The invention relates to a method for producing a paint roller (10). It comprises a roller body (11) made from synthetic foam comprises an inner cavity (13) for mounting on a support arm (23), wherein the roller body (11) is foamed in a shaping tool (1) and, by controlling the processing parameters (tool temperature ,foam density ,foaming pressure ,cooling etc) a closed compact skin (12,14) of synthetic material is formed on the outer surface of the roller body (11) and/or on the inner cavity (13) wall, and wherein the inner and/or outer skin (12,14) is/are at least partially opened or removed in a subsequent method step. The roller body is thereby foamed in a shaping tool. In this fashion , the paint roller is already given the desired shape during the foaming process such that no or only very little finishing work is necessary and no material is lost. |
