fitting it with (14X) and (15Z) groove bolts. After fitting it on the platform, by turning wheel (5) clock wise and anti clock wise by hand, screw (6) moves, thereby causing the traveling nut (8) goes to & fro. This traveling nut is joined with another nut (20). Movement of the traveling nut causes the nut (20) to move ahead and backward, thereby causing the cross arms joined at an intermediate position (13); one end (22) of the pair of the cross arms is attached with fixed pedestal. This pedestal (7) is fixed on the end of support plate and the other end of A arms is joint with on the space (20) which pedestal is a traveling pedestal and on it other end, there is leading screw (8). Similarly one end of arms B is joint with a traveling pedestal (9). This traveling pedestal No 9 is attached on the support plate (7) and such a way that slotting can be moved to & fro and the other end of B arm is fixed with fixed pedestal (21) on one end. So by moving wheel (5), Leading Screw (6) moves and so nut (8) travels forward and backward. This cross arms operate one end of A arms is fixed with the other end of this nut and so moves ahead and backward because foundation angle is bolted and support plate No 7 is free therefore the space between Ben saw blade and guide plate (1) gets increased or decreased. This space works as a measurement and after passing the wood from this space, the wood is cut according to the size of the space. This means the space is kept as the cut wood we require. The needed wood is cut as per the size of the space.
One other facility of cutting wood is included in this new invention which that the bolt threaded (18) of leveling wheel (2) has at its one end a ball. The guide plate and support

plate (7) is joint at its intermediate end (10). When leveling Wheel No 2 is moved clock wise or anti clock wise, one end of Guide Plate No 1 and support plate No 7 comes near its opposite end moves away. Similarly if the ends of each other are away, other end comes nearer which is called in level.

I claim:
1. A gauge for saw mill comprising of a pair of arms (3) joint at their intermediate ends (13), two ends of said arms (22,21) fixedly joint to upper (7) and lower support plates (4) respectively and other two ends (9,20) having slidable joints to said support plates, said support plates spaced apart from each other, a nut (2) attached with the help of a threading nut (8) between a guide plate (1) and said upper support plate (7), said guide plate and said upper support plate connected with a hinge (10) in order to level the wood, a wheel (5) connected to the said lower support plate (4) with a leading screw (6) and a nut (8) connected to said end (20), such that rotational movement of said wheel causes a transverse movement of said support plates, thereby causing a guide plate (1) to move longitudinally to vary the distance between the cutting blade (24) and the said guide plate to cut wood of a specific size.
