| Abstract | A dosage form comprising: a) a core comprising a plurality of layer wherein at least two layers are drug composition layers containing a pharmaceutically effective amount of a drug selected from paliperidone,risperidone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof wherein the first drug composition layer contauns a smaller portion of drug than the second drug composition layer and at least one other layer comprises a suitable fluid-expandable polymer; b) a semipermeable membrane surrounding the core to form a compartment having an osmotic gradient; c) an orifice form through the semipermeable membrane and into the core to permit the drug to be released from within the compartment; wherein the proportion of drug within the first layer to the drug contained with in the second layer is less to provide a substantially ascending release rate for a prolonged period of time. |
