Title of Invention | MOBILE BLOOD BAG REFRIGERATOR |
---|---|
Abstract | ABSTRACT A mobile blood bag refrigerator comprising of an outer body; a middle tank comprising of copper cooling coils in its outer side for flow of refrigerant and partly filled with water; an inner tank disposed into the middle tank; the water entrapped in the middle tank transforming into ice when the refrigerant is passed in the said cooling tubes which cooling is dissipated through the inner tank and eventually to the said blood bags placed in the inner tank; a door is provided with rubber beading and handle on the top of the refrigerator. |
Full Text | The invention pertains to the field of REFRIGERATION ENGINEERING, more particularly to preserve Blood in good condition during transportation and for use in medical camp in remote rural areas etc for a long time even more than 72 hrs. The main object of this invention is to preserve blood used in Operation Theatres and Medical Camps and prevent any contamination of blood due to change in temperature. At present, blood bags are preserved in an ordinary refrigerator. When blood bags are transported from Blood Banks to Medical Camps and from Blood Donation Camps to Blood Banks, the existing technology put the technicians and the people who relate thereto in anxiety. This new invention is more useful in overcoming these hurdles. According to the invention, there is provided a mobile blood bag refrigerator comprising of an outer body; a middle tank comprising of copper cooling coils in its outer side for flow of refrigerant and partly filled with water; an inner tank disposed into the middle tank; wherein the said water entrapped in the middle tank transforming into ice when the refrigerant is passed in the said cooling tubes which cooling is dissipated through the inner tank and eventually to the said blood bags placed in the inner tank; a door with rubber beading and handle is provided on the top of the refrigerator. Fig -1 describes the nature of this invention . The new invention is comprised of an outer body (1) member, a middle tank(4) member comprised of copper cooling tubes(5) for flow of refrigerants and filled with water(6), an inner tank(3) member disposed in the middle tank, . The outer body(1) gives the appearance to the present invention. The Blood bags are kept in the inner tank (3) disposed in the water kept in the middle tank(4). The refhgerator has a door with rubber headings (7). On the top side of the refrigerator and there is a handle (8) to lock the door. The space between outer body(1) and middle tank(4) is filled with polyurethane foam(2) insulation. This invention is a novel one and in relation to Blood Bag Refrigeration. In the existing refrigerator, water is not filled in its inner space. The blood is directly cooled by the refrigerant and when there is a power failure and / or when the blood bags are transported from Blood Banks to an operation theatre which is far away from the blood bank, the technicians and the beneficiaries are put in anxietv and danaer. In the new invention, the space in between the inner tank(3) the middle tank(4), is filled with water. The copper pipes are soldered on the outside of the middle tank. So the refrigerant gas will first cool the water inside the middle tank, then only the cooling comes into the inner tank. Thus the water is converted into ice and thereby cools the blood bags in the inner tank and the blood bags are preserved from damaging and any other contamination. When there is a power failure, or the blood bags are to be transported to a place where there is no electricity, or a far away operation theatre, the water is converted into ice will preserve the blood for a very long time. The temperature of the inner tank (3) is constantly maintained for a very long time. The outer body(1) is made separately. The middle tank(4) and inner tank(3) are made separately. The copper cooling coil(5) is fitted on the exterior of the middle tank(4) and filled with water(6). The inner tank(3) is disposed in the water(6) kept in the middle tank(4). The space between outer body(1) and inner tank(3) is filled with polyurethane foam insulation. The water(6) entrapped in the middle tank transforming into ice when the refrigerant is passed in the said cooling tubes which cooling is dissipated through the inner tank and eventually to the said blood bags placed in the inner tank. There is a door(7) means provided with rubber beading and handle(8) on the top side of the refrigerator. I claim 1. A mobile blood bag refrigerator comprising of an outer body; a middle tank comprising of copper cooling coils in its outer side for flow of refrigerant and partly filled with water; an inner tank disposed into the middle tank; wherein the said water entrapped in the middle tank transforming into ice when the refrigerant is passed in the said cooling tubes which cooling is dissipated through the inner tank and eventually to the said blood bags placed in the inner tank; a door is provided with rubber beading and handle on the top of the refrigerator. 2. A mobile blood bag refrigerator as claimed in claim 1 wherein copper cooling tubes are soldered/welded upon the middle tank. 3. A mobile blood bag refrigerator substantially as described and illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawing. |
