Title of Invention

A CUPBOARD SAFETY MECHANISM TO PREVENT FORCED OPENING OF THE CUPBOARD DOOR.

Abstract A Cupboard safety mechanism to prevent forced opening of the cupboard door, which consists of an angular, structured slot made on the lever, and it acts uniquely such that when once the door is closed, handle of the door gets set right and the angular, structured slot will exactly fit into the bolt given in the cage and this creates a fool proof locking mechanism, jamming the door, when it is tried to be opened forcibly.
Full Text The invention relates to furniture industry. It is concerned with cupboard locking mechanism. More particularly this invention is concerned with a safety mechanism built in the cupboard, since customers purchasing steel cupboards often complain that thieves/robbers can open the existing cupboards without much difficulty.
The customer gets a fool proof locking mechanism that prevents opening of the cupboard. There is no fool proof mechanism available in the conventional models to prevent such forced opening. If heavy sharp strong metal plates are inserted through t^ top & bottom portions of a cupboard i.e between the top of the cupboard plate & door, c between the bottom plate of the cupboard and the door, the top plate will bend in such i manner that the lock lever will come out and the doors will open. In other cases the bottom or top plate or both the bottom & top plates will get sheared and the doors will open. The main reason for this kind of opening of doors is because the cupboard lock central portion mechanism is having a simple lever mechanism, overlapping towards th outer part of the door and there is no hold whatsoever. This system has got all the possibilities of failure when any excessive force is applied.
After making Research continuously over this problem, looking for a fool proofy
mechanism, lots of trial & error methods were applied and this new mechanism has /
been finally invented. /
The novelty of this invention is that the lever has a unique slot, such that when falls on the bolt with head, it will create a very systematic unique locking, so that when excessive pressure is applied on the doors, the doors will get jammed, preventing unauthorized/forced opening of cupboard. This is also a very cost effective newly invented mechanism, which needs only a very minimal production cost, as the mechanism needs Cutting presses, Bending press and Rivetting only.

The conventional model of lever mechanism is very simple. Piercing a screwdriver can easily open the cupboard or a flat on the gap between the door and top frame, release the bolt and the door can be pulled out.
Lock lever mechanism is moved on rivet fixed on the door, rotated almost at 180 degrees. When the handle is pushed down, the lever mechanism is released from the bolt and raised back, so that the doors will get opened. When the door is closed and the handle is pushed up the lock lever mechanism is pushed down and the bolt enters through slot of the lever and creates a perfect locking.
Mild steel Locking Bolt, enclosed in a cage made of all malleable metals/plastic materials having high tensile strength are used for this mechanism ,which will work as a cage when an attempt of forced door-opening takes place. The cage like structure gives extra strength to the lever mechanism because of its exclusive design.
The Angular, structured slot made on the lever mechanism being unique, when once the door is closed, the handle of the door is set right and the Angular, structured slot will exactly fit in the bolt given in the cage and create fool proof locking mechanism because its unique device will get jammed and the door will not get opened.
By the invention of the new device, if the cupboard is tried to be opened by applying excessive force, or penetrating screw driver or a flat-headed object between the gap of the door and top frame of the cupboard in trials to pull out the door, the lock lever mechanism will get jammed on the bolt, as depicted in the picture enclosed.
