Title of Invention

RECIPROCATING PUMP FOR A SPRAYING MACHINE

Abstract A reciprocating pump for a spraying machine, which comprises a housing, two end caps and, a driving shaft, a follower mechanism and a reciprocating rod, these components are disposed on the spraying machine. The driving shaft is moved by a gasoline engine and serves to make the follower mechanism move, and the follower mechanism then makes the reciprocating rod reciprocate within the pipes in the housing, thus customizing the liquid agrochemical in the pipes and spraying it out automatically at a high speed. It not only improves the spraying efficiency, but also save the user from the manual-spraying induced diseases: such as arms muscle soreness, and increase the risks of joint disease or even tendonitis.
Full Text RECIPROCATING PUMP FOR A SPRAYING MACHINE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a liquid agrochemical-spraying machine, and more particularly to a reciprocating pump for a spraying machine. Description of the Prior Arts
To prevent crops from inset pest or weeds, farmers will apply agrochemical to the crops or the soil.
And there are generally two methods of agrochemical application; the first one is to spread solid agrochemical (such as granular, powder or the like agrochemical) by hand. The second one is to spray liquid agrochemical by a spraying machine, such as the device as disclosed in PRC Patent No. 01236900.4.
Using the spraying machine to spray liquid agrochemical requires the user to carry the spraying machine and keep rotating the crank mechanism manually all the time throughout the spraying operation, and after a long period of doing such spraying action, it will cause arms muscle soreness to the user, and increase the risks of joint disease or even tendonitis.
To solve the aforementioned problems, the present invention provides a reciprocating pump for the spraying machine that can enable the liquid agrochemical to be sprayed automatically without requiring the user to rotate crank manually.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a reciprocating pump for a spraying machine, which comprises a housing, two end caps and, a

driving shaft, a follower mechanism and a reciprocating rod, these components are disposed on the spraying machine. The driving shaft is moved by a gasoline engine and serves to drive the follower mechanism to move, and the follower mechanism then makes the reciprocating rod reciprocate within the pipes in the housing, thus customizing the liquid agrochemical in the pipes and spraying it out at a high speed. By using the reciprocating pump and the gasoline engine, the spraying machine is able to spray liquid agrochemical automatically. It not only improves the spraying efficiency, but also save the user from the manual-spraying induced diseases: such as arms muscle soreness, and increase the risks of joint disease or even tendonitis.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiments in accordance with the present invention.

Referring to Figs. 1-3, a reciprocating pump for a spraying machine in accordance with the present invention comprises: a housing 10, two end caps 21 and 22, a driving shaft 30, a follower mechanism 40 and a reciprocating rod 50.
The housing 10 is provided at either end thereof with a receiving space 11 and a recess 12 that are connected by a through hole 13, and on two opposite side of the receiving space 11 are defined a opening 111 facing outward.
The end caps 21 and 22 are sealed to the mouth of the receiving space 11 and the recess 12 of the housing 10, respectively. On the end cap 22 is formed a shaft hole 221 and a bearing hole 222 located beside the shaft hole 221.
The driving shaft 30 is disposed in the shaft hole 221 of the end cap 22 and is axially rotated by a gasoline engine, and on the peripheral surface of the driving shaft 30 are defined threads 31.
The follower mechanism 40 includes a follower shaft 41 on which are arranged a gear, a pivotal bearing, a driving bearing and a follower bearing, the follower shaft having an eccentric section, and the follower shaft pivotally disposed in the through hole 13 of the housing 10 through the pivotal bearing 43, in such a manner that the gear 42 on the follower shaft 41 is arranged in the recess 12 and meshed with the threads 31 of the driving shaft 30, and the eccentric section 411 of

the follower shaft 41 is located in the receiving space 11 of the housing 10 for engaging the driving bearing 44. The follower bearing 45 is mounted on another end of the follower shaft 41 and located in the bearing hole 222 of the end cap 22.
The reciprocating rod 50 is inserted in the opening 111 of the housing 10 and provided on its peripheral surface with a notch 51 for engaging the driving bearing 44, so that the reciprocating rod 50 is pushed by the driving bearing 44 to reciprocate within the through hole 13 of the housing 10.
For a better understanding of the present invention, and its operation and function, reference should be made to Fig. 6, the reciprocating pump is used on a spraying machine 60 and driven by the gasoline engine 61 to produce reciprocating motion, so that the liquid agrochemical will be atomized and sprayed out of the spraying machine at a high speed.
With references to Figs. 3-6, when the gasoline engine 61 rotates the driving shaft 30, the gear 42 of the follower mechanism 40 will be rotated by the threads 31 on the driving shaft 30. Meanwhile, the follower shaft 41 will rotate synchronously with the gear 42, and the eccentric section 411 of the follower shaft 41 will drive the driving bearing 44 to oscillate eccentrically. Since the driving bearing 44 is located in the notch 51 of the reciprocating rod 50, the oscillation of the driving bearing 44 will cause a reciprocating motion of the reciprocating rod 50 within the through hole 13 of the housing 10. And at either end of the through hole 13 is connected a pipe 62 (the pipe of the spraying machine), so that the reciprocating rod 50 will also reciprocate within the pipes 62, so as to customize the liquid agrochemical in the pipes 62 and spray it out at a high speed. By using the reciprocating pump and the

gasoline engine, the spraying machine is able to spray liquid agrochemical automatically. It not only improves the spraying efficiency, but also save the user from the manual-spraying induced diseases: such as arms muscle soreness, and increase the risks of joint disease or even tendonitis.
Furthermore, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, between the mouth of the recess 12 of the housing and the end cap 22 is interposed a washer 70.
While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
